Representatives Sec Gen Congratulates Shura Sec Gen on Prestigious Award
According to Bahrain News Agency, the award ceremony took place during the 38th Conference of the Union, hosted in Algeria. Al Buainain remarked that this recognition signifies the progress and achievements occurring in all sectors under the Kingdom's comprehensive development strategy, steered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Al Buainain also acknowledged the ongoing support and guidance provided to the General Secretariats of both the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council by Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, and Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council. He stressed the importance of the support from all members of the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council, alongside the hard work of the staff in the two General Secretariats.
He further praised Al Abbasi for her contributions to the Shura Council's operations, highlighting her role in administrative services and her commitment to fostering collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Council of Representatives. Her dedication to enhancing the operations of General Secretariats in Arab parliaments and councils, as well as her efforts in strengthening their presence in regional and international forums, was also commended.

Youth Pioneer Society Launches 8th Edition of 'Young Parliamentarian 2025'

Society Chairperson Ameera Mahmood said the programme has become one of the Kingdom's most important youth empowerment projects, blending theoretical knowledge with hands-on training. She highlighted the value of international partnerships, which bring global expertise and enrich the training experience. Programme General Coordinator Jawaher AlSenan noted that this year's edition will feature new training content to reflect current legislative developments and priorities. She added that the initiative provides a platform for young voices to engage in meaningful dialogue with decision-makers. Registration and interviews for the programme will open on 20 August 2025. The Society encouraged ambitious youth from different fields to apply and benefit from this unique opportunity.

Netanyahu Says He Backs 'Greater Israel'
Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has unleashed fresh controversy and anger among Arab countries and leaders by suggesting a huge land expanse of Israel's borders in an interview he gave to i24 News . In the newly published interview he said he is on a 'historic and spiritual mission' and expressed strong attachment to the vision of a Greater Israel, which is a longtime reference to Israel encompasing parts of Jordan, Egypt and Syria – along with the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip. It comes on the heels of some hardline Israeli officials and settler groups loudly proclaiming that soon Israeli forces will be in Damascus. This is all based on Biblical concepts of what God is said to have promised the Jews thousands of years interviewer had presented Netanyahu with an amulet featuring what he described as a 'map of the Promised Land' – with the image symbolically depicting the greatly expanded vision of Israel's future. Netanyahu when asked if he feels a connection with this concept of a Greater Israel, responded 'Very much'. Among the first regional governments to condemn the remarks has been Jordan. Jordan's Foreign Ministry highlighed the 'Greater Israel' remarks, commenting that it constitutes 'a dangerous and provocative escalation, a threat to the sovereignty of states, and a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.'
