Bahrain Participates in the 51st Arab Labor Conference in Cairo
His Excellency Mr. Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour, led the Kingdom of Bahrain's delegation at the 51st session of the Arab Labor Conference, which officially opened today in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The Bahraini delegation includes representatives from the Ministry of Labour, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions, and the Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation. The conference agenda for this year focuses on several critical issues, foremost among them being the development of entrepreneurship across the Arab world. Discussions also include the Arab Entrepreneurship Strategy initiative, and a review of the Arab Labor Organization's Director-General's report, which emphasizes the importance of economic diversification in Arab countries to cope with global economic changes. The report urges reducing reliance on natural resources to achieve sustainable development and reinforce economic and social stability. On this occasion, Minister Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf underscored the significance of such conferences as essential platforms for addressing challenges, exploring opportunities, and sharing expertise and best practices across various fields. He commended the role of the Arab Labor Organization in promoting collaborative action that supports developmental efforts and contributes to achieving shared objectives. The Minister also highlighted Bahrain's ongoing efforts to enhance economic diversification, ensuring sustainable growth and creating promising opportunities for citizens. He noted the country's commitment to developing the business environment by introducing investment-friendly legislation and launching initiatives that support long-term economic growth. The 51st Arab Labor Conference will continue in Cairo until April 26, 2025, bringing together Arab labor ministers, employer representatives, and trade union leaders to deliberate on key labor and economic issues across the region.

Sisi thanks ALO for efforts to curb unemployment
President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi - file CAIRO - 19 April 2025: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi thanked the Arab Labor Organization (ALO) for its efforts to promote employment and training, face unemployment problem and boost social dialogue between the three parties of labor, including governments, business owners and labor. This came in Sisi's word read out on his behalf by Labor Minister Mohamed Gobran during the inaugural session of the 51st round of the Arab Labor Conference organized by the ALO under the auspices of President Sisi. The session in attended by Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit, 81 Arab labor ministers and 440 participants from 21 Arab countries, AL general secretariat, Arab and international organizations and a number of ambassadors and prominent figures in Egypt.

Labor Minister departs Beirut for Cairo to participate in Arab Labor Conference
NNA - Minister of Labor Mohammad Haidar left Beirut for Cairo, heading a delegation that included his advisor Firas Zaiter, Iman Khazal from the ministry, and representatives of employers and workers to participate in the Arab Labor Conference. The conference is attended by Arab labor ministers as well as representatives of employers and workers from across the Arab world. Minister Haidar is scheduled to deliver Lebanon's address during the conference, which kicks off on April 19. His speech will highlight the main challenges facing the Lebanese labor market and discuss ways for Arab cooperation to support economic and social stability in the region. =========== R.K
