Inside Alesha Dixon's last-ditch attempt to save marriage after 'rocky patch'
Alesha Dixon reportedly confided to friends last year that she had split from Azuka Ononye, her partner of 12 years. But it's now thought the couple are giving their marriage another go Alesha Dixon has rekindled her romance with husband Azuka Ononye after their marriage hit a "really rocky patch" last year, according to reports. Alesha, 46, and Azuka are believed to have started dating in 2007 after meeting on tour and secretly tied the knot ten years later, in 2017. Together they share two daughters, Azura, 11, and Anaya, five. But at the end of 2024, Alesha reportedly confided to friends that she had split from her partner of 12 years because their relationship had become more like a friendship. She further said that they would remain in the same home for the sake of their children—and it was that close proximity that ultimately helped spark their relationship. A source told the Sun:"They went through a really rocky patch and decided to call it a day. It had been difficult for a long time and Alesha just couldn't see a way forward. AZ even moved out to a hotel for a while, despite the fact they were co-parenting. "But there is still a huge amount of feeling between them. They've been together for 12 years and have two beautiful children. So they have decided to give it one last try. "They both desperately want to be a family again and are going to do all it takes to make it work. But Alesha's friends aren't convinced it will last. Ultimately, none of their problems have been fixed, so it's going to be tough." Why Britain's Got Talent's Alesha Dixon is still living with husband a year after split Prior to meeting Azuka - who works as a choreographer and creative director - Alesha was briefly married to So Solid Crew's MC Harvey, but she divorced him following his affair with singer Javine Hylton. She previously spoke about the start of her romance with Azuka during a 2016 appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show. She confirmed that they started out as friends when Alesha was on the road for her music and Azuka was a dancer. "I was kind of playing hard to get for about a year," the star confessed. "And then I had the foot operation and I couldn't walk and he was literally sleeping on the floor looking after me every day. I was just looking at him thinking, 'That is for better or for worse isn't it.' I looked a state, he was sleeping on the floor because I was on the couch, I couldn't even get up the stairs. If he can carry me to the toilet then he's a keeper." Alesha later sweetly admitted she didn't see herself having children until she met her husband. Speaking on their relationship on Giovanna Fletcher's podcast, she shared: "He was the first person that I'd met, that I knew that we could have children together because of our values, our morals, our thinking aligned… "The thought of having children with someone who could do something toxic or show them something toxic that I saw as a child frightened me more than anything in the world."

Alesha Dixon 'rekindles relationship with partner of 18 years Azuka Ononye'
Alesha Dixon and Azuka Ononye are said to have gotten back together after reportedly splitting last year. The Britain's Got Talent judge, 46, and her partner of 18 years, 44-year-old choreographer Azuka, had reportedly split in November 2024. The couple met in 2006 and welcomed Azura Sienna, 11, in 2013, and Anaya Safiya, six, in 2019. The pair, who were supposedly still living together despite their estrangement, are now trying to make things work, according to The Sun. A source told the publication: 'They went through a really rocky patch and decided to call it a day. It had been difficult for a long time and Alesha just couldn't see a way forward. They've been together for 18 years and have two beautiful children. 'So they have decided to give it one last try. They both desperately want to be a family again and are going to do all it takes to make it work. 'But Alesha's friends aren't convinced it will last. Ultimately, none of their problems have been fixed, so it's going to be tough.' Back in March, a source told The Sun: 'Alesha confirmed she's split from Azuka and is navigating that as best she can. 'They are still living together for the sake of their family and are co-parenting.' They continued: 'Alesha headed to Jamaica with her friends to get some sunshine and have a break from her hectic schedule. It was a great tonic and she had a fantastic time.' Alesha, who typically wears a ring on her wedding finger, appeared to be trying to hide her left hand in pictures in recent months. As she arrived for Britain's Got Talent filming earlier this year, she was seen without it in a publicity image. In November, an insider reportedly told the publication that Dixon and Ononye's relationship felt like more of a friendship before their separation. 'Alesha's been quietly telling people close to her that she believes their relationship is over and they're going to separate,' they said. 'She and Azuka have been together almost two decades, but their relationship has become more like a friendship.' The source added that both are 'devoted parents' and 'want to focus on keeping their relationship as amicable as possible for [their daughters] sake.' The pair last appeared on a red carpet together in July 2023 at Stormzy's 30th birthday and have not posted each other on social media for several months. It has never been confirmed whether Alesha and Azuka were ever married, although it was rumored they secretly tied the knot in 2017. She introduced him as her 'lovely husband' during an appearance on Michael McIntyre's Big Show Christmas Special. The last time Azuka featured on Alesha's Instagram was in June when she performed on the BGT live shows with a special cameo from her other half. Speaking previously about their relationship, Alesha, who initially hired Azuka as a backing dancer for her tour, shared that an unfortunate injury brought them close together. 'I had a foot operation, and I couldn't walk. He was literally sleeping on the floor, looking after me every day,' she reminisced of 2006. 'I was just looking at him thinking, 'That is for better or for worse, isn't it?' I looked a state. More Trending 'He was sleeping on the floor because I was on the couch. I couldn't even get up the stairs. If he can carry me to the toilet, he's a keeper.' When asked in 2020 about the possibility of getting down on one knee, given that it was a leap year, she said: 'I wouldn't rule out ever proposing to him. I'm not in a rush to get married but I would definitely be open-minded to it – why not? 'Unless he's down on one knee with a ring then I'm not going to take him seriously.' Ononye was Alesha's second husband, as she was married to British rapper Harvey from 2005 until 2006. Got a story? Alesha Dixon 'is back together with partner of 18 years Azuka Ononye' as pair 'give it one last try after shock split'
Alesha Dixon has reportedly rekindled her relationship with her partner of 18 years Azuka Ononye - after it was thought that they had split late last year. It was first reported in November 2024 that the Britain's Got Talent judge, 46, and her long-term partner, who share daughters Azura, 10, and Anaya, four, had split. Then last month it was claimed that Alesha had admitted to friends that despite them having broken up, they were still living together. And it appears being under the same roof may have saved their relationship as now The Sun claims they are giving things another go. A source told the publication: 'They went through a really rocky patch and decided to call it a day. It had been difficult for a long time and Alesha just couldn't see a way forward. 'AZ even moved out to a hotel for a while, despite the fact they were co-parenting. But there is still a huge amount of feeling between them. They've been together for 18 years and have two beautiful children. 'So they have decided to give it one last try. They both desperately want to be a family again and are going to do all it takes to make it work. 'But Alesha's friends aren't convinced it will last. Ultimately, none of their problems have been fixed, so it's going to be tough.' A representative for Alesha has been contacted by MailOnline for comment. The star recently enjoyed some time to herself at the £1000-a-night GoldenEye resort in Jamaica, when it was reported that they were still living together. Last month Alesha is said to have confided in pals that her relationship with choreographer Azuka, 44, became 'more of a friendship' before going their separate ways. The pair made their last joint red carpet appearance in July 2023 at Stormzy's star-studded 30th birthday and have not appeared on each other's social media in recent months. The couple were rumoured to have secretly married in 2017 and she introduced him as her 'lovely husband' during an appearance Michael McIntyre's Big Show Christmas Special in December 2017, however neither have confirmed if a wedding took place. They first met in 2006 following Alesha's one year marriage So Solid Crew rapper MC Harvey, following his affair with fellow singer Javine Hylton. Azuka first worked as the former Mis-Teeq back up dancer before being hired as her creative director. Speaking about the relationship on The Jonathan Ross Show in 2018, she admitted playing 'hard to get for about a year'. 'He was sleeping on the floor because I was on the couch, I couldn't even get up the stairs. If he can carry me to the toilet then he's a keeper.' She said: 'Then I had the foot operation and I couldn't walk and he was literally sleeping on the floor looking after me every day. I was just looking at him thinking, 'That is for better or for worse isn't it?' I looked a state.' Alesha gushed over Azuka again during a 2014 appearance on Piers Morgan's Life Stories and said she could 'authentically be herself' when she was with him. 'I don't have to be anything other than who I am and it's a great feeling when you can just be yourself with someone. And it's like being with my best friend every day'. Meanwhile speaking about their family she told Giovanna Fletcher's Happy Mum podcast in 2020: '[Azuka] was the first person that I'd met, that I knew that we could have children together because of our values, our morals, our thinking aligned'. And later told HELLO! in 2022: 'If you choose to have children, you are their first introduction to the world. 'I make a very conscious effort that my daughters have a very loving, supportive home with two parents who are great role models. I feel a sense of responsibility.' They also didn't appear on each other's social media for months ahead of the split. While he doesn't use social media much - he hasn't posted her since 2021. Reports at the start of the year suggested that the couple both attended rapper Nas' concert at London's Royal Albert Hall in November. But the former couple went separately and sat at opposite sides of the venue. Azuka shared a snap of himself with friends on the night, but Alesha was not seen with them. Alesha appeared to have been trying to hide her left hand where she had previously worn a ring on her wedding finger. And in October she was seen without it in a BGT publicity picture.

Alesha Dixon 'rekindling marriage' a year after splitting from husband
Alesha Dixon and her husband are said to be rekindling their marriage a year after they shocked fans by announcing they had split after almost two decades together Alesha Dixon and her husband Azuka Ononye are believed to be giving their marriage another go after splitting. The Britain's Got Talent judge and her partner shocked fans when it emerged that they had split last year after first meeting in 2006. Now, however, it's said that the couple have been attempting to give their marriage another go for the sake of their two children. Prior to their split, the pair had been married since 2017 and had still been living together. Now, sources claim that Alesha and Azuka's decision to remain under one roof has caused sparks to fly. They're believed to be doing "all it takes" to make sure that their marriage gets back on track after they hit a rocky patch. Alesha reportedly failed to see a way forward when they split. "AZ even moved out to a hotel for a while, despite the fact they were co-parenting," a source said. They went on to add: "But there is still a huge amount of feeling between them. They've been together for 12 years and have two beautiful children." Speaking to The Sun, the source continued: "So they have decided to give it one last try. They both desperately want to be a family again and are going to do all it takes to make it work" However, it's believed that some of those close to Alesha are skeptical as to whether Alesha and Azuka have ironed out their issues. The Britain's Got Talent judge and Azuka first met after the breakdown of her marriage to So Solid Crew rapper, MC Harvey. Azuka, who works as a creative director and choreographer was subsequently hired to dance with Alesha on a nationwide tour. But things weren't always plain sailing for the couple. Famed for her hits including Breathe Slow, the singer admitted she played "hard to get". During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show in 2018, Alesha revealed that she fell in love with Azuka after she underwent an operation on her foot. She said: "I had the foot operation and I couldn't walk and he was literally sleeping on the floor looking after me every day. I was just looking at him thinking: 'That is for better or for worse isn't it?' I looked a state." Meanwhile, speaking on Giovanna Fletcher's Happy Mum podcast, she said: "[Azuka] was the first person that I'd met, that I knew that we could have children together because of our values, our morals, our thinking aligned." Meanwhile, during an interview with Hello! in 2022, she explained that she had made a "very conscious effort" to ensure her two children have a supportive family dynamic. Last year, The Sun reported that Alesha had been telling her nearest and dearest that she and Azuka had made the decision to part ways. A source said: "She and Azuka have been together almost two decades but their relationship has become more like a friendship. "They're devoted parents to their girls, who are 11 and six, and want to focus on keeping their relationship as amicable as possible for their sake." The Mirror has approached Alesha's spokesperson for comment.
