New Channel 4 documentary 'will chart Taylor Swift's incredible rise to fame and billionaire status'

A new Channel 4 documentary is reportedly set to chart Taylor Swift's incredible rise to fame and billionaire status. The Style hitmaker, 35, began her career singing catchy country music while still in high school in Pennsylvania. Her and her family then moved to Nashville so she could properly pursue a music career, with her self-titled debut album setting the charts alight. She then conquered the pop world, last year finishing up her epic Eras Tour and releasing another critically-acclaimed album The Tortured Poets Department. Now The Sun reports that after officially becoming a billionaire at the end of 2023, Channel 4 have commissioned a new documentary about her incomparable success. A source told the publication: 'All the indications are this won't just be a love letter to Taylor, but a genuine in-depth look at the journey she's been on to become such a star. The Style hitmaker, 35, began her career singing catchy country music while still in high school in Pennsylvania before going on to conquer the industry (seen on The Eras tour) 'That doesn't mean the show will be a hatchet job, but it won't necessarily be a rose-tinted look at her life.' The newspaper reported that Becoming Taylor Swift is being made by Sandpaper Films. The TV insider added: 'Sandpaper is a serious outfit which is renowned for scrutinising important topics and bagging industry awards.' MailOnline has contacted Channel 4 for comment. It is expected to complete filming this year and air in the run-up to Christmas. Last week it was revealed that one of her album's is set to return to the top spot in the UK charts after an influx of signed CDs were released to celebrate its one-year anniversary. The Tortured Poets Department broke records during its original release the biggest opening week for an album in the UK in seven years. The record surpassed Adele's hotly-anticipated album 30 and achieved the largest record sales since superstar Ed Sheeran 's 2017 LP ÷. It is predicted the pop star's most recent album will now make spectacular return to the Official Albums Chart summit this week; eyeing a 23-place jump back to the top. The superstar's eleventh studio LP, which has already clocked 10 non-consecutive weeks at Number 1 in the UK since its release last April, sees a surge thanks to the release of a signed CD edition celebrating the record's one-year anniversary. While Taylor is once again looking destined for chart success, she has also been linked to a new film project. From the moment it was announced that 1992 blockbuster The Bodyguard was being remade there has only been one name in the frame to play the lead actress, Taylor. However last week it was revealed that producers have secretly been speaking to another – very different – global superstar for month, Kim Kardashian. In what might come as something of a shock to Swifties everywhere, The Mail on Sunday learned the script has been 'specifically tailored' to Kim, who is anxious to make her big-screen debut as a leading lady. A source said: 'Everyone immediately assumed Taylor would get the lead, the role played by Whitney Houston in the original film, because The Bodyguard remake is being directed by Sam Wrench who directed the 2023 film about Taylor's Eras Tour. But Warner Bros, the studio remaking the original, are very keen on Kim. 'There have already been multiple meetings and the script has been written with Kim in mind.' Taylor is believed to be working on a new album for release next year and is also reportedly anxious to settle down and start a family with her American football player boyfriend Travis Kelce.

A TV insider said: 'All the indications are this won't just be a love letter to Taylor, but a genuine in-depth look at the journey she's been on to become such a star. 'That doesn't mean the show will be a hatchet job, but it won't necessarily be a rose-tinted look at her life.' Becoming Taylor Swift is being made by Sandpaper Films, which has a reputation for tackling serious subjects. Other programmes the production company has created include Sky's Doom Scroll: Andrew Tate And The Dark Side Of The Internet and the BBC's The Untold Story Of Baby P, which looked at the tragic killing of 17-month-old Peter Connelly. A TV insider added: 'Sandpaper is a serious outfit which is renowned for scrutinising important topics and bagging industry awards.' Its documentary on the Shake It Off hitmaker is likely to look at how the girl from Pennsylvania started her journey in the world of country music before becoming a huge mainstream artist who went on to sell 114 million albums. It is expected to complete filming this year and air in the run-up to Christmas. Taylor is the latest in a string of music stars which Channel 4 has profiled in recent years, albeit for very different reasons. Other documentaries have included 2023's George Michael: Outed, which looked at the Wham! star coming out of the closet, and this year's expose of Marilyn Manson's shocking hidden life, which I exclusively revealed last year. Travis Kelce showers Taylor Swift with $140,000 worth of glam Valentine's Day gifts including Cartier watch and flowers I somehow doubt the Swifty doc will be uncovering anything quite that dark. 4 Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce Credit: Getty 4 Swift is worth an estimated £1.2BILLION Credit: Getty Unlock even more award-winning articles as The Sun launches brand new membership programme - Sun Club.
