‘Will break all records': Trinamool starts prep for last July 21 rally before '26 polls

Kolkata: Turnout at Trinamool's July 21 Martyrs' Day rally, the last before the 2026 Bengal assembly elections, will break all previous records, the party said on Saturday while releasing posters for the event. This came after a preparatory meet at the Bhowanipore party office. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay said, "The BJP-led Centre, in a planned and calculated move, is trying to stall all the good work being done (in Bengal). But we are alert. We have pledged we will give it (our) all to ensure we break all records of seats (in the polls)." He added, "People are satisfied and happy. They are our strength. We will break all records (of turnout at the July 21 rally). We will do it in a disciplined manner and party workers at all levels will attend." "Lot of (opposition) netas will come and go. They will promise what they will do when in office, will offer temptations, but people in Bengal have faith in Mamata Banerjee , her innovations, her people-friendly schemes (and) her efficiency," Bandopadhyay said. The MP also took aim at Centre for convening the monsoon session of Parliament on July 21. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo "Trinamool is the third largest opposition party in Parliament, after Congress and Samajwadi Party. None of our MPs, in the Lok Sabha or the Rajya Sabha, will be in Delhi on July 21," he said. "It is incredulous that the monsoon session of Parliament was announced 47 days in advance while Centre remained mute on CM Banerjee's demand for a special session to discuss events following the Pahalgam massacre," he added. Talking about the posters released on Saturday, Bandopadhyay said, "The posters have been sent from Camac Street (office of TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee). It has images of only Mamata Banerjee." The posters, released on the party's social media handles, shows CM Banerjee with folded hands and the Trinamool flag in the backdrop.
