Beaubassin East man charged with first-degree murder: N.B. RCMP
An RCMP vehicle is seen in this file photo. A 29-year-old Beaubassin East, N.B., man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a homicide in the community. A 67-year-old man was reported missing to the Shediac RCMP Saturday around 7:20 p.m. Police say the man was last seen on Collins Lake Road in Beaubassin East. The man's body was located in a wooded area near his property early Sunday morning, according to police. 'Over the course of the investigation, police identified a person of interest and at 10:10 a.m. the same morning, a 29-year-old man was arrested in connection with the investigation,' reads a news release from the New Brunswick RCMP. Philippe LeBlanc appeared in Moncton provincial court Monday and was charged with first-degree murder. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court at a later date.
