While the minor accused was sent to the Child Protection Home in Rourkela, the two others were produced before a court, which sent them to judicial custody. 'The medical examination of the survivor and the accused persons was conducted in a hospital. The girl's statement was also recorded in the presence of a magistrate,' Khunta police station inspector-in-charge, Panchanan Mohanty, told reporters. He said the accused persons took the survivor to different places and raped her on separate dates. The accused have been booked under several sections of the BNS and POCSO Act, he added. Odisha youth held for raping four-year-old girl
JAJUR: Police on Monday arrested a youth for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl in Jajpur town. The accused is 26-year-old Alekh Malik of Chhatrapada in Dasarathapur. The crime reportedly took place on Sunday. Police said the accused had come to the girl's village to visit his relative. On Sunday afternoon, he took the minor to the village market on the pretext of giving her chocolates. However, he took her to a secluded area and sexually assaulted her. After committing the crime, the accused dropped the girl at her home, said police. When the girl complained of pain during urination, her family members grew suspicious. On being questioned, she narrated her ordeal before them. In the night, the family members confronted Alekh's relatives over the incident. However, the accused's relatives allegedly assaulted them. Subsequently, the girl's father filed a complaint in Jajpur Town police station. Basing on the complaint, police registered a case under relevant sections of the BNS and POCSO Act. While the accused was arrested, the girl was admitted to the district headquarters hospital for treatment.

Man arrested for raping 13-year-old in Odisha's Balasore
BALASORE: Police on Wednesday arrested a 50-year-old man on charges of raping a minor girl in Basta area of Balasore district. According to police, the accused, Karunakar Behera of Gaon Amarda within Basta police limits, was well-acquainted with the 13-year-old girl and her family. Sources said the minor had gone to Behera's house on Sunday when the latter's family members were not at home. Taking advantage of their absence, Behera took the girl to his bedroom and reportedly raped her. On hearing her screams, one of Behera's neighbours reached the spot and rescued the girl. She then dropped the minor at her house. On reaching home, the girl narrated her plight to her parents. Subsequently, the parents filed an FIR in Gaon Amarda police station against the accused. Basing on the complaint, police registered a case under relevant sections of the BNS and POCSO Act. Investigating officer Bijay Barik said the accused was arrested and produced in court. He was remanded in judicial custody after his bail plea was rejected. Further investigation is underway.

Man On Bail In Child Sex Abuse Case Arrested Again For Harassing The Girl
Berhampur (Odisha): Odisha Police on Tuesday arrested a 27-year-old man, an accused in a child sexual abuse case, who was out on bail, for allegedly again chasing the victim and obstructing her way while she was returning from school. The accused, a carpenter by profession belonging to K Nuagaon police station area, was arrested under various sections of the BNS and POCSO Act, after the father of the 14-year-old girl lodged an FIR in Baidyanathpur police station against him on Monday. During investigation, it came to light that the accused was arrested on March 31, under different sections of the BNS and POCSO Act. He remained in judicial custody for about four months before being released on bail, recently, said SP (Berhampur) Saravana Vivek M. After being released on bail, he again tried to commit a similar offence with the same victim and stalked her and obstructed her by threatening dire consequences, he said. In another case, police arrested a 29-year-old man of Santoshpur, near Hinjili, for allegedly attempting to rape a 27-year-old woman Sanskrit teacher of a private school in Ganjam district. The accused was identified as Jeevan Mishra, a pharmacist, police said The victim came in contact with the accused through Instagram about a year ago. They developed friendship and regularly communicated through phone calls. On July 13, the accused offered to help her in shopping in Berhampur. He picked her up and took her to the Bada Bazar area. Later, he took her to his aunt's house, where he allegedly touched her private part and attempted to sexually assault her. She, however, managed to escape. As prima-facie evidence was well adduced, he was arrested, said SP (Berhampur).
