Belarusian Ambassador Bids Egypt Farewell in Arabic:

Pasant Elzaitony The Embassy of Belarus in Cairo hosted a celebration on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Belarus, attended by Egypt's Minister of Culture, Dr. Ahmed Fouad Henni, alongside a distinguished group of foreign diplomats, led by Ambassador of the Russian Federation Georgiy Borisenko. The event also welcomed Dr. Ibrahim Kamel, President of the Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association; Ambassador Ezzat Saad, Director of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs; Dr. Saleh Hashem, former President of the Association of Arab Universities; a delegation from the Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities headed by Sherif Gad; Member of Parliament Dr. Dohaa Assi; and Dr. Mohamed Nasr El-Gabaly, former Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Luxor University. The celebration coincided with the end of the term of Belarusian Ambassador Sergei Terentiev, who began his diplomatic mission to Egypt in 2019 as the resident Ambassador to Egypt and non-resident Ambassador to both Sudan and Oman. Although Terentiev speaks five languages, Arabic is not among them—yet he surprised attendees by delivering his farewell speech in Arabic for the very first time. He expressed deep pride in his time in Egypt, a period that witnessed a qualitative leap in Belarusian-Egyptian relations. Ambassador Terentiev emphasized that Belarus and Egypt share aligned views on major international issues, rejecting double standards and any interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states. He affirmed the two countries' joint support for a multipolar world order free from the dominance of a single power. He also highlighted the close ties between the leaderships of the two nations, noting that Egypt remains a top destination for Belarusian tourists, with hundreds of thousands visiting Red Sea resorts and historical landmarks annually. Egyptian children also take part each year in the international camp hosted in Belarus, and the number of Egyptian students pursuing education in Belarus continues to grow steadily. In his remarks, Minister Ahmed Fouad Henni praised the strong and friendly relations between the two countries and highlighted the productive meetings between the two presidents. He expressed hope for deeper cooperation to serve the mutual interests of both peoples. It is worth noting that Ambassador Sergei Terentiev graduated from the Belarusian State Economic University in Minsk in 1995. He initially worked in the banking sector before joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus later that year. He served at the Belarusian Embassy in Japan and held various posts, including Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department, and later, Head of the Asia, Australia, and Oceania Directorate. Since 2019, he has served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Egypt. In conclusion, Terentiev stated that as he returns home, he does so with a heart full of love for the Egyptian people and countless fond memories of the land of Egypt. read more 2 Most Inspirational Green Projects in Egypt AEW Dynamite, WWE NXT to Strive over Viewership Tonight Egypt Marks 70th Anniv. of 2011 Revolution, National Police Day In Depth: WWE NXT Halloween Havoc In Depth: AEW Dynamite, WWE NXT Tuesday Viewership Strive Videos & Features WATCH: Egyptians Break Ramadan Fasts in Matariya Videos & Features GrEEk Campus Hosts Jobzella Fifth Career Fair Videos & Features 3 Iconic Ramadan Songs of All Times Videos & Features Top 4 Destinations to Visit in Upper Egypt News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results

Arab Universities to host international recruitment forum in Amman - Society

The Association of Arab Universities (AArU), in collaboration with Belgravia Advisers, is preparing to launch the Arab Universities and International Student Recruitment Agents Forum. The event is scheduled to take place on Monday and Tuesday in Amman. The forum aims to strengthen international cooperation between Arab higher education institutions and certified student recruitment agents from around the world. It will feature bilateral meetings, the signing of strategic partnership agreements, and discussions on mechanisms to increase enrollment and student engagement in Arab universities. This initiative aligns with the AArU's mission to enhance the global standing of Arab higher education and to develop tools that keep pace with international changes and challenges in student recruitment. Ezzat Salama, the association's secretary-general said: 'This forum represents a strategic platform to strengthen the presence of Arab universities on the international educational map.' It, he added, opens new horizons for collaboration with specialized partners in student recruitment. 'At the Association, we firmly believe that expanding international student enrollment not only enriches cultural diversity on campuses but also contributes to enhancing educational quality and boosting the global competitiveness of our institutions." The Association of Arab Universities, headquartered in Amman, was established in 1964 following an initiative by the League of Arab States. Its foundation was preceded by key conferences in Benghazi and Beirut, which addressed challenges in Arab higher education and proposed frameworks for inter-university cooperation. The first General Conference in 1969 saw the participation of 23 founding universities, at which point the General Secretariat became permanent and Morsi Ahmed, Egypt's former higher education minister, was elected as the first Secretary-General. Amr Ezzat Salama: Arab Universities Forum is Key to Global Competitiveness

H-Tayea Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, has described the upcoming Arab Universities and International Student Recruitment Agents Forum as a strategic initiative that will significantly advance the global presence and competitiveness of Arab higher education. The Forum, organized by the Association in cooperation with Belgravia Organization, will be held in Amman, Jordan, from July 28 to 29, 2025. It is designed to serve as a platform for international cooperation between Arab universities and certified student recruitment agents from across the world. The two-day event will feature bilateral meetings, partnership agreements, and in-depth discussions on expanding enrollment and improving student engagement across Arab academic institutions. Dr. Salama emphasized the transformative potential of this initiative, stating: 'This forum represents a strategic platform to strengthen the presence of Arab universities on the international educational scene and opens new horizons for collaboration with partners specialized in international student recruitment. At the Association, we believe that expanding international student enrollment not only enriches cultural diversity on campus but also contributes to improving the quality of education and enhancing the global competitiveness of our academic institutions.' This initiative aligns closely with the Association's broader mission to elevate Arab universities to globally competitive standards, especially in response to shifting trends and challenges in international education and student mobility. Established in 1964 as a League of Arab States initiative, the Association of Arab Universities has long been a key driver of academic cooperation and development across the region. The idea for the Association was shaped by two foundational conferences held in Benghazi and Beirut, which focused on the future of Arab higher education. In 1969, the Association held its first General Conference with 23 universities participating, and officially established its permanent General Secretariat in Amman. The late Dr. Morsi Ahmed was elected the first Secretary-General. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks

The winners of the Yousef Bin Saeed Lootah Young Scientists Award in the fields of circular economy, renewable energy, and green chemistry were officially announced during the opening session of the 57th General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities (an organisation working within the framework of the Arab League). The event was held at the International University of Science and Technology in Kuwait, and was attended by Dr Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dr Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, Dr Abdelmajid Bin Amara, Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils, as well as presidents and representatives of over 300 Arab universities, alongside a distinguished group of academics and higher education experts from across the Arab world. The winners of the Yousef Bin Saeed Lootah Young Scientists Award were recognised across three categories: In the circular economy category, the first prize of $15,000 was awarded to Professor Dr Heba Salah Hamed from Ain Shams University in Egypt. In the renewable energy category, the first prize of $15,000 went to a project by Professor Dr Maher Al-Jaabari, researcher Raghad Mubarak, and researcher Dana Al-Jaabari from Palestine Polytechnic University. The second prize of $7,500 in the same category was awarded to researchers Mohamed Nasser Nafeh and Hamdy Hassan from Zagazig University in Egypt. In the green chemistry category, the first prize of $15,000 was awarded to Professor Dr. Wael Dagher from Damascus University in Syria. The second prize of $7,500 went to researcher Dalia Hamed Amer from Badr University in Egypt. During his speech at the conference's opening session, Yousef Bin Saeed Lootah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yousef Bin Saeed Lootah Investment Group, praised the high caliber of research submitted by young Arab scientists. He expressed his pride in their scientific excellence and in recognizing this distinguished group through the first Arab award of its kind focused on circular economy, renewable energy, and green chemistry. He noted the award's significant strong engagement from the scientific and academic communities across the region, emphasizing that this award is just the first step toward transforming winning research into real-world initiatives and development projects. He said: 'This award reflects the wise leadership of the United Arab Emirates in promoting science and supporting young scientists across the Arab world. It aligns with the UAE's vision for achieving sustainable development goals and the Net Zero 2050 Strategy.' Although the winners were announced at the opening session of the General Conference, a special awards ceremony will be held in Dubai to honor the winners and their university presidents, where the official prizes will be presented. Additionally, several researchers from the UAE who submitted outstanding projects in the same scientific fields will also be recognized. The Yousef Bin Saeed Lootah Investment Group and the Association of Arab Universities had jointly announced the launch of the Yousef Bin Saeed Lootah Young Scientists Award in Dubai in December 2023. Supervised by the Association of Arab Universities, the award is granted every two years to five winners who are either current students or recent graduates from any of the Union's member universities. The award's total value is Dhs250,000 and covers three core areas: circular economy, renewable energy, and green chemistry. The award aims to promote research, education, and international collaboration in these fields, spotlight the achievements of young scientists, highlight the potential impact of their research and innovations on social and economic transformation and sustainable development, and encourage youth engagement with science.
