WAMY Launches 11th Medical Convoy to Maroua, Cameroon

The World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) has dispatched its 11th medical convoy to Maroua, Cameroon, led by a specialized team of ophthalmologists and eye surgeons. During the mission, the team successfully performed 330 eye surgeries, including cataract extractions and treatments for various ocular conditions. In addition, they carried out 842 medical examinations—such as vision screenings—and provided comprehensive treatment plans for patients, particularly in underserved and remote regions. This initiative is part of WAMY's broader health outreach across Africa, reaffirming its commitment to humanitarian service and sustainable development by supporting vulnerable communities and easing their medical hardships. Saudi academy concludes Arabic program in Spain

RIYADH: The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language has concluded its Arabic Language Month program in Spain, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Held throughout April, the initiative is part of the academy's global project to support Arabic education for non-native speakers and promote collaboration with international academic and cultural institutions. The program included a range of educational and cultural events across Spanish cities such as Madrid, Granada and Cordoba. Activities featured an exhibition, seminars, training courses, language proficiency tests and student competitions, organized in partnership with Spanish universities and institutions. Key collaborators included Casa Arabe, Rey Juan Carlos University, the Autonomous University of Madrid and the University of Granada. Targeting Arabic learners, educators and specialists, the program offered training sessions, awareness activities and academic forums. It concluded in Cordoba with an introductory lecture and open forum for Arabic language enthusiasts. The lecture outlined the academy's global vision, highlighted its international projects and explored future partnerships with Spanish institutions. The initiative has also been implemented in countries such as Uzbekistan, Indonesia, China, India, France, Brazil, Thailand and Malaysia, expanding its global reach.

King Salman Academy Collaborates with Indiana University on Teaching Arabic

The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language has begun its specialized academic program on teaching the Arabic language in cooperation with Indiana University in the US. As part of the second phase of the Arabic Language Teacher Training Project for Non-Native Speakers, the program seeks to develop teachers' skills, according to the Saudi Press Agency. Set to run until April 8, the program will explore new advanced teaching techniques. The Academy's Secretary-General, Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, stated that the academy aims to boost the quality of teaching and expand the use of linguistic proficiency tests, such as the Academic Hamza Test. Al-Washmi also noted that the current cooperation with Indiana University stands as a testament to the Academy's commitment to exchanging academic expertise. Importantly, this collaboration will offer the academy an exclusive opportunity to leverage from the best practices in teaching the Arabic language at the international level. The program features an introductory course on language tests and a specialized course on training Arabic teachers for non-native speakers. Through modern teaching strategies, the program focuses on developing teachers' professional performance. This remarkable milestone follows successful programs in Uzbekistan, Indonesia, China, India, France, Brazil, Thailand, and Malaysia.
