Lisa Hogan reveals tactics for dealing with Jeremy Clarkson
Dubliner Lisa Hogan has said she will tell her partner Jeremy Clarkson things he does not want to hear when they are filming Clarkson's Farm so that he cannot "interrupt" her. Hogan is best known for appearing on the Amazon Prime documentary series, where she runs the farm shop as former BBC Top Gear presenter Clarkson navigates the challenges of running Diddly Squat Farm. During filming for the fifth season, Hogan shared that she has learned to use the cameras to her advantage when wanting to say things to her partner that he might not want to hear. Speaking to The Mail on Sunday, she said: "I've worked out that when he's wearing a mic, he can't interrupt me. So that's when I go for it." Overall, she avoids arguing with Clarkson, adding: "I'm more conniving than that. Why argue with someone like Jeremy? He's so eloquent. I have to be a bit more… nimble. I like the long-term diplomatic approach." The pair met at a drinks party hosted by a mutual friend nine years ago, but Hogan said that she knew Clarkson for his columns, with regular contributions for The Sun and The Sunday Times, rather than his TV presenting. Speaking about Clarkson and what he is like off camera, she said: "He's always incredibly inquisitive. "His mind is always on the move. He'll come in fizzing with energy about the smallest thing. I like that. "I used to let my son stay up to watch Top Gear, but I never really watched it myself. I knew him more from his writing. I always loved his columns. I thought he was bright - and probably amusing. And I think he thought I'd be amusing." Hogan once used tadpoles as a live centrepiece after discovering them in her pond. She said: "It was fascinating! You could have a conversation and see them wandering around. Well, anyway, I put them back because everyone was pretty freaked out by it, but I could tell he was charmed. "It's like a tablescape. It's interesting!

Freddie Flintoff's documentary praised by Jack Whitehall as he shares health battle
Freddie Flintoff's new Disney+ documentary has touched many, with the ex-cricket star candidly recounting the horror smash which left him with life-changing injuries. The former BBC Top Gear host, 47, was left with extensive facial and rib injuries, in what was described by doctors as being in the "top five" worst injuries they had ever seen. Now, comedy legend Jack Whitehall has been among those voicing support for his pal. It comes as he candidly admitted his own health battle on the Disney+ show, with the 36-year-old detailing his own pressures amid his health issues with bulimia, as Freddie opened up on his own struggles with the eating disorder. The pair became good friends after working together on Sky panel show A League of their Own, but they also had something deeper in common. Talking in the show, Jack said : "I was bulimic when I first started doing television, it's not something that I've ever really spoken about. "But I remember that pressure of being on television. And it's not something that I've seen other men or people in the media talk about, until Fred came out and spoke about it." "I just remember thinking that was incredibly brave of him," he added. Recalling their friendship in its earlier days, Jack noted, "I remember being quite intimidated - I was meeting Freddie Flintoff, who I looked up to alot as a kid, for the first time. "I was also like, he's this big burly northern bloke and I'm this rather effeminate flouncing boarding school boy, I'm probably not going to be his type of chap." He continued, "So many people think of him as so strong and so alpha but he's definitely fragile. To see how open and honest he's been about his struggles - like his bulimia." Freddie made a documentary for the BBC called Freddie Flintoff: Living with Bulimia, back in 2020, where he explained how his struggle with bulimia started in the early part of his international cricket career, when focus was put on his weight. The sports star admitted that he was even making himself sick during helping England to secure their first Ashes victory in 18 years in 2005. He said: "The first Test of that series, I was being sick. Everyone is talking about how well you're doing, and there's part of you that thinks, 'it's working, let's just crack on with it'." Elsewhere, the trailer for his new documentary has unveiled the initial images from the scene of the crash. Captured at the Top Gear track, photographs have shown paramedics tending to Freddie's crumpled form beside the vehicle, which had skidded off the tarmac and onto the grass. Another tragic image depicts medics providing care to the former cricketer by the roadside, with tyre marks illustrating the drastic departure of the three-wheeled, open-topped car from its intended path. During the accident, Freddie was in the car with a crew member and suffered severe facial injuries, leaving permanent scarring, along with multiple broken ribs. Production was halted "for the foreseeable future" due to the crash, resulting in Freddie reaching a £9 million settlement with the BBC. The documentary will also delve into Freddie's struggle with PTSD, which according to insiders has been as challenging as his physical recuperation. For an extended period, he kept out of the public eye to recover privately and spend priceless moments with his family. Freddie Flintoff barely speaks to Paddy McGuinness since BBC Top Gear crash in sad admission
Freddie Flintoff barely speaks to Paddy McGuinness since BBC Top Gear crash in sad admission Flintoff has revealed all in a no-holds-barred new Disney+ documentary Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff in his new Disney+ documentary (Image: Disney+ ) Freddie Flintoff has barely spoken to former Top Gear co-host Paddy McGuinness following his horrific car crash, the former England cricket captain has revealed. The 47-year-old was at the centre of a horrendous accident on the track at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome, Surrey, in 2022, where he suffered significant facial damage and fractured ribs while filming the BBC show. New footage exposing the incident was shared in a teaser trailer for an upcoming Disney+ documentary titled 'Flintoff', casting light on the dramatic events of that day. Article continues below "I remember everything about it... it's so vivid," described Flintoff in the documentary's trailer. Choosing to step out of the limelight for seven months post-accident, Flintoff expressed frustration over ongoing rumours and misrepresentations, stating: "I've lived under the radar for seven months, one of the real frustrations was the speculation, that's why I'm doing this now, (about) what actually happened." The Daily Mail has reported that Flintoff has had only fleeting interactions with McGuinness, and the ex-League of Their Own star opened up on why communication has been limited. Former Top Gear presenters Freddie Flintoff, Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris (Image: Getty Images ) "We've been in contact," Flintoff said. "When I saw Chris [Harris, the other ex-co-host] we hugged each other, he got upset and I got a little bit upset. I feel bad I haven't been more in contact with him [and Paddy]. "I think there were some comments that I've not spoken with Paddy for a while, and part of it is for myself, a little bit. "I hate the word triggering... but I'm worried about that. It's also something that has stopped because of what's happened to me. Their careers have been halted as well. "So I feel bad for them, and also it's like what happened gets dragged up enough in my own head without adding to that (by seeing them)." On the topic of his mental state after the accident, Flintoff said: "It's hard. After the accident, I didn't think I had it in me to get through. This sounds awful, but part of me wishes I had been killed and wishes I had died." Article continues below "I didn't want to kill myself, but I was just not wishing, but I was thinking this would've been so much easier."
