Stacey Solomon's co-star issues three-word response to Bafta reaction backlash

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Stacey Solomon came under fire with fans after she took to social media to express her "devastation" after her show Sort Your Life Out didn't scoop up a Bafta Award despite being nominated twice. And now her co-star Dilly Carter has leapt to her defence with a three-word response: "Good for you!" ITV Loose Women panellist Stacey was left in tears after her BBC home renovation programme was nominated for two two awards, Entertainment Performance and Factual Entertainment, but didn't win either category. In an emotional update shared with fans after the event Stacey was clearly upset that she and her team had left the ceremony empty handed. She lost out on Entertainment Performance to Joe Lycett's Late Night Lycett on Channel 4 and also to Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour, BBC Two show. The TV personality told fans: "We didn't win a Bafta and I know I'm supposed to take it gracefully like a champ but I'll be honest I'm devastated," as she laughed while stating that she was "handling it" very well. Following her online outburst, the TV star has faced criticism for not taking the loss graciously. On ITV's Lorraine on Tuesday, host Christine Lampard, standing in as Lorraine Kelly recovers at home after surgery, was joined by Dilly for a fashion segment - and she jumped on the opportunity to quiz her about Stacey's Instagram video. She asked: "What do you think? She was just sort of being real wasn't she?" Dilly said her response to Stacey's video was "good for you". She told Christine: "She is our fearless leader for a reason that's what we have to remember and I agree with her in certain respects because it's not about us it's about the production" Dilly continued to defend Stacey for speaking out: "So much goes into that show and that's why we are a bit like 'ohh', you know were just a little bit heartbroken for everyone because everyone works so hard." She continued: "I think yeah, good for you, absolutely say it how it was. I would have been more like 'oh no don't say anything' but you know she's like that. "I think she's absolutely right, I support her as always and like I say she's a fearless leader for a reason." Christine interjected: "It's not to take away from Rob and Rylan obviously because they're still brilliant but you just love your team." Dilly replied: "Of course, everyone in an award show wants their team to do well. Everyone wants to win." Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV1, from 9am.

Danny Dyer career update after his sweary Baftas speech and EastEnders jibe

Danny Dyer was overcome with emotion as he accepted the award for Best Male Performance at the 2025 Bafta TV Awards Danny Dyer left everyone speechless when he nabbed a prestigious Bafta Award on Sunday, May 11, with his typically colourful language adding some spice to the proceedings. Overcome with emotion, yet true to his EastEnders hardman persona, he didn't hold back on the expletives during his acceptance speech. The host for the evening, Alan Cumming, wasn't caught off guard though, he quickly jumped in to apologise to viewers at home for the actor's fruity on-air antics. ‌ Celebrating his win for Best Male Performance in Sky Comedy's 'Mr Bigstuff', Danny admitted with a cheeky grin: "The acting was so bad it was funny." ‌ He then set tongues wagging by dropping the F-bomb repeatedly, flouting the Bafta's language guidelines, despite having faced a warning earlier on. Despite the few choice words, the former soap star's message resonated with the audience as he admitted to being "choked up" and sweetly referenced his two daughters during his heartfelt thanks at London's Royal Festival Hall, reports Belfast Live. Here, is an insight into Danny Dyer's notorious speech, his nod to EastEnders, and where he's heading in his career next. The full speech A good chunk of the 47-year-old's candid speech was edited out due to the risqué content, but his gratefulness couldn't be clearer from the snippets that survived. He kicked things off by expressing gratitude to Sky for taking a chance on their show, saying: "I want to thank Sky for giving our show a shot. F***ing hell, I'm choked up." In particular, he highlighted Ryan Sampson, the writer he holds in high esteem. ‌ Continuing with his thank yous, Danny quipped: "He's one of the greatest people ever to come out of Rotherham - not saying much. You won this for me mate." Danny further heaped praise on Ryan who is also an actor, proclaiming: "One of the best actors this country's ever produced, I'm telling you. Never done the same thing twice. Which is not something I can say. "He wrote this part for me, so you know... I'm getting choked up again, f*** me. So you won this for me, mate, I really appreciate it. Thank you so much." ‌ In an emotional moment, the star of The Rivals expressed his gratitude towards his daughters, Dani, 28, and Sunnie, 18, who were in the audience, beaming with pride as they witnessed their father's triumph: "Girls, Sunnie and Dani... I've done it, girls, I've f***ing done it." Upon Danny's departure from the stage, host Alan Cumming stepped in to express apologies for any offence caused by the "naughty language". What Danny Dyer said away from the cameras ‌ While backstage and still riding high from his award victory, Danny didn't hold back during a chat with the Metro newspaper, he giggled: "Oh, there'll be some people fuming!", and assertively declared: "I don't know, man. I've earned it. I only want one, I don't need more than this. I'm happy." Reflecting on his previous recognitions and subtly jabbing at his time on EastEnders, he said: "I've lifted a couple of NTAs over the years, and I always like to win awards and lose them, do the moody clap [pretending] that you're happy for someone else... I've done all that b******s, and I thought I'd be doing that tonight." Reflecting on his recent triumphs with both Mr Bigstuff and Rivals, he shared: "I've had a really good run this year. Rivals has been so well received. A bit odd, really. I've got Rivals sitting there, and I've got Mr Bigstuff there." ‌ On to big things Fans are in for a treat as the critically acclaimed Mr Bigstuff makes its comeback with Danny at the helm in Sky Comedy's spotlight, gearing up for its much-anticipated second season. While we're all on tenterhooks for the release date of series two on Sky and Now, the network has teased that the premiere is slated for "later in 2025", with Danny set to dazzle audiences once again as the brash brother Lee. ‌ Disney + Rivals fans will be ecstatic to hear that Danny is set to return to the role of businessman Freddie Jones once more, a role that snagged him the British Press Guild Award for Best Actor and the RTS Television Award for Supporting Actor. The exact timing for the return of series two remains shrouded in mystery, with some media outlets speculating "later in 2025" or "early 2026". Yet, an insider on ITV's Lorraine hinted at a much sooner date, suggesting "July 2025". Chatting with Andi Peters, who was filling in on ITV's Lorraine on Monday, May 12, Ria Hebden let slip: "Rivals, we now know it'll back on screens this July." Rivals will return to Disney + at some time in the near future and Mr Bigstuff will return to Sky and Now, also at a near point in 2025.

The adventure was dubbed "the most unlikely cricket tour that almost didn't happen". However, he faced stiff competition from Netflix's American Nightmare, Channel 4's The Push: Murder on The Cliff, and To Catch a Copper, which also aired on Channel 4. To Catch a Copper - which investigates officer misconduct within the Avon and Somerset Police, shedding light on misogyny, abuse of power and racial profiling in the process - ultimately took home the prize at the ceremony. Field of Dreams has proven a massive hit for the BBC, with a third series already being greenlit. Freddie will work the same magic on another gaggle of teenagers from his home city on the new show - but The Sun exclusively revealed they will all be girls this time round. A TV insider said: 'Freddie didn't see why the young women in Preston shouldn't get the same chances as the boys, particularly as more and more female teams are popping up across the country. 'After all, the whole point of the show is to provide equal opportunities and use the sport to help people regardless of their background. So why should gender be a barrier?' The snub for the series comes after the star was widely praised for another documentary, Flintoff, which followed the star's mental and physical recovery from a near-death car crash on the set of Top Gear. Released on Disney+, Flintoff gave cameras access to his life, doctors' appointments and home as he dealt with life-changing injuries to his face. TV Baftas 2025: Maura Higgins, Tasha Ghouri and Ella Morgan lead the glamour as stars arrive on glitzy red carpet His family also share the impact it had on them, with Freddie's three-year-old being too scared to go near him in the wake of the accident. In a brutally honest chat, he admits he got so low that he wished the crash would have killed him, and refused to leave the house for eight months. The release comes amid a very busy year for Flintoff, who has also already committed to a series of Bullseye for ITV. Why has Kay Burley quit Sky News? Presenter says goodbye after 36 years

Kay Burley announced her retirement from Sky News live on air on Wednesday after 36 years with the channel. The 64-year-old was part of the team which launched Sky News in 1989. She has covered some major news stories, including the death of Diana, Princess of Wales and 9/11, for which she won the broadcaster a Bafta Award. She asked her breakfast show viewers to keep in touch and said she would continue posting on her social media. Here's why she has quit Sky News. She told viewers she wanted to enjoy her 'other passions, including my love for travel' after 'over a million minutes of live TV news, more than anyone else in the world'. The Wigan-born presenter added: 'So, after covering 12 separate general elections, including Sir Keir Starmer's victory last year, I am retiring from Sky News, let politicians of every party just rejoice at that news. Kay Burley has just unexpectedly announced her retirement from Sky News live on air. — Gavan Reilly (@gavreilly) February 5, 2025 'Thank you for waking up and tuning in every morning. I can't tell you how much I have appreciated your support over the last three and a half decades — you're awesome.' Burley was suspended from her role for six months in 2020 after admitting she broke Covid-19 rules while celebrating her birthday. She returned to Sky News on June 7, 2021. Burley was a contestant on ITV's Dancing on Ice in 2017. The following year, she was part of the second series of Celebrity Hunted. She began her journalism career at BBC Local Radio and Tyne Tees Television before joining Sky News. Burley has become a prominent figure in British journalism, known for her incisive interviews. David Rhodes, Sky News Executive Chairman, confirmed Wednesday was her last day on air. 'Talking with Kay about her plans, we all felt it was more fitting that Kay break this story herself,' he said. 'She's done that now in her own words, and we'll be sharing the clip on social channels today. 'A founding member of Sky News, Kay helped build our proposition from its launch in 1989. She has been a constant presence on our screens over the course of our 36 years. 'Kay confirmed that today was her final broadcast with Sky News. Of course, Breakfast continues — with the other current presenters and with our Friday-Sunday team. 'We thank Kay for her huge contribution to Sky, to the art of the interview and to British journalism. And we wish her the best of luck.' The presenter has one son called Alexander Kutner with football agent Steve Kutner. She has been married twice: first to fellow reporter Steve Burley and later to Kutner. Alexander's exact age is unknown, but he is reportedly about 31 or 32, after being born in 1993. While Burley keeps her social media strictly for work, she occasionally posts about her son. In April 2024, she posted a picture of him with the family dog on her Instagram account. In March 2022, she promoted her son's new collector car market consultant business, Wolf Hub, on Instagram. She wrote: 'Check out my son's new business and maybe give him a follow? I maybe biased but its excellent.' Burley shared a photo of the pair enjoying an exotic safari excursion in February 2024. She captioned the photo: 'My son and I love safari. #Archive.'
