Bahrain Tennis Federation Launches First Women's Ramadan Tournament

The Bahrain Tennis Federation's Women's Committee has announced the launch of the inaugural Women's Ramadan Doubles Tournament, set to take place every Friday and Saturday in March 2025 at the federation's courts in Isa Town, within the Bahrain Polytechnic campus.

Jamila Al-Nashaba, board member and head of the Women's Committee, confirmed that matches will be held at 9:30 PM on weekends, with the first competition kicking off on March 7. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first and second-place teams. Registration is open via the federation's Instagram bio (@btf_tennis), with a deadline of March 4, 2025.
Encouraging Women's Sports Participation
Al-Nashaba expressed gratitude to MP Eman Shuwaiter for her support in promoting women's participation in sports, particularly tennis, during Ramadan. She also thanked federation president Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa and the board for their continuous support.
The tournament will be managed entirely by women, including officiating and volunteer roles, to nurture future leaders in sports event management.

Formula 1 and FIA announce 2026 calendar
Formula 1 and the FIA have announced the calendar for the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship, which will see the introduction of a new venue, new teams and new regulations for the next generation of F1 cars that will run on 100% advanced sustainable fuels. This change creates a consolidated European leg of the season across the summer months, beginning in Monaco from 5-7 June, and finishing in Spain, where Madrid will make its Formula 1 calendar debut from 11-13 September. The Championship then returns to Asia with the Azerbaijan and Singapore Grands Prix, ahead of a triple header in the Americas, before Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi once again close out the season.
