Nottingham-born Bella Ramsey urges Madame Tussauds visitors to 'high five' wax figure when it debuts
Nottingham -born Bella Ramsey has encouraged visitors to "high five" their first Madame Tussauds wax figure when the sculpture makes its debut. The Last of Us and Game of Thrones star sat down with artists last year so they could collect measurements and select the outfit and review the initial sculpt. Ramsey said: "It's an honour to work with Madame Tussauds London's world-class artists on my first-ever figure. "I am in awe at the level of detail that the artists put into their work, and it has been such a fun experience to be included in their creative process. I can't wait to see the finished look and to share it with fans." The actor, whose family lives in Leicestershire, said they first told their parents and dog about their likeness being recreated. "When people find out there's going to be a me at Madame Tussauds London, if they come around and see me, they'll realise how small I am". "I just hope that people like giving me like a high five or something, or shaking my hand. I'll happily shake it back." Ramsey, who identifies as non-binary and revealed their autism diagnosis earlier this year also said that it was encouraging knowing that others have reached out to say that going public has helped them. "It's kind of scary that everyone sort of knows things about me, but at the same time... I've had so many people speak to me about how it's helped them to be more comfy in themselves or feel more confident in their own skin, because they're seeing a representation of that. "I didn't expect, at all, to be a role model or something for people, but it's really, really lovely that that is sort of what's happening." Speaking on the significance of having Ramsey's likeness at Madame Tussauds, general manager Steve Blackburn said "Bella Ramsey is a film, TV, and style icon. They shine as brightly on screen as they do in person, never compromising who they are or what they stand for. "And working with them to ensure their first-ever Madame Tussauds figure is an exact likeness has been a delight". In the television adaption of The Last of Us, Ramsey plays Ellie, who is reluctantly brought across a post-apocalyptic world by Joel Miller, played by Pedro Pascal. Ramsey and Pascal were also both in Game of Thrones, although at different points in the series. Ramsey played the loud leader of the Mormont house, Lady Lyanna, who memorably went face to face with a giant in the last season. Ramsey's first figure will go on display later this year and will be placed in the Awards Party zone, joining stars such as Timothee Chalamet, Harry Styles and Zendaya. They will also be wearing a green suit and red tie that they wore to the Last of us premiere last month.

The Last Of Us star Bella Ramsey, 21, looks in good spirits as they get measured for iconic Madame Tussauds waxwork in London
Bella Ramsey looked in good high spirits as they attended a measuring session at Madam Tussauds for their first figure in the London attraction on Wednesday. The actor, 21, who is non-binary, had their facial features measured by staff and was seen having their limbs measured for the lifestyle figure. Bella's model will feature in the Awards Party zone at the London attraction and will reportedly be on show later this year. The Last Of Us star had their skin tone matched as well as their long brunette tresses and eye colour so it will be identical to them. Bella flashed their gorgeous smile as they held up a box of eye balls while trying to find the perfect colour to match. The Game Of Thrones star rocked a plain black T-shirt before changing into a smart green blazer, white shirt and a red tie. Bella is known for their breakthrough role as young noblewoman Lyanna Mormont in the HBO fantasy TV series Game of Thrones and as Ellie in drama series The Last of Us. It comes after Bella and co-star Pedro Pascal reacted to Sunday's episode of HBO 's The Last Of Us which brought the tragic death of a beloved lead character. The show follows Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) as they navigate a post-apocalyptic environment following a global fungal infection that turns many into zombie-like creatures. Season 2 - which debuted last week - takes place five years after the first season, and introduces fans to one of the most hated characters in the video games the show is based on - Abby (Kaitlyn Dever). With the introduction of Abby and her group making it to Jackson Hole, Wyoming where Joel and Ellie have settled, many fans familiar with the games predicted that this second episode would mark the death of a main character. Those who theorized that death would happen were proven correct, with Joel meeting a rather brutal death at the hands of Abby, right in front of Ellie who swore to kill Abby, setting up the driving force for the rest of the season. After the episode aired, both Pedro and Bella reacted to the tragic death in new interviews with Entertainment Weekly. Bella said that no one on the set wanted to talk about the death, adding, 'I think it was a hushed thing, like scary words that no one wants to utter.' Bella flashed their gorgeous smile as they held up a box of eye balls while trying to find the perfect colour to match Those who theorized that death would happen were proven correct, with Joel meeting a rather brutal death at the hands of Abby, right in front of Ellie who swore to kill Abby, setting up the driving force for the rest of the season. 'It feels like too big of a thing to just speak about it,' Bella added, while series creator/showrunner Craig Mazin added how important the moment was. 'When it came time to discuss it with other people [outside of production], we were circumspect,' Mazin said. 'Everybody really cared about making sure that this felt like what it was, which was an event we all respected,' he added. Pedro did not play the 2020 video game The Last of Us Part II - where his character Joel is killed off fairly early on - but he knew his fate right from the start. Even though he didn't play The Last of Us Part II, the 2020 video game on which season 2 is based, Pedro knew this would be his character's fate from the moment he accepted the job. 'It's not like they said, "Hey, we kill you at the beginning of season 2," but it was always an understanding that it would stay true to the source material in a specific way and that the, let's say, practical and exclusive obligation would be for season 1. It was just a matter of how and when,' Pascal said.

Lady Gaga blows kiss and wears black gown in waxwork unveiled at Madame Tussauds
A waxwork of Lady Gaga blowing a kiss and dressed in a black and white gown has been unveiled at Madame Tussauds London. The figure is being released ahead of the 67th Grammy Awards after the US singer, real name Stefani Germanotta, was nominated for song of the year and and best duo/group performance for her song Die With A Smile with Bruno Mars. It replicates the Bad Romance singer's black and white Armani Prive gown and statement gold earrings and necklace which she wore to the Grammy awards ceremony in 2022. The figurine also features her recognisable tattoos across her left shoulder blade, which Madame Tussauds said was 'painstakingly hand-painted' by artists at its studio. The museum added the singer's waxwork was created to 'reflect her iconic status and flair for reinvention'. Steve Blackburn, general manager at Madame Tussauds London, said: 'Lady Gaga has owned the spotlight for decades across music, fashion and most recently, film, so we wanted to create a showstopping look to reflect her iconic status and flair for reinvention. 'Inspired by her ability to reimagine herself, we reimagined this brand-new figure 15 years after we launched her first. 'In time for this year's awards season, we wanted the multi-talented superstar to accompany our host of other celebrities in the Awards Party zone. 'It is here where Little Monsters and other fans across the world can now become 'Paparazzi' themselves and join our brand new Lady Gaga figure on the red carpet.' It is the second figurine of the singer after Madame Tussauds unveiled a waxwork of her in 2010. The singer-songwriter has won 13 Grammys during her career, and had four number one albums and six number one singles in the UK, with hits including Telephone and Poker Face. In 2024, the singer played Harley Quinn in Joker: Folie A Deux, and released the album Harlequin. On Monday, the 38-year-old announced her forthcoming studio album Mayhem would be released on March 7. Members of the public can catch a glimpse of her figurine from February 3 when it will be featured in Madame Tussauds London's Awards Party zone.
