Rehabilitated Kapuso classrooms at Matagbak Elementary School in Rizal now ready for use

Newly rehabilitated Kapuso classrooms at the Matagbak Elementary School in Pililla, Rizal, are now ready for use. According to "24 Oras" Monday, the three Kapuso classrooms were built in the school in 2010 after it was ravaged by Typhoon Ondoy in 2009. In 2024, however, the Kapuso classrooms were flooded and destroyed amid the onslaught of Typhoon Enteng. Under GMA Kapuso Foundation's Kapuso School Development Project, the affected classrooms were repaired and made even stronger; the school's comfort rooms were also renovated to ensure a comfortable experience for the students. The foundation also equipped the classrooms with new armchairs and teachers' desks. A new smart TV was also donated to the school and vegetable seeds for the school garden. Meanwhile, rice and porridge were distributed to the students. Previously, the GMA Kapuso Foundation opened seven rehabilitated Kapuso classrooms at the Virgilio B. Melendres Memorial Elementary School, also in Pililla, Rizal. The foundation is currently preparing to extend help to those who have been affected by the floods caused by Severe Tropical Storm Crising and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) over the weekend. While Crising has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), two low pressure areas (LPAs) are currently within the PAR and have a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours. On Tuesday, GMA Kapuso Foundation will distribute relief goods and porridge to affected residents of Balagtas, Bulacan, as well as evacuees in Baranggay Katipunan in Quezon City. For those who wish to support GMA Kapuso Foundation's projects, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee. Visit the GMA Kapuso Foundation website for more information. Meanwhile, here's a list of Metro Manila malls offering free overnight parking, WiFi, and phone charging stations to those who may need assistance during the heavy rains. —CDC, GMA Integrated News

New armchairs and teachers' desks were also installed in Kapuso classrooms. A smart TV was likewise donated to the school, and rice and food were distributed to the students.
