When Selena Gomez Got A Rash After Her First Kiss With Benny Blanco

Last Updated: The couple, speaking on a podcast, also reflected on their early dates and Gomez's initial anxiety. Despite her nerves, the pair's romance blossomed, culminating in an engagement. Music producer Benny Blanco revealed that his fiancée Selena Gomez was nervous during their first memorable kiss that she developed a rash on her face. The couple shared this amusing anecdote during their appearance on Table Manners podcast hosted by singer Jessie Ware and her mother Lennie. Blanco, 37, reminiscing the moment said they were playing a card game at home and one of the cards prompted them to click a selfie together. He said Gomez climbed onto his chest to snap the picture. He shared right after that he looked at her and thought he has 'to kiss the girl". However, the Only Murders in the Building star, 32, had a surprising physical reaction. Blanco elaborating on the incident said she was so nervous; that her heart was palpitating and she began getting a rash on her face. When Lennie jokingly asked whether the Bad Liar singer was allergic to him, Blanco responded playfully saying she was. Gomez during the conversation said she was nervous due to the depth of her feelings. The Rare Beauty chief admitted she had not liked anyone in a long time and when a person recognises feelings behind a kiss, it is different. She also confessed she was a little embarrassed. Blanco shared another anecdote about Gomez; he said in early stages of their relationship; the singer would arrive at his home 20 to 30 minutes early for their date. He said she would wait in her car outside until the official time, stated a report in Page Six. Blanco laughed as he recalled that Selena was unaware of his house having security cameras and that he could see her car parked outside his home. Gomez said she wanted the time to call a friend for a pep talk or a quick makeup touch-up before their date. Benny and Selena have been friends for years but only began dating in June 2023. Six months later, they announced their relationship on social media. In December 2024, Blanco proposed to the singer with a marquise diamond ring which was a tribute to their 2015 hit song Good For You. Reflecting on their journey, Blanco shared a black-and-white picture of the fateful selfie last month and wrote that courting Selena was the best decision he made. First Published:

Selena Gomez's Smashes Dance Back Onto The Charts, Joining Her New Top 10

Selena Gomez returns to the U.K. charts with a top 10 debut for 'Younger and Hotter Than Me' and ... More comebacks for 'Bad Liar' and 'Fetish' on the physical singles tally. BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA - JANUARY 10: Selena Gomez Celebrates the Launch of Rare Beauty's Find Comfort Body Collection on January 10, 2024 in Beverly Hills, California. (Photo byfor Rare Beauty) Selena Gomez has a new hit in the United Kingdom this week, but it's not only her debuting tune that's making notable moves this time around. While one cut finds immediate success, two older tracks resurface on the same chart, which shows that the pop singer's fans are not only embracing her just-dropped material — they're also still rushing to own a few favorites from years past. Two of Gomez's most beloved pop songs are back on the Official Physical Singles chart this week. That list, which focuses exclusively on the bestselling physical tracks — think CDs, vinyl, and other collectible formats — is playing host to a minor Gomez resurgence at the moment. The clear winner among the returns is 'Bad Liar,' which reenters inside the top 40, landing at No. 33. Joining that tune on the tally is 'Fetish,' her slinky collaboration with Gucci Mane. That track doesn't rebound quite as high, but it still manages to make its way back onto the tally at No. 65. Although they're separated by more than 30 spots on the latest frame of the Official Physical Singles chart, 'Bad Liar' and 'Fetish' have almost identical histories on the ranking. This latest frame marks 'Bad Liar's' tenth week on the list. Meanwhile, 'Fetish' edges it out ever so slightly, having now spent 11 turns in total somewhere on the roster. When it comes to peak positions, however, 'Bad Liar' holds the advantage. The tune previously climbed all the way to No. 5. 'Fetish' never rose quite as high, stalling two rungs beneath its counterpart's peak. While her past singles are enjoying another moment on the ranking, Gomez also has something brand new to celebrate. The singer's latest offering, 'Younger and Hotter Than Me,' a collaboration with her fiancé Benny Blanco, opens at No. 4 on both the Official Physical Singles and Official Vinyl Singles charts. The track appears on the duo's recently-released collaborative album I Said I Love You First, which has already delivered multiple hits. Gomez is particularly busy on the Official Physical Singles chart this frame, as she manages to place a fourth title on the tally. 'Sunset Blvd,' another team-up with Blanco, slips slightly from its debut position of No. 9 to No. 12. On the Official Vinyl Singles list, 'Sunset Blvd' mirrors that dip almost exactly, sliding from No. 9 to No. 11. As 'Younger and Hotter Than Me' launches and 'Bad Liar' and 'Fetish' reappear, one more Gomez-Blanco collaboration is quietly gaining ground. 'Bluest Flame,' another selection from I Said I Love You First, improves its standing on the Official Singles chart — the most competitive and important songs ranking in the U.K. Last week, 'Bluest Flame' arrived at No. 55. This time around, it climbs to No. 47, making forward progress even as the album that houses it begins to fade in popularity.

Selena Gomez Could Lose Title of 'Most Followed Woman' on Instagram Amid Deportation Video Backlash

Selena Gomez's reign as the most followed woman on Instagram could be in jeopardy, with the singer and actress reportedly losing over 700,000 followers in the last month. With a staggering 422 million followers, Gomez took the crown from Kylie Jenner back in March 2023. However, recent events including backlash over her emotional video about deportations and the critical reception of her movie Emilia Pérez , have led to a significant drop in her follower count. Earlier this week, Gomez shared a tearful video on Instagram in response to President Donald Trump's mass deportations of undocumented immigrants. The emotional clip quickly sparked a backlash, particularly from Republican and MAGA supporters, including U.S. Senate candidate Sam Parker, who went as far as calling for the Bad Liar singer—who is of Mexican descent—to be deported. Although Gomez deleted the video shortly after posting it, the damage had been done. In the 24 hours following the video's release, she lost over 44,000 followers in a single day. By the end of the week, Gomez had shed a total of 116,833 followers, with her overall loss reaching 808,500 over the past 30 days. CritiqueJeu , an app analytics firm, tracked the decline in Gomez's social media following and cited her involvement in Emilia Pérez as another factor contributing to the dip. The film, despite earning 13 Academy Award nominations, has been heavily criticized, especially by Mexican audiences, who have criticized Gomez's Spanish language skills and the film's portrayal of their culture. The backlash, combined with the response to her deportation video, has made 2025 a rocky start for the actress, whose personal and professional controversies are affecting her public image. As the criticism mounted, a source close to the star explained to MailOnline that Gomez's decision to delete the video was motivated by her concern that it showed "weakness." The source added, 'She realizes that she cannot go up against a Republican backed nation - many of whom are loyal customers of her Rare Beauty brand. She does not wish to alienate. She is going to stay out of politics and in her own lane after that drama.' Despite her passion for advocating on behalf of immigrants, Gomez reportedly felt that the emotional nature of her video led to it being perceived as counterproductive. 'She realized that the message and video actually turned out to be counterproductive due to her emotional state in the video,' the source continued. On social media, critics were quick to slam the video, accusing Gomez of being "shallow" and "narcissistic." British journalist Piers Morgan also chimed in, calling it "a new level of absurd celebrity narcissism." Despite these challenges, Gomez has continued to speak out about her Mexican-American heritage and the importance of immigration reform. In a 2019 Time magazine essay, she shared her family's immigration story, which began in the 1970s when her aunt crossed the border from Mexico to the U.S. in the back of a truck. She noted, 'As a Mexican American woman, I feel a responsibility to use my platform to be a voice for people who are too afraid to speak.' As for her massive Instagram following, it remains to be seen whether the loss of followers will be permanent or if Gomez will find a way to recover. Whatever happens, it's clear that Selena Gomez's journey as a public figure continues to be a whirlwind of highs and lows.
