In a social media post on Friday, Tokki on Auckland's North Shore announced it would permanently close next month after three years in business. "After three incredible years of sharing our take on modern Korean cuisine with the Auckland community, we have made the decision to close the doors of Tokki. "We're stepping away not out of loss but to make space for new beginnings. We thank you our guests, friends, and supporters for being a part of this chapter." Tokki's last day of service would be on 21 June. In the past year, several high-profile hospitality businesses in the city had gone out of business, with many citing challenging economic conditions and changing dining habits. On 22 May, Bar Celeste on Karanghape Road shared that after five years, they would also close their doors from June.
