Bahrain Wins GCC U16 Tennis Championship With Perfect Record
The Kingdom of Bahrain's national under-16 tennis team clinched the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) title after a flawless campaign, securing five consecutive victories, culminating in a decisive 2-1 win over Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, the final day of the championship hosted by the State of Kuwait from April 11 to 16. In addition to the team's championship triumph, players Ahmed Al Sayed and Marwan Janahi won the Best Khaleeji Players in the under-16 category, further highlighting Bahrain's dominance in the tournament. Bahrain's under-12 team also made a strong impression, taking third place in their category and reinforcing the depth and potential of the Kingdom's tennis development pipeline a key focus of the Bahrain Tennis Federation. Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Tennis Federation, extended his congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and to the Kingdom's sports leadership, led by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Council. Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak emphasised that this achievement reflects the unwavering support of the Kingdom's leadership for Bahraini sport in general and tennis in particular. He expressed his hopes for continued success for the young players as they pursue further regional and international accomplishments. He commended the outstanding performance of the under-16 national team, which earned widespread praise from participating GCC teams. He added that the Federation remains committed to building on this success to advance the sport's future in Bahrain. He also noted that Kuwait continues to be a fortunate host for Bahraini sport, as it has witnessed the crowning of numerous Bahraini teams and clubs across various disciplines. In the final U16 match, Ahmed Al Sayed defeated Saudi Arabia's Ibrahim Saber 6-2, 6-4 in the first singles match. Marwan Janahi then secured victory with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Haidar Al Fareed. Bahrain's doubles team of Redha Abdulnabi and Talal Al Sayed lost to Saudi duo Haidar Al Fareed and Abdulaziz Al Tamimi 0-6, 5-7. In the under-12 category, Bahrain also defeated Qatar 2-1 in their final fixture. Abdullah Shaheen beat Saeed Al Abdulla 6-0, 7-6, while Yousef Kamal defeated Yousef Al Sherawi 6-2, 6-0. The doubles team of Ammar Al Jabal and Isa Zuhair lost to Qatar's Ali Al Abdulla and Saif Al Suwaidi 2-6, 6-7. First Ramadan Women's Tennis Tournament Kicks Off
TDT | Manama The inaugural Ramadan Women's Tennis Tournament, organized by the Women's Committee of the Bahrain Tennis Federation, officially began under the patronage of Honorable MP Iman Shuwaiter. The event is taking place during the blessed month of Ramadan on the courts of the Bahrain Tennis Federation at the Bahrain Polytechnic University in Isa Town. The patron of the event, Hon. MP Iman Shuwaiter, attended part of the first day's matches and praised the organization and the significant participation of women in the tournament. She also took a commemorative photo with the players. Also present on the first day were Mrs. Jamila Al-Nashaba, Board Member of the Bahrain Tennis Federation and Chair of the Women's Committee, and Mrs. Nayla Al-Mir, Board Member and Head of the Public Relations and Marketing Committee. The results of the first day's matches included a win for the duo Iman Farah and Isour Rosemary over Medina Malallah and Sanaa Ashour with a score of 6/1, 5/7, 6/3. The pair Victoria and Aisha Khalfan also triumphed over Mervat Reslan and Israa Aziz with a score of 3/6, 6/2, 10/2. Additionally, Haneen Al-Najjar and Salma Farajallah beat Iman Hamid and Fadiyah Hamzawi 6/4, 6/1, while Yasmin Demiral and Yara Froten won against Hanaa Issa and Amina Abdulqader with a score of 6/3, 6/1. The duo Dipali and Marta emerged victorious over Muneera Al-Fadhil and Shaikha Al-Fadhil with a resounding 6/0, 6/0. The tournament will continue with exciting matches on Saturday at 9:30 PM. The event is sponsored by Blafra Resort in Reef Island, Ronak Beauty Center by expert beautician Wahida, and Al-Fardan Dental Center, managed by Dr. Abbas Al-Fardan. The winners will be awarded cash prizes presented by Hon. MP Iman Shuwaiter, in addition to valuable watches provided by Noon Watches, which generously donated timepieces to the participants.

Bahrain Tennis Federation Launches First Women's Ramadan Tournament
TDT | Manama Under the Patronage of MP Eman Shuwaiter The Bahrain Tennis Federation's Women's Committee has announced the launch of the inaugural Women's Ramadan Doubles Tournament, set to take place every Friday and Saturday in March 2025 at the federation's courts in Isa Town, within the Bahrain Polytechnic campus. Tournament Details & Registration Jamila Al-Nashaba, board member and head of the Women's Committee, confirmed that matches will be held at 9:30 PM on weekends, with the first competition kicking off on March 7. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first and second-place teams. Registration is open via the federation's Instagram bio (@btf_tennis), with a deadline of March 4, 2025. Encouraging Women's Sports Participation Al-Nashaba expressed gratitude to MP Eman Shuwaiter for her support in promoting women's participation in sports, particularly tennis, during Ramadan. She also thanked federation president Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa and the board for their continuous support. The tournament will be managed entirely by women, including officiating and volunteer roles, to nurture future leaders in sports event management.

Khalid bin Rashid Crowns Indonesia as ITF Tennis Championship Winners
TDT | Manama Email : editor@ Sheikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Tennis Federation, crowned Indonesia as the champions of the ITF World Tennis Championship U-14 Asian Qualifiers. The tournament concluded on Saturday at the Bahrain Tennis Federation courts at Polytechnic University in Isa Town. Indonesia secured the title after a commanding 2-0 victory over Sri Lanka in the final. Following the match, Sheikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa presented the trophies to both teams. Indonesia and Sri Lanka Secure Final Round Spots By reaching the final, both Indonesia and Sri Lanka have qualified for the final phase of the Asian qualifiers, which will take place in Malaysia in March. Lebanon Claims Third Place In the third-place match, Lebanon edged past the Philippines 2-1 in a tightly contested battle to secure the bronze medal. After the match, Lebanon was awarded their medals by Bahrain Tennis Federation board member Mohamed Salman, ITF West and Central Asia representative Amir Borghi, and tournament referee Nitian Kanamuar.
