BRED Abu Dhabi, presented by Hypebeast, has officially landed and already kicked things into high gear with a stellar day one. As the third edition of this unmissable neo-culture festival, guests can expect an epic lineup that blends the worlds of music, fashion, sport, and art. Rooted in this year's theme of street culture, the first day has already set the bar high with festival-goers experiencing everything from live performances and fresh fashion pop-ups to sports showdowns and curated bites. Here's a sneak peek at what day one had in store for fans and what to expect over the next days: Music Day one's highlight was a one-of-a-kind showcase from regional artists Karim Osama, Asayel, and The Synaptik. The three rap powerhouses took the stage together after their individual sets to debut an exclusive track titled 'Hena' – a cypher-inspired anthem created specifically for BRED Abu Dhabi 2025. Guests can expect plenty more appearances in the coming days from regional sensations on the AMP Stage, including Nayra, Odeal, Ilmond, Marwan Moussa, Afroto, Hleem Taj Alser, Blu Fiefer, Michael Hakim, Lella Fadda, Prince VA, and Kawtar. Music lovers can also look forward to sets from international icons at the BRED Arena including Nas and Nines on April 25, and PARTYNEXTDOOR on April 26. What's more, don't miss the rooftop after-parties with Dany Neville and friends, including Sonia Sol, and #ITSJUNIORJ as well as the Selecta takeover. Throughout the festival, guests will have the chance to browse top international labels with pop-ups from the likes of Pieces Uniques, Daily Paper, Les Benjamins, JD Sports, New Balance, adidas, and Foot Locker. Meanwhile, homegrown talent representing the UAE's streetwear scene includes SER and Mesmari from Abu Dhabi, Basement from Sharjah, and Wyld x Jeeski from Dubai. NUMBER 10 will also feature COPA LAHA, a 5v5 women's football tournament by Budreya Faisal. Additionally, BRED Abu Dhabi will give guests the chance to meet some of the world's best NBA 2K League players live in action at the dedicated NBA 2K League gaming zone that will feature interactive activations, including a Fast Break test, Catch & Win, and Basketball Batak challenges. Fans can also catch the excitement of NBA 3X Abu Dhabi presented by ADQ, featuring a thrilling 3-on-3 tournament and free interactive games like shooting contests, skills challenges, and jaw-dropping Dunk Squad performances. BRED Abu Dhabi 2025: the festival is coming back and we have all the deets
Get ready to flex your freshest fits because BRED Abu Dhabi is back. Yup, the festival that puts streetwear, street food and banging beats front and centre is making its way to Yas Island for its third edition – and it's going to be bigger and bolder than ever. Rap legend Nas, Grammy-nominated Canadian singer-songwriter PARTYNEXTDOOR and Egyptian group Cairokee will take to the stage at Yas Marina between Wednesday April 23 and Sunday April 27 and it's going to pop off. Nas brings his signature East Coast sound and an extensive back catalogue including N.Y State of Mind, Made You Look and The World is Yours on Friday April 25. Lebanese indie band Adonis take to the stage on Thursday April 24 and more headliners are set to be announced in the lead up to the festival. Both Wednesday and Sunday are currently without a headline act so expect some more big names on the way. This time around, BRED Abu Dhabi is also serving up a delicious slice of neo-culture with a side of Arab identity, all sprinkled with plenty of creativity. Things to do and see at Bred Abu Dhabi 2025
Bred Abu Dhabi, a street culture festival presented by Hypebeast, is back for its third year. Running from April 23 to 27 at Yas Marina Circuit, the event will feature live music, streetwear, gaming, sports, street food and art. Here's a list of all the concerts, activities and streetwear brands to look out for at this year's festival. Hip-hop singer Nas, UK rapper Nines, Canadian R&B star Partynextdoor and regional talents including Adonis and Cairokee will all take to the Bred Arena stage. On opening night, Karim Osama, Asayel and The Synaptik will perform solo sets – before coming together for the premiere of their track, Hena, composed especially for the festival. Palestinian rapper The Synaptik, whose real name is Laith Al Husseini, is known for his powerful lyrics. His latest album, Al Taman, explores mental health and personal struggles – topics rarely addressed in Arabic hip-hop. Asayel's debut single, Asliyah, blends Hejazi slang from her native Saudi region. She wowed crowds with a standout performance at last year's Soundstorm festival in Riyadh. Osama, meanwhile, has built a reputation for energetic pop tracks enriched with the electro-influenced sounds of Mahraganat music. Other regional artists on the line-up include Dana Hourani, Nayra, Marwan Moussa, Saud G, Afroto and Blu Fiefer. From exclusive streetwear drops to global collaborations, Bred's fashion zone will feature labels including Pieces Uniques, Daily Paper, Les Benjamins, 5ivepillars and Precious Trust. Sneaker brands such as Adidas, Asics, Umbro, Timberland, New Era and New Balance will also have a presence. The festival will also feature a number of homegrown UAE talent at booths by Ser, Mesmari, Basement, and Wyld x Jeeski, as well as multi-brand favourites such as Sneaker District, Foot Locker and JD Sports. The Top Baller Gulf 1v1 Cup finals will take place at the festival to culminate a tournament that started in Dubai in January. The winner of the tournament will earn themselves a 12-month boot deal from adidas. A women's 5v5 tournament called Copa Laha will be led by Budreya Faisal, the founder of Dubai club Banaat FC. Gamers can meet NBA 2K League pros and test their skills at the NBA 2K Zone, with interactive games like Catch & Win and Fast Break challenges. Street artist Futura will be signing copies of his book, Futura: The Artist's Monograph. Global artists including Marwan Shahin, Joelle Jabbour, Stephany and Shamma Bu Hazza will create custom pieces live. Visitors will also be treated to a tech-meets-art installation featuring projection mapping and a high-energy hip-hop dance show at the Nissan x Bred collab. Bred will host street food stalls with international favourites such as Gotham Burger Social Club and L'Industrie Pizzeria, plus Choukran, which will be serving up soulful Moroccan cuisine. Local eateries including Kaak Al Quds, Mattar, Lila Taqueria, Lento and Polline will also be present. There will also be a block party hosted by Anghami, Fred's Coffee Party and Discosan. Day passes for Bred Abu Dhabi cost Dh75 with concert tickets starting from Dh245.

The Synaptik, Asayel & Karim Osama Collide on ‘Hena'
The Synaptik, Asayel & Karim Osama Collide on 'Hena' 'Hena', a new track featuring The Synaptik, Karim Osama and Asayel, touches on themes of unity by bringing together artists from across the Arab world. The track is rooted in cypher rap, honouring and uniting the shared experiences of the Levant, North Africa and the GCC. The three artists paddle verses back and forth, creating a piece that resists a certain structure while navigating constant shifts in production, songwriting themes and lyrical content. The track opens with Palestinian-Jordanian rapper The Synaptik, who is known for tackling themes of loyalty, migration and social justice. Here, The Synaptik navigates borderline electronic synths coupled with hard-hitting drums. The production quickly transitions, moving from EDM undertones to Eastern symphonic string instruments, chopped and layered with thick 808 kicks, trap hi-hats and clapping percussion. As the track progresses, Karim Osama enters with a highly autotuned melodic performance with lots of reverb, leading into the pre-chorus and crawling to the hook. While brief, Karim's verse stands out with striking intensity, offering a contrast to the track's more subdued and varied sections. The chorus, though it appears only once, delivers a powerful moment that lingers long after the track moves forward. In the third section, Saudi rapper Asayel delivers a confident verse, asserting her authenticity using her intricate wordplay, referencing her name 'Asayel' alongside 'اصليه' or 'Aslyah' which translates to 'original' in Arabic, reinforcing her commitment to staying true to her colours while throwing shade at the superficiality around her. "اصليه و ماشه ب أصلي" 'Authentic, and I walk with my roots.' Her verse unfolds over a hard-hitting trap beat, where the hypnotic pulse of Arabic percussion, punctuated by syncopated claps and intricate rhythms, creates a dynamic backdrop that perfectly complements her biting commentary. Produced by Lebanese music producer Sleiman Damien, who had previously collaborated with prominent Arab pop artists like Assi Hellani, Haifa Wehbe, Georges Wassouf and Nassif Zeytoun, 'Hena' jumps through various genres, at times feeling more like an exercise in eclecticism rather than a commitment to a cohesive vision. The transitions from one sonic palette to another, while adventurous, can feel like it undermines the track's flow rather than enhancing it. The Synaptik's versatility is most apparent in the intro and outro, but I couldn't help but feel that his contribution to the track could have been more present throughout. While those moments are distinct, the overall song might have benefitted from a more consistent showcase of his dynamic flow. His verse, when it does appear, matches the electric energy of the production, but the track feels more like a collection of standout moments than a unified statement.
