Arab Ministers Hold Israel Fully Accountable for Gaza Genocide
The Arab Ministerial Committee on Gaza declared on Saturday that it holds Israel fully accountable for the genocidal crimes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, according to Arab News.
During the Joint Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit on developments in Gaza, the ministers accused Israel of causing unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe through its ongoing war in the Palestinian enclave.
'We hold the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the ongoing genocide and the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe taking place in the Gaza Strip,' read the statement.
The committee urged the international community — specifically the permanent members of the Security Council — to act urgently and put an end to Israel's illegal aggressive policies.
Moreover, it called for the 'immediate and comprehensive cessation of the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, and an end to the ongoing violations committed by the occupying forces against civilians and civilian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.'
As for the delivery of humanitarian aids, the committee also demanded unconditional access to Gaza.
'The demand that Israel, as the occupying power, immediately and unconditionally allow the entry of humanitarian assistance at scale into the Gaza Strip — including food, medicine, and fuel — and ensure the freedom of operation of relief agencies and international humanitarian organizations, in accordance with international humanitarian law and its applicable principles.' the statement read.
Crucially, the summit underscored the urgent need to start implementing the Arab-Islamic plan for reconstructing the Gaza Strip. Similarly, it urged active participation in the upcoming Gaza Reconstruction Conference in Cairo.
