Representatives Sec Gen Congratulates Shura Sec Gen on Prestigious Award

Manama: Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives and Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, extended his congratulations to Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary-General of the Shura Council, upon her receiving the Arab Parliamentary Excellence Award. This accolade was awarded in the 'Secretary-General of Parliament' category by the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union. According to Bahrain News Agency, the award ceremony took place during the 38th Conference of the Union, hosted in Algeria. Al Buainain remarked that this recognition signifies the progress and achievements occurring in all sectors under the Kingdom's comprehensive development strategy, steered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Al Buainain also acknowledged the ongoing support and guidance provided to the General Secretariats of both the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council by Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, and Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council. He stressed the importance of the support from all members of the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council, alongside the hard work of the staff in the two General Secretariats. He further praised Al Abbasi for her contributions to the Shura Council's operations, highlighting her role in administrative services and her commitment to fostering collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Council of Representatives. Her dedication to enhancing the operations of General Secretariats in Arab parliaments and councils, as well as her efforts in strengthening their presence in regional and international forums, was also commended.

Shura Chairman Congratulates Shura Council Secretary-General on Arab Parliamentary Excellence Award

Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, congratulated Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary-General of the Shura Council, on receiving the Arab Parliamentary Excellence Award in the category of 'Secretary-General of Parliament' by the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union. The award was presented during the participation of the Parliamentary Division's delegation in the 38th Conference of the Union, held in Algeria. According to Bahrain News Agency, the chairman emphasised that this award is a new addition to the achievements and successes of Bahraini women and reflects the continuous support they receive from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa; His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister; and Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW). He commended the dedication and contributions of the Secretary-General to advancing the work of the Shura Council's General Secretariat, and her efforts to strengthen the role of its members as part of Team Bahrain in supporting the Council's work. The Chairman expressed pride in the presence of Bahraini women at national, regional, and international levels, and in their notable achievements that have earned recognition in international forums.

Shura Council speaker heads delegation to Arab Parliamentary Union session in Algeria

ALGIERS: Speaker of the Shura Council HE Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, isheadingthe council's delegation participating in the 38th session of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, which begins on Saturday, in the sisterly People's Democratic Republic of Algeria. The two-day conference, held under the theme 'The Role of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union in Light of Regional and International Changes', focuses on exploring ways to enhance Arab parliamentary cooperation in facing current challenges and discussing political, economic, and social issues of common interest. It also includes reviewing periodic reports, studying proposals to develop the Union's financial and organizational system, and adopting recommendations and decisions that contribute to supporting joint parliamentary action and consolidating the Union's role in serving Arab issues on the regional and international arenas. Al Ghanim arrived in the Algerian capital earlier on Friday, where he and his accompanying delegation were received upon arrival at Houari Boumediene International Airport by President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union and Speaker of the Algerian National People's Assembly HEIbrahim Boughali, and Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Algeria HEAbdulaziz bin Ali Al Naama. The Shura Council delegation includes members of the Shura Council HE Dr Sultan bin Hassan Al Dhabet Al Dosari, HE Mohammed bin Yousef Al Manea, HE Nasser bin Salmeen Al Suwaidi, HEAbdullah bin Jaber Al Labdah, and Secretary-General of the Council HENayef bin Mohammed Al Mahmoud. Within the same framework, HE Dr Sultan bin Hassan Al Dhabet Al Dosari, member of the Shura Council and member of the Executive Committee of the Arab Parliamentary Union, participated in the 38th Executive Committee meeting, heldin Algeria. The meeting discussed several topics, most notably a review of the Secretary-General's report on the activities of the General Secretariat, a study of financial amendments, a review of amendments to the organizational regulations of the Arab Parliamentary Excellence Award, and a proposal to host the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Union.

A key highlight of the event will be the honoring of Houma with the Arab Parliamentary Excellence Award, a distinction granted by the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union.
