Purdue men's basketball's full 2025-26 schedule is nearly complete, with only one possible opponent still unknown. The Boilermakers will participate in the Baha Mar Championship on Nov. 20-21 in Nassua, The Bahamas. Memphis and Wake Forest are also reportedly confirmed for the event, leaving one spot still unaccounted for. Purdue announced Tuesday it finalized the remainder of its nonconference schedule. The announcement included home games against Evansville, Oakland, Akron and Eastern Illinois, and a preseason exhibition against UIndy. Here is the schedule as it stands with times and TV assignments to be announced. Where Tennessee is ranked in final college basketball polls after 2024-25 season
Tennessee basketball finished with its highest postseason ranking in program history for the second straight season. The Vols finished ranked No. 5 in the USA TODAY coaches poll, which marked its finish last season. Their prior top mark was seventh in 2007-08. Tennessee went to the Elite Eight for the third time in program history and the second straight season. It won 30 games for the third time. The Vols were ranked No. 12 in the preseason coaches poll. UT moved up to No. 9 after starting the season 2-0 with wins against Gardner-Webb and at Louisville. It stayed No. 9 after moving to 4-0. Tennessee rolled through the Baha Mar Championship with wins against Virginia and Baylor to reach 6-0 and rise to No. 6. It hopped to No. 3 after beating UT Martin before ascending to No. 1. Chaz Lanier sets Tennessee record for 3-pointers in a season, passing Chris Lofton
LEXINGTON, Ky. − Chaz Lanier set the Tennessee basketball record for 3-pointers in a season Saturday against UCLA. Lanier made his 119th three to break Chris Lofton's record of 118, which he set in his senior season in 2007-08. He made two in the first half against the Bruins at Rupp Arena before making his third at the 16:07 mark of the second half. He joined Lofton and Santiago Vescovi as the three players to make more than 100 3-pointers in a season in UT history. Lanier made his 100th 3-pointer at Ole Miss on March 5. Lofton also made 114 in 2005-06 and 106 during the 2006-07 season. Vescovi made 102 in the 2021-22 season as a junior. Lanier made eight during Tennessee's 77-69 win at Texas A&M on Feb. 22. He made seven against Baylor on Nov. 22 in the Baha Mar Championship. He made six in UT's NCAA Tournament opener against Wofford on Thursday. He also made six against Virginia on Nov. 21 in the Bahamas and against Norfolk State on on Dec. 31. Chaz Lanier shoots No. 2 Tennessee basketball to win vs No. 15 Wofford in March Madness
LEXINGTON, Ky. − Chaz Lanier's first NCAA Tournament resembled many games the lethal scorer played this season. It just happened to be one of the best in Tennessee basketball's March Madness history. The Vols guard smoothly popped out for 3-pointers. He slunk into midrange jumpers. He was at his best and the Vols are marching into the second round of the NCAA Tournament. No. 2 seed Tennessee downed pesky No. 15 seed Wofford 77-62 on Thursday at Rupp Arena in their March Madness opener. The Vols (28-7) will face the winner of No. 7 seed UCLA (22-10) and No. 10 seed Utah State (26-7) on Saturday. The game time and TV designation have yet to be announced. Lanier had 29 points, the third-most in an an NCAA Tournament game in UT history. He made six 3-pointers to tie the UT NCAA Tournament record. UT's four senior guards combined for 57 points against Wofford (19-16) to get Tennessee to the second round for the fourth straight season. Zakai Zeigler had 12 points and 12 assists. Lanier opened up the NCAA Tournament like he opened up the SEC Tournament with a high-scoring game. He was in the middle of a 12-0 run that vaulted the Vols to a double-digit first-half lead. The All-American hit a pair of midrange jumpers then a 3-pointer to extend Tennessee's lead to 22-8 midway through the half. The senior jolted Tennessee's offense quickly in the second half each time Wofford made a push. The Terriers got within 10 points four times in the first eight minutes. Lanier made a field goal to restore Tennessee's lead after three of the four times. Lanier now has the second-most 3-pointers in a season in Tennessee history behind Chris Lofton, who made 118 in the 2007-08 season. Lanier has 116. It needs to keep putting an emphasis on it after Wofford gave the Vols problems rebounding. The Terriers and Vols both had 31 rebounds after the Terriers outrebounded Tennessee 11-3 to open the second half. Wofford had 11 offensive rebounds. Bishop Boswell played four first-half minutes and scored Tennessee's only field goal in the final 6:45 before halftime. The freshman drove late in the shot clock and spun for a layup. It was his first field goal since Nov. 21 against Virginia in the Baha Mar Championship. Boswell snuck in and swiped an offensive rebound away from Wofford shortly after scoring. Tennessee basketball is the No. 6 team in the polls entering the NCAA Tournamnet. The Vols (27-7) are ranked sixth in the USA TODAY coaches poll and the Associated Press poll. They jumped to No. 6 in the AP poll, while remaining sixth in the coaches poll. The Vols earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday and will face No. 15 Wofford (19-15) on Thursday (6:50 p.m. ET, TNT) in Lexington, Kentucky, as part of the Midwest Region.
