Woolworths Everyday Rewards change after customers fume over benefit loss: 'Double'

Woolworths has announced a big move that will be music to the ears of electric vehicle (EV) drivers with an Everyday Rewards membership. You'll now be able to score rewards points if you charge your EV through the Chargefox network. There are thousands of these chargers dotted around the country, but more than 100 of them are located at 25 Woolworths supermarkets. If you decide to fill up here, you will be be able to double the opportunity to collect points at the checkout and at your car. "We are thrilled to be working with Woolworths to offer Everyday Rewards points,' Ed Asuncion, Chargefox's executive general manager, said. Woolworths confirms double hit for shoppers in Everyday Rewards points change Common $358 a day expense the ATO lets you claim on tax without receipts Aussies given fresh $100 energy bill rebate in $50 million cost-of-living promise "Woolworths EV chargers have already proven to be very popular, with thousands of drivers using them every month.' You'll be able to take advantage of this upgrade in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia. Chargefox and Woolworths hope to add more charging stations in the future. The charging network was first formed in 2017 and currently has more than 2,220 public chargers available across the country, with 5,000 people charging their EVs every you have to do is add your Everyday Rewards details to a Chargefox profile. For every $1 spent on charging at a Woolworths Chargefox station, you'll get one Everyday Rewards point. A spokesperson for the loyalty program said the offer comes as thousands of Aussies jump on the EV bandwagon. 'We're always looking for new ways to offer our members more value across all their everyday needs," they said. 'With around 300,000 EVs on the roads in Australia, this partnership offers members the perfect opportunity to collect points as they charge their car whilst doing their weekly shop.' The electrifying update for Everyday Rewards subscribers comes after the loyalty program copped a double whammy of bad news recently. Woolworths quietly revealed last month it would be rolling back benefits for customers signed up to its subscription services Delivery Unlimited and Everyday Extra services. Delivery Unlimited won't offer double Everyday Rewards points for subscribers from June 1. The $15 a month or $119 a year subscription gave shoppers access to free delivery on same day or next day orders of $75 or more. A Woolworths spokesperson told Yahoo Finance its service continued to be 'very popular' with customers and asserted it 'provides great value and convenience to customers'. The supermarket also revealed it would no longer offer a monthly 10 per cent off BIG W discount for Everyday Extra subscribers from June 1 as well. An Everyday Rewards spokesperson told Yahoo Finance the change was being made so it could 'continue to keep prices low for every shop at BIG W'. Subscribers will instead get monthly deals at Big W, starting from next month.

Woolworths axes popular discount program

Published: Updated: Woolworths has come under fire for scrapping a popular discount program with loyal shoppers now threatening to cancel their subscriptions. From June 1, Everyday Extra members will no longer be entitled to a 10 per cent discount on one Big W shop per month. Shoppers were shocked after a subscriber shared a screenshot of their Everyday Rewards app stating the discount would cease to apply from May. 'I wouldn't have noticed it if you didn't say something,' one shopper wrote on the post in the Everyday Rewards Discount Facebook page. Members can access Woolworths Rewards for free, though Everyday Extra rewards are available at a cost of $7 per month or $70 per year. Other shoppers vowed to cancel their subscriptions as the benefits no longer justified the cost of the popular membership program. 'Hope everyone cancels their membership over this... Not worth it anymore,' one said. 'I shop at BIG W [because] of this discount. Now I won't bother as Kmart is closer,' another wrote. Woolworths formally announced the change on Wednesday. 'This was great at Christmas time, guess it's a box of choccies now for everyone', one shopper said. A spokesperson for Everyday Rewards told Daily Mail Australia annual subscribers can request an immediate cancellation of their memberships for a 'pro-rata' refund. This means annual subscribers will be entitled to a refund for any unused time derived from the cost of the annual upfront fee. Monthly subscribers can cancel their subscriptions ahead of the change on June 1. One shopper said they planned to join the Coles Plus platform instead. '[I] have been getting good offers from Coles and am going to try theirs for a year. I was only thinking of staying at Woolies because we got the monthly discount at BIG W too,' they said. A Woolworths Group spokesperson said the vast majority of discounts accessed through the program were done at Woolworths rather than BIG W, adding the outlet will continue to focus on keeping prices low. 'Over the past few years, BIG W has been focused on delivering more value to customers every day, reducing prices on thousands of products across their range and keeping prices down ,' the spokesperson said. 'For example, 80 per cent of BIG W's clothing range is now under $20 and 50 per cent of BIG W's home range is under $20.' In place of the Everyday Extra discount, the Woolworths Group will introduce subscriber-only monthly deals at BIG W from June 1. 'We will also continue to evolve the Everyday Extra program to give members new opportunities to earn and save,' the spokesperson added. 'Everyday Extra still provides great value to subscribers, with 10 per cent off one shop a month at Woolworths Supermarkets and 2x Everyday Rewards points on every shop at both Woolworths and BIG W, helping members save up to $50 a month for a monthly subscription fee of $7.' ‘Ridiculous': Woolies axes Big W discount

Woolworths rewards shoppers are threatening to cancel their memberships after the major supermarket axed a Big W discount. From next month, Everyday Extra members will no longer be able to claim 10 per cent off their Big W purchases once per month. Shoppers have flocked to social media criticising the supermarket and threatening to cancel their subscriptions. Some have even said they will instead support Woolworths' biggest competitor, Coles, in favour of its discount programs. 'We're writing to let you know that, unfortunately, from Sunday June 1 2025, the BIG W monthly ten per cent off discount will no longer be part of the Everyday Extra benefits,' an email to customers said. 'Thanks for being an Everyday Extra subscriber and we hope you'll continue enjoying great value from your subscription.' Woolworths has come under fire by angry shoppers who can no longer claim a discount from their Everyday Rewards memberships. It's my second year paying for this service … this current subscription year has been terrible. I don't even get to spend X amount for 4 weeks to get X amount of dollars,' one shopper wrote. 'Woolworths are definitely trying to get their moneys worth and not for us now. Will look into coles rewards,' another commented. 'Yeah, I've just cancelled my subscription. Second reduction in benefits in a year without reduction in cost/replacement of benefit,' a past customer lamented. Shoppers will no longer be able to take off 10 per cent from a monthly BigW shop. 'Over the past few years, Big W has been focused on delivering more value to customers every day, reducing prices on thousands of products across their range and keeping prices down,' an Everyday Rewards spokesperson told NewsWire. 'For example, 80 per cent of BIG W's clothing range is now under $20 and 50 per cent of Big W's home range is under $20. 'In order to continue to keep prices low for every shop at Big W, we have made the decision to remove the monthly 10 per cent Everyday Extra discount when subscribers shop at Big W. Frustrated shoppers said they would cancel their memberships and even switch to shopping at Coles. NewsWire/Tertius Pickard Credit: News Corp Australia 'Instead, we will be introducing subscriber-only monthly deals at Big W. We will also continue to evolve the Everyday Extra program to give members new opportunities to earn and save.' The spokesperson said shoppers would still be able to save by using the discount program. 'Everyday Extra still provides great value to subscribers, with 10 per cent off one shop a month at Woolworths supermarkets and 2x Everyday Rewards points on every shop at both Woolworths and Big W, helping members save up to $50 a month for a monthly subscription fee of $7,' they said. 'If any subscribers would like to cancel their subscription as a result of this change, they can do so via the Everyday Rewards app or by contacting our customer service team.'

Customers threaten to boycott Woolworths as it axes popular discount program in shock move

Woolworths has scrapped one of its popular discount programs, with furious customers threatening to boycott the company and its Everyday Extra benefits program. Rewards program customers have been told via email they will no longer be entitled to a 10 per cent discount on one Big W shop per month. 'We're writing to let you know that, unfortunately, from Sunday, June 1, 2025, the BIG W monthly 10 per cent off discount will no longer be part of Everyday Extra benefits,' the email read. Woolworths reminded customers they were still entitled to '10 per cent off one shop every month at Woolworths, in store or online'. In addition, they will also get 'two Everyday Rewards points on every shop at Woolworths and Big W, in store and online' and 'freebies and promotions from time to time, as well as new subscriber-only deals from BIG W and other partners'. A number of customers were fuming over the changes, with some threatening to boycott. 'Stripping the benefits of a reward program when they already make a decent profit — pull their heads in! I hope a movement of cancellations will make them see their error. Let's do it people!' one person wrote. 'I just cancelled mine. It's not worth it in my opinion!' another person wrote. 'I got an email about it today. Sad to see the discount go, I only shopped at Big W because of the monthly discount,' another added. 'Boycotting and cancelling asap,' another irate customer said. Despite the change, other customers appeared happy with their rewards. Woolworths told on Thursday it was looking to create value through its one-off deals. 'In order to continue to keep prices low for every shop at BIG W, we have made the decision to remove the monthly 10 per cent Everyday Extra discount when subscribers shop at BIG W,' Woolworths said. 'Instead, we will be introducing subscriber-only monthly deals at BIG W. We will also continue to evolve the Everyday Extra program to give members new opportunities to earn and save. 'Everyday Extra still provides great value to subscribers, with 10 per cent off one shop a month at Woolworths supermarkets and two times Everyday Rewards points on every shop at both Woolworths and BIG W, helping members save up to $50 a month for a monthly subscription fee of $7. 'Over the past few years, BIG W has been focused on delivering more value to customers every day, reducing prices on thousands of products across their range and keeping prices down. 'For example, 80 per cent of BIG W's clothing range is now under $20 and 50 per cent of BIG W's home range is under $20.'

Disgruntled shoppers slam Woolworths as popular 10 per cent BIG W discount benefit scrapped from Everyday Extra program

Woolworths Everyday Extra members have blasted the supermarket chain after it scrapped a popular benefit giving customers big discounts on shopping trips. In a major blow to loyal customers, the BIG W ten per cent off perk is set to be scrapped from June 1, with Woolworths Group stating its focus was on 'keeping the lowest possible prices every day'. 'We know that the removal of the 10 per cent discount at BIG W is disappointing, however we will be providing more ways for subscribers to enjoy value through new subscriber-only deals at BIG W and other partners,' a statement on its website read. Disgruntled shoppers flocked to the Everyday Rewards page to voice their frustration, threatening to cancel their subscriptions. Everyday Extra costs subscribers $7 a month, or $70 per month annually. Despite the cancellation of the popular benefit, customers can still enjoy double Everyday Rewards points on each Woolworths and BIG W shop. One person said there was now 'no realistic benefit' to the program, questioning how long it would be until the Woolworths discount was removed. 'First the extra points lowered now this,' they said. An Everyday Rewards spokesperson replied that the prices of 'thousands' of BIG W products had been dropped and were being kept low. 'Given the focus on delivering lowest possible prices every day, we're removing the Everyday Extra 10 per cent discount at BIG W,' they said. 'While the 10 per cent discount will no longer be available at BIG W, you'll still be able to enjoy the 10 per cent discount at Woolies, and you'll still collect double points on every shop, plus score new subscriber-only deals starting from June.' Other commenters followed in condemning the move. 'If you remove Big W discount then the membership should be half the price,' a second customer added. Another person said they would be 'cancelling the extra perks', while a fourth added: 'What's the point of everyday extra if you remove the big w discount?' 'You're not adding any other worthwhile benefit to replace it,' they said.
