Aldi to launch Lumberjack sauce range in stores soon
It will become the first supermarket to stock the Lumberjack sauce range, which won investment from Emma Grede on the BBC business show. Brothers Brendan and Jayden Manders started out their enterprise from their mum's kitchen with just £100 each and are now fulfilling their mission of "bringing bold flavour to [the] family table". Two of their sauces will be launched as a Specialbuy in Aldi stores from Sunday, August 17. A post shared by Lumberjaxe Food Company (@lumberjaxefood) The Lumberjaxe Backyard BBQ Sauce and Lumberjaxe Moonshine Mango Sauce will be sold for £3.99 each in 250g containers. Aldi added: "While Backyard BBQ offers a classically rich, smoky and sticky flavour, Moonshine Mango brings a sweet and fruity taste with a hint of spice. "Whether being used to marinate or simply to dip, the sauces promise to add a flavour that packs a punch." Shoppers will need to be quick if they want to get their hands on the sauces though, because as a Specialbuy, once the products are all sold, that will be it. Lumberjaxe co-founder, Brendan Manders, said: 'Honestly, it's a bit surreal. If someone told us last year we'd be in Aldi stores, we'd have laughed! A post shared by Lumberjaxe Food Company (@lumberjaxefood) "We're just buzzing that even more people can now try our sauces without paying a fortune." 'Welcoming, family style and spacious': This Germantown BBQ restaurant just opened
Imagine going to a huge family backyard barbecue with many aunts, cousins and other family members. Fresh chicken or pork is simmering, providing an enticing aroma. You can sit at any picnic table and say to someone, "How is it going?" That's the vibe that Brian Hower, who will be preparing the barbecue at Germantown's new restaurant, Trible B's Backyard BBQ, is going for. This Texas-style barbecue restaurant, located in the former Barley Pop Pub's restaurant, will be "welcoming, family-style and spacious," Hower said. "We set our dining room up kind of like a picnic area to give it that feel," he said. "Everyone is friends in here." Hower, who started working at restaurants when he was 14, said he's always enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Hower said he built and perfected two smokers with his late friend, Jack, and he began smoking meats to perfection for friends and family. He started supplying smoked meat for Blackstone Creek Golf Club in Germantown and then for the Fire Ridge Golf Club in Grafton. Hower said Trible B's Backyard BBQ opened in mid-February, and Hower is creating the barbecue there. Trible B's Backyard BBQ is located at N116 W16137 Main St. in Germantown. Hower said what makes their food special is the barbecue items are fresh and smoked daily. "We take much pride in smoking meats. (It) took a lot of practice to get to where we are at," he said, adding that all their meats are smoked and no sauce is added during the smoking process. Hower said the loaded tater tots are probably the most unique item on Trible B's menu. He said the tots are served with "your choice of smoked meat, then topped with our homemade cheese sauce, sour cream and chives." Trible B's menu includes briskets, pulled pork, smoked sausage and pulled chicken. It also features appetizers such as pork belly burnt ends, mozzarella sticks, cheese curds and smoked wings. In the future, Hower said Trible B's Backyard BBQ will feature smoked prime rib. Trible B's currently does not feature a fish fry. But Hower said the eatery will eventually have fish on the Friday menu ― either deep-fried cod or smoked salmon. Trible B's Backyard BBQ's hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The restaurant is closed Sunday and Monday.
