Black Panther 3: Angela Bassett on if Queen Ramonda Will Be Resurrected
Actress Angela Bassett, who has portrayed Ramonda in multiple entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, reflected on how her character could return in Black Panther 3 during a new interview. Notably, Ramonda, who became the sovereign of Wakanda following the death of her son T'Challa, was killed herself when Tenoch Huerta Mejía's Namor attacked her country in 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Bassett has expressed interest in returning as Ramonda in Black Panther 3 and speculated on how her character could appear despite being killed in the previous movie. During her appearance on Good Morning America, the hosts asked her about her latest feature, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, and brought up how her Black Panther co-star, Michael B. Jordan, made an appearance at the premiere to support her. One Good Morning America host observed, 'We're talking about 'Mission: Impossible.' It was thrilling…Michael B. Jordan was there, supporting you,' before adding, 'And of course, a lot of people are like, 'Oh my goodness,' talking about Wakanda. Another movie, perhaps a third one.' 'That would be wonderful,' Bassett said in response. She later hypothesized that the character could appear in Black Panther 3 in a scene involving the Ancestral Plane. She said, 'I could be there. You know? It could happen. I would, absolutely.' In the MCU, the Ancestral Plane is an astral dimension where people of Wakanda go after their death. Previously, Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa interacted with his dead father in the Ancestral Plane in Black Panther. A similar encounter happened between Letitia Wright's Shuri and Jordan's Killmonger in Wakanda Forever. Accordingly, it could potentially be how Bassett reprises her role. Notably, Bassett received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Ramonda in Wakanda Forever. During the above-mentioned interview, when another host said that 'we all' wanted Bassett to appear in Black Panther 3, the actress agreed. 'We do. Everyone wants it to happen,' she said. As per reports, the third Black Panther movie could come out in 2028. Originally reported by Tamal Kundu on SuperHeroHype. Born and raised in nearby St. Petersburg, Florida, Bassett shared how meaningful it felt to have a wax figure so close to home. Styled in a dazzling black and gold FARM Rio 'Sunny Mood' jumpsuit, the figure replicates one of Bassett's favorite red carpet looks, originally worn at the Los Angeles premiere of The Book of Clarence . The ensemble is paired with stilettos and gold accessories, showcasing Bassett's signature glamour. Every detail—from the outfit to the makeup—was carefully curated by the star herself, reflecting her hands-on involvement throughout the creative process. 'To have a career that has brought me two wax figures at Madame Tussauds is kind of humbling,' Bassett reflected. 'It's a celebration of longevity and love for the craft.' The figure's realism is thanks to the meticulous efforts of Madame Tussauds' expert team, who took over 200 measurements and reference photos to capture Bassett's exact features. 'Angela was hands-on throughout the process,' said Paul Gould, General Manager at Madame Tussauds Orlando. 'That level of involvement always makes the figure even more lifelike and personal.' After the reveal, Bassett toured the museum, stopping to pose with wax figures of fellow icons like Morgan Freeman, Johnny Depp, and Lady Gaga—who once played her love interest on American Horror Story . This Iconic Carolina Furniture Store Is Closing After 41 Years
After more than four decades in business, Carolina Furniture Direct is calling it quits. The Raleigh-based furniture retailer, located at 8401 Glenwood Ave., is going out of business after 41 years. The closure marks the end of an era for the 30,000-square-foot showroom that's been a fixture in the community since the early 1980s. WRAL reported that the massive liquidation sale begins May 22, with all merchandise marked down by up to 50%. Brands on offer include high-quality names like Bassett, Vaughan-Bassett, England, Leather Italia, Riverside, Coast to Coast, Hickorycraft, and even Tommy Bahama. Both custom and ready-made furnishings are part of the clearance. Ken Ciotti, a manager at the store, said the decision to close stems from the owner's upcoming retirement. He did not provide a specific final day for the store but emphasized that everything must go. Over the years, Carolina Furniture Direct built a reputation for offering a wide selection of home furnishings with a blend of upscale and affordable options. While national chains and online retailers chipped away at the brick-and-mortar furniture business, the Glenwood Avenue location remained a go-to for locals looking for personalized service and long-lasting pieces. Now, with the announcement of its closure, Carolina Furniture Direct joins a growing list of independent retailers shutting down amid shifting industry trends, supply chain changes, and leadership transitions. For Raleigh-area shoppers, this is a rare opportunity to score deep discounts on premium furniture before the doors close for good. But with no official end date announced, customers might not want to wait too long—once it's gone, it's gone.
