Is Saiyaara's viral title track copied from One Direction's Night Changes? Tanishk Bagchi spills the truth
Saiyaara title track: The title track of Saiyaara has taken the internet by storm, but it hasn't been without controversy. Many users have highlighted its noticeable resemblance to One Direction's hit song Night Changes, sparking widespread speculation online. As debates grew over whether the song was inspired by or copied from the original, composer Tanishk Bagchi stepped in to address the rumours and set the record straight. Is Saiyaara's viral title track copied from One Direction's Night Changes? If you're a One Direction fan, then you've surely heard Night Changes, one of the band's most popular and record-breaking tracks. This comes amid all the buzz surrounding Saiyaara. As soon as the Saiyaara title track was released, many felt its tune was strikingly similar to One Direction's Night Changes. Some even accused the makers of copying the song and lacking originality. However, now, the singer of Saiyaara's title track Tanishk Bagchi has set the record straight. In a recent interview with India Today, Tanishk Bagchi finally addressed the controversy surrounding Saiyaara and its alleged similarities to One Direction's Night Changes. Breaking his silence, Bagchi stated that no matter what he does, people will always find something negative to say, claiming, 'They don't have anything better to do. They keep on looking for opportunities to put me down.' He went on to explain that Saiyaara is following its own path and resonating with listeners. Regarding the comparisons, Bagchi acknowledged that while the chords may be similar, the melody has a unique identity. 'The A minor scale has just about 3–4 chords, but every melody has a different soul,' he said. Once known primarily for remixing classic songs, Bagchi also pointed out that creating a hit is never easy, even when drawing from familiar elements. He emphasized, 'All said and done, we didn't steal anything. The similarities are fine, it can happen, but it's not like we did it on purpose.' Addressing the plagiarism claims directly, he clarified, 'Idhar se utha ke udhar nahi kiya (We didn't pick something from there and paste it here). We worked on the emotion of the song, and that worked. That's the magic of Saiyaara.' Saiyaara box office collection On Monday (day 11), Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's Saiyaara saw its lowest single-day collection yet, earning Rs 9.25 crore, a steep 68.33% drop from Sunday's Rs 30 crore haul. Following a record-breaking opening week with a total of Rs 172.75 crore, Saiyaara entered its second week with steady momentum. The film collected Rs 18 crore on its second Friday, followed by a strong weekend performance with Rs 26.5 crore on Saturday and Rs 30 crore on Sunday.

Tanishk Bagchi denies Saiyaara track being copied from One Direction, Jubin Nautiyal
The title track of 'Saiyaara' is bringing joy not just to audiences with its melody and lyrics, but also to the makers, as it climbs the global charts. The Tanishk Bagchi-composed song currently sits at #4 on Spotify's Top Global chart, and recently topped the Viral Top 50 the growing adulation, the team has also faced criticism for parts of the tune sounding similar to One Direction's 'Night Changes' and Jubin Nautiyal's 'Humnava Mere'. In an exclusive chat with India Today, Tanishk denied these I do, people will have something to say because they don't have [anything better to do]. They keep on looking for opportunities to put me down. But ultimately, the song will go wherever it's destined to, and that's what's happening with Saiyaara too. As for the comparisons, if you look at the melody, the chords are the same. The A minor scale has just about 3-4 chords but every melody has a different soul. That doesn't mean that anything was stolen. Even if you can do that, it's really difficult to make it a hit," he shared. Bagchi further shared, "All said and done, we didn't steal anything. The similarities are fine, it can happen, but it's not like we did it on purpose. Idhar se utha ke udhar nahi kiya (we didn't pick and add anything). We worked on the emotion of the song, and that worked. That's the magic of the track 'Saiyaara'."The music composer discussed the song's global popularity, sharing that while this was something he had always dreamt about, he didn't know it would surpass his expectations."The best thing is that it's an original Hindi song, a pure Hindi song. There is no collaboration with foreign artists; everyone associated is home-grown, so that's a big achievement for me. I did have an intuition that this could go viral, but I never expected it to top global charts. I think it's purely the hard work on the song and the pure intention that worked in its favour," he added that his team and even his family, including his mother and sister, are following the charts continuously and keeping him updated about the song's Bagchi further shared that he's always looked at as someone who only does recreation, and hence 'Saiyaara's' success will also help me break out of that mould. "People do come to me saying only I can do the recreation, and I know I will have to indulge it. I can't say no to everything, even though it only gets me abused. But this song has proved that I can also give an original superhit too. The issue is that these opportunities don't come every day. If I get enough songs like Saiyaara, then there would be no need to do recreation. But till then, I have to also survive," he shared.'Saiyaara' is currently running in theatres. Directed by Mohit Suri, the film features Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday in the lead roles.- EndsYou May Also Like

Vizag cops flag FOB crisis at city junctions
1 2 Visakhapatnam: Vizag city police have raised serious concerns over the lack of pedestrian infrastructure at major traffic junctions, warning that the absence of foot-over bridges (FOBs) and subways is endangering commuters —particularly the elderly and school children. Officials cautioned that without urgent intervention, the city could face severe chaos in the coming years. City police chief Dr Shanka Brata Bagchi said that Vizag city's traffic volume has been increasing for the past few years but the civic bodies have failed to introduce amenities such as foot-over bridges (FOBs), and subways that would allow pedestrians to cross the roads safely and conveniently. Interacting with the newsmen, Shanka Brata Bagchi said they have observed that the pedestrians are forced to cross the busy junctions such as Hanumanthuwaka Junction, Venkojipalem, Isukathota, Maddilapalem, and few other junctions in the city, putting their lives at risk due to absence of FOBs and subways. The civic bodies with the support of the other departments need to address the issue to avoid road crashes in view of pedestrian safety, he opined. As per the road transport authority, Vizag city has over 13 lakh vehicles, including around nine lakh two-wheelers. On average, at least 50,000 new vehicles (cars, two-wheelers, and others) have been added on the roads in a year in Vizag city. However, Vizagites lack proper footpaths, FOBs and subways to cross the major junctions in the city. In fact, even the existing footpaths in parts of the city are in poor shape Many students in parts of the city brave the traffic to cross roads regularly in the absence of FOBs and subways. Though the social activists and police have been appealing the GVMC, NHAI and few other departments to install FOBs at some major junctions in the city, no acton has been taken yet. "We will again pitch for pedestrian-friendly-infrastructure in Vizag city in the coming days as the neglect of pedestrian safety will lead to pedestrian fatalities," said Bagchi.
