Seamless Middle East 2025, the region's largest digital economy conference, will open in Dubai on May 20 under the patronage of Lt. General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. The three-day event aims to accelerate digital transformation across the Arab world. Hosted at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, the event is organised by the Arab Federation for Digital Economy and Terrapinn, with support from the League of Arab States. It will gather over 30,000 participants, including 750 exhibiting companies and 800 global speakers. Dr. Ali Mohammed Al Khouri, Chairman of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, described the conference as a vital platform for shaping a unified Arab vision for digital progress. He noted that innovation and cooperation will be key drivers in building a resilient and sustainable digital future. A highlight of the event will be the unveiling of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy's Strategic Plan 2025–2030, which outlines a roadmap for regional integration, infrastructure development, and international partnerships — including collaboration with China in tech and digital innovation. The conference will also recognise outstanding digital achievements with the Arab Digital Economy Award 2025. Attendees can expect more than 200 specialised sessions and 70 workshops covering topics like fintech, e-commerce, logistics, and digital identity. Egypt leads Africa in fixed internet speed through digital transformation

H-Tayea Egypt has emerged as the top African country in fixed internet speed, a milestone attributed to the government's ongoing digital transformation and infrastructure development, according to Abdel Wahab Ghoneim, Vice Chairman of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, according to Kazinform International News Agency. Ghoneim highlighted the growing impact of digitalisation on the global economy, noting that the worldwide digital economy has now reached a value of US$55 trillion. According to Elbalad TV, he emphasised that Egypt's rapid digital expansion has significantly improved internet connectivity, solidifying its position as a leader in Africa. He also pointed out that Egypt is witnessing continuous growth in outsourcing and digital service exports, having attracted around 55 digital service companies. This expansion aligns with global trends influenced by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is reshaping industries worldwide. Ghoneim further noted that Egypt is investing in human capital development, with 200,000 young professionals trained in artificial intelligence and digital technologies. He stressed that the country remains committed to equipping its workforce with the necessary skills to accelerate digital transformation and enhance economic competitiveness.
