Triveni Van: Forest of Peepal, Pakar andNeem to come up at Kukrail picnic spot
Lucknow: 'Triveni Van', the forest consisting of three sacred trees, Peepal, Pakar, and Neem, was planted in Kukrail picnic spot on Tuesday as part of week-long Van Mahotsav campaign by the state govt. Minister of state for environment, forest and climate change (independent charge) Arun Kumar Saxena inaugurated the campaign under which the plan is to plant over 35 crore saplings across the state. T he minister also inaugurated a yoga point and an open gym at the place. It will become a major attraction for visitors coming to the picnic spot, he said. School children were given drumstick saplings in the programme. Awadh forest division, as a part of the tree plantation campaign 2025, gifted a teak sapling symbolising prosperity and development to parents of newborns at Veerangana Avanti Bai Women's Hospital in Lucknow. Renu Singh, APCCF, Lucknow, and Sitanshu Pandey, DFO, Lucknow, distributed green gold birth certificates, flower bouquets, and teak saplings to the families of newborns. IIA members take oath, define priorities
Lucknow: The new leadership of the Indian Industries Association (IIA) took charge on Tuesday. "The new leadership has pledged to promote MSME development through active policy advocacy at the state and national levels. It has also decided to scale up access to markets, finance and technology for MSMEs by leveraging govt schemes and programmes. The third resolve was to accelerate the adoption of digital tools and green technologies to prepare MSMEs for global competition. The final resolve was an appeal to the members to ensure 100% commitment to the IIA in this age of competition and digital revolution," said a spokesperson. IIA national president Dinesh Goyal, along with 160 newly appointed office bearers from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, and other states, took the oath of office and secrecy for the upliftment and development of MSMEs in the presence of minister of environment, forest and climate change, UP Arun Kumar Saxena. Saxena urged the industry body to promote the adoption of green and clean energy by MSMEs as an important step towards environmental protection. Green wave: UP to plant 35cr saplings
Lucknow: July 1 will mark the start of the week-long tree Van Mahotsav in the country. In UP, Plantation 2025 will kick off with the theme 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam', aiming to plant 35 crore saplings across the state through a massive people's participation drive. A programme is scheduled to create a Triveni Van at Kukrail in Lucknow. The event will be inaugurated by forest minister Arun Kumar Saxena. This year's drive has exciting highlights, including the state govt's initiative to give saplings to parents of babies born between July 1 and 7 in govt hospitals. The newborns' parents will also receive a 'Green Gold' certificate. Another key feature will be the creation of themed gardens in every district, honoring great personalities. These include: Atal Van — dedicated to former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Ekta Van — marking Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's 150th birth anniversary and Eklavya Van — honouring revolutionary tribal icon Birsa Munda. Besides, Oxy Van will be raised as "green lungs" in every municipal corporation and nagar palika. Van Mahotsav: State eyes record feat with 35cr saplings
Lucknow: UP is set to celebrate Van Mahotsav from July 1 to 7 under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wherein the forest and wildlife department plans to plant a record 35 crore saplings across Uttar Pradesh, the highest in country. The department, working in close coordination with various other departments, has gathered 52.33 crore saplings and completed advance soil work on 72,912 hectares of land. A review meeting led by forest and environment minister Arun Kumar Saxena was held for all divisions, except Meerut and Gorakhpur, to monitor the progress. The Van Mahotsav is part of the govt's broader plan to protect the environment and increase forest areas. The nodal officer for Van Mahotsav, additional principal chief conservator of forests Deepak Kumar, said all preparations are complete. The forest department prepared about 47.2 crore saplings, the horticulture department contributed 1.6 crore, the silk department 0.3 crore, and 3.1 crore came from private organisations. Plant trees to save environ, says minister
1 2 Lucknow: There is a need to check the wastage of natural resources and the cutting of trees to conserve the earth and the environment, said minister of state for environment, forest and climate change (independent charge) Arun Kumar Saxena. He was speaking on the occasion of Earth Day on Tuesday, the theme for which is 'Our Power - Our Planet' this year. "We need to make people aware of reducing pollution and the use of plastic. Considering the rise in temperature, we need to increase the use of renewable energy by at least three times," said the minister. He asked people to make a resolution to plant trees and conserve the environment.
