Kuwaiti players ready to compete for top spots at the Arab Squash Championship
KUWAIT CITY, April 10: The draw for the 29th Arab Squash Championship for Juniors and Youth (under 15 and 19) took place on April 8, 2025, at the Sheikh Salem Al-Sabah International Squash Center. The tournament, which features seven participating nations, will showcase some of the best young squash talent in the Arab world. Abdullah Al-Subaie, head of the Kuwaiti delegation, expressed confidence in the Kuwaiti players' readiness to compete for top honors. Notable contenders from the Kuwaiti team include Abdullah Hani, Khaled Al-Fawzan, Issa Al-Najada, and Saleh Al-Kandari. Representatives from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Qatar, and Yemen, along with a Kuwaiti representative, attended the draw ceremony. Walid Al-Sumaie, President of the Arab Squash Federation, was also present to oversee the proceedings. The Secretary General of the Kuwait Squash Federation, Hamed Al-Omran, extended a warm welcome to the participants, emphasizing the importance of the championship and wishing everyone success in the spirit of friendship and peace. In the tournament's draw, Saudi Arabia's Mohammed Al-Nusfan was placed at the top of Group 1, while Kuwait's Abdullah Hani led Group 2. The singles competition kicked off with 20 thrilling matches across the under-19 and under-15 categories, showcasing intense competition among the players. The quarterfinal matches are set to begin today, with the first rounds scheduled from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The semifinals will take place in the evening, followed by the finals tomorrow, Saturday evening.

29th Arab Junior Squash Championship to kick off in Kuwait on Thursday
KUWAIT CITY, April 7: The 29th Arab Junior Championship for Under-15 and Under-19 Individuals and Teams will begin next Thursday at the Sheikh Salem Al-Sabah International Squash Center, located at the Federation's headquarters in South Sura. Six countries, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, and Yemen, will join Kuwait in this exciting tournament. The tournament draw is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, at 8:00 PM. Singles competitions will take place in both morning and evening sessions on Thursday and Friday. The team championship will begin on Saturday, with the event concluding on the 15th of this month. Kuwait has been preparing intensively with daily training sessions held in both the morning and evening. The under-19 team features Abdulrahman Al-Maghribi, Jassim Al-Gharib, Khaled Al-Fawzan, Abdullah Hani, Abdulrahman Al-Sanea, and Abdulrahman Al-Kandari. The under-15 team includes Issa Al-Najadah, Saleh Al-Kandari, Salman Al-Saleh, Abdullah Mayouf, Hamoud Al-Sawagh, and Zaid Al-Najjar. The under-15 squad is coached by Ahmed Abdel-Aal Sebaei and Majed Khan, with fitness coach Captain Ahmed Al-Sayed. The delegation is led by Abdullah Al-Subaie, Director of National Teams. The Arab Squash Federation has appointed a technical committee for the event, chaired by Fayez Al-Mutairi, the Secretary-General of the Arab Federation. The committee also includes Hamed Al-Omran, Secretary-General of the Kuwaiti Federation, Yousef Al-Maliki (Qatar), and Samer Al-Khatib (Saudi Arabia). Referee Abdulhadi Al-Aryan has been nominated as the tournament's general referee.
