Random Musings: If K-Pop fans don't get ya, Beer Biceps must

The Indian response, official and unofficial, in the face of Pakistani terrorism – and disinformation – has been as sublime as a vintage Virat Kohli cover drive, which is saying something because that cover drive is the closest proof we have to the existence of a higher being, much like a Lionel Messi shoulder drop and a Roger Federer down-the-line backhand. From PM Modi's speech to the official press conferences, every response has been measured, calculated with a touch of class. Take DGMO Rajiv Ghai's sublime remark from a vintage Ashes series to explain the surgical precision of India's aerial offence: 'Dust to dust, ashes to ashes, if Thommo don't get ya, Lillee must!' The same could be said for India's unofficial response which can be summed up with: Dust to dust, hashtag to ashes, if K-pop fans don't get you, then Beer Biceps must. Much like Pepsi's World Cup slogan of 1999, there was nothing official about it, but it definitely struck a chord. For those living under a rock, the Indian internet, normally, is a living embodiment of VS Naipaul's A Million Mutinies Now. There are millions of fights going on at the same time. There's Kohli vs Rohit, BTS vs Blackpink, Messi vs Ronaldo, Ranbir vs Ranveer fans, Salman vs SRK, ChatGPT vs Gemini, Trads vs Raytas, BJP vs Congress IT Cells – but all internecine fights were put to rest amid the siren call of war and Indians became unhinged dogs of war against anyone trying to push Pakistan's narrative: Pakistanis with VPNs who were on Twitter, YouTube channels pushing the Pakistani agenda, or even mainstream publications pushing Pakistan's narrative without any fact checks. Much like the different war cries of each division of the infantry, every fan group had its say. It was the internet version of the portal scene from Avengers: Endgame as Indians of all ilk turned up for duty. Fact checkers spent day and night taking down fake Pakistani videos. OSINT experts buried Pak lies in real time, even forcing mainstream media to check its sources. Football fans wondered if Pakistan was the Arsenal of the world. Travel influencers asked folks to avoid countries like Turkey or Azerbaijan which openly supported Pakistan and instead gave alternatives. Hackers took down popular Pakistani Twitter handles including the Karachi port one. On Instagram, the viral Khan Chacha decapitated Pakistan's weapons with the humour that we have come to expect from the enlightened land of Buddha. And when Pakistanis abused Indian Muslims, the most hardcore right-wingers hit back – with language so unparliamentary and so unpublishable – that it would make Sardar Khan blush. But perhaps the most surprising to casual observers was the ferocity of K-pop fans who are the most motivated group of stans on the internet, which makes every other fan group look like genteel and toothless crones. Normally preoccupied with fan cams and Melon charts, they unleashed a digital blitzkrieg under the Tricolour. Sriya Lenka , India's first K-pop idol, posted a tribute to Indian forces. Their memes landed with the force of a Jungkook drop-kick. And then finally, Ranveer Allahabadia (BeerBiceps) found his redemption arc after the ill-advised (and plagiarised incest joke) as he sent Pakistanis packing on the Piers Morgan show. Perhaps, they thought that the popular podcaster would be a lightweight amid a former defence minister but Allahabadia more than held his ground. Because what the BrahMos and S-400 do on the battlefield, the Indian internet just did in cyberspace. Like the Sudarshan Chakra – precision, devastation, zero lag. Like Tejas flying sorties through troll timelines, like Arjun tanks rolling through fake narratives, like INS Vikrant launching meme strikes from digital waters. This was Agni-level assertion with Akash-level accuracy. No latency. No apologies. India's digital defence is now officially world-class. But there's nothing remotely surprising about the unity of Indians. Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen wrote in Identity & Violence: 'There can be a great variety of categories to which we simultaneously belong. I can be, at the same time, an Asian, an Indian citizen, a Bengali with Bangladeshi ancestry, an American or British resident, an economist, a dabbler in philosophy, an author, a Sanskritist, a strong believer in secularism and democracy, a man, a feminist, a heterosexual, a defender of gay and lesbian rights, with a nonreligious lifestyle, from a Hindu background, a non-Brahmin, and a non-believer in the afterlife. This is just a small sample of diverse categories to each of which I may simultaneously belong – there are, of course, a great many other membership categories too which, depending on circumstances, can move and engage me.' Now multiply that by 1.46 billion, and you get the complexity of being Indian. A country of 1.46 billion people from different races, ethnicities, languages, creeds, castes, and religions, who participate in a panchayat to parliament democracy, who have never seen a problem with a changing of the guards. India is the most unique experiment that has existed. Nowhere in the world have so many people lived together peacefully. In contrast stands Pakistan: the sibling state that was cut from the same colonial cloth but turned itself into a uniformed theocracy. In 75 years, not a single Prime Minister has completed a full term. Military coups are seasonal, and terror groups are just another wing of the state. A country of India's magnitude will always have internal strife and fights. But when the time comes, Indians of all ilk will unite. Before the internet, the world could get away with mendacious claims. As an old African proverb goes: 'Until the lions have their historians, tales of the hunt shall always glorify the hunter.' But now, the lion has WiFi. And when you go hunting, the lion will get you. And if it can't, the K-pop stans will.

Ranveer Allahbadia shows Osama Bin Laden, Hafiz Abdul Rauf pictures on Piers Morgan show, talks about Pakistan terrorism

Indian Podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, known for his YouTube channel BeerBiceps, is again in limelight for his response to the India-Pakistan conflict on the Piers Morgan Uncensored show. Ranveer, who runs the podcast The Ranveer Show on his channel, was part of a panel alongside Indian journalist Barkha Dutt, foreign minister of Pakistan Hina Khar and Shehzad Ghias Shaikh from The Pakistan Express. During the discussion, Ranveer shows a picture of Osama Bin Laden and says, 'He was found 800 metres away from a military base in Pakistan. This is the face the world recognises.' Laden, founder of the terrorist organisation Al-Qaida, was killed by the United States Navy SEALs in Pakistan on May 2, 2011. Ranveer also shows the photograph of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Hafiz Abdul Rauf, who is allegedly seen at the funeral of those who got killed in the Indian missile attacks as part of Operation Sindoor. 'This is the face that India recognises, because it's more specific to our narrative. This man is a UN-designated terrorist being celebrated by the Pakistan military. Pakistan never allows these narratives to come out,' he says. Addressing the ongoing tensions between the two countries, Ranveer says, 'India's attacks were precision-oriented and moderate, and most importantly, they were a retaliation. India has never been an aggressor.' Pakistan is a failed nation, incapable of war: Ranveer Allahbadia shares new video after deleting ‘inshallah peace' post

YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia has shared an Instagram Reel about Pakistan being a 'failed nation'. In the video, Major Prajakta Desai says that Pakistan is incapable of fighting a full-scale war against India. According to the first Unmanned Aerial Vehicle observer pilot of the Indian Army, Pakistan's weak economy and problems at home won't let it fight a long war. India, however, is strong and always ready to protect itself. 'Wars shake the entire nation. A full-fledged war requires ₹ 65,000 crore. On average, thousands of people will lose their lives. The civilians need to be pushed back to a secure place,' she says. 'Pakistan is a failed nation. I don't think it has the capability to wage a war against India,' she adds. The video comes after his controversial address to 'Pakistani brothers and sisters'. Soon after facing strong criticism, BeerBiceps deleted it. LiveMint could not independently verify if BeerBiceps actually shared the post. Screenshots of the alleged post are doing rounds on social media. In the alleged post, he blamed media from both India and Pakistan for spreading hate. He shared 'evidence' linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam terror attack. 'Proof 1: All terrorists that have been caught over the years are originally from Pakistan. Proof 2: Your military leaders attended the state funeral held by Hafiz Abdur Rauf, brother of the Jaish-E-Mohammed chief,' he wrote. 'Proof 3: Your defense minister Khawaja Asif recently admitted to the state-sponsored terrorism on Sky News,' he added. At the same time, he also said sorry if any Pakistanis felt Indians were spreading hate. 'Dear Pakistani Brothers & Sisters, I will get hate from many Indians for this, but it is important to be said. Just like many Indians, I don't have hate in my heart for you,' said his now-deleted post. 'Many of us want peace as well. Whenever we meet Pakistanis, you invariably welcome us with love. But… Dil se sorry agar lagra hai ki hum nafrat faila rahe hai (I'm deeply sorry that we're spreading hatred),' he continued. 'The Indians who have met Pakistanis, UNDERSTAND you. But both Indian & Pakistani media (news channels) are currently spreading lies,' Ranveer Allahbadia added. He urged his 'Pakistani brothers and sisters' not to fall for lies spread by the media and hoped for long-term peace. 'Most of our populations want peace for the innocents near the border. But India also wants to end Pak Military & ISI's state-sponsored terrorism,' he wrote. 'But I care about YOU, not them. That's why… This is not: "Indian People vs Pakistani People." This is: "India vs Pakistani Military & ISI". Hope peace prevails in the long term, Inshallah,' Allahbadia concluded. The alleged post has attracted massive backlash on social media. Many users have called him a 'traitor' and demanded a ban on his YouTube channel. This is not the first time Ranveer Allahbadia spoke against Indian news channels. He earlier shared screenshots of a news channel flashing 'war updates' between India and Pakistan. In his Instagram Story, Allahbadia called news media a 'dying industry'. 'At this point, l almost feel it's our responsibility to discourage our parents from watching the news. Lies, misinformation & propaganda. Saw it first hand a few months ago,' he wrote while apparently referring to the media coverage of his controversy related to Samay Raina's India's Got Latent.

Ranveer Allahbadia deletes post for ‘Pakistani brothers' after massive backlash

YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia has deleted an Instagram post addressed to 'Pakistani brothers and sisters' after massive backlash. The podcast host, also known by his internet moniker BeerBiceps, shared the controversial Instagram post on Saturday where he apologised to Pakistanis if they felt that Indians were spreading hate. Shared on his Instagram handle @beerbiceps, the post consisted of multiple slides of text wherein Ranveer Allahbadia highlighted three pieces of evidence pointing to Pakistan's involvement in the Pahalgam terror attack. He then blamed the media of the two countries for spreading hate and misinformation. Allahbadia acknowledged that he would get hate from India for the post right at the outset, but shared it on Instagram anyway. Here is the full text of his now-deleted post. 'Dear Pakistani Brothers & Sisters, I will get hate from many Indians for this, but it is important to be said. Just like many Indians, I don't have hate in my heart for you. Many of us want peace as well. 'Whenever we meet Pakistanis, you invariably welcome us with love. But… your country is not run by a government. It is run by your military and your secret service (The ISI). The average Pakistani is VERY different than these 2 bodies. The average Pakistani has dreams of peace & prosperity in their hearts. These 2 villains have hurt your economy since independence. They have also constantly been responsible for terrorist attacks in India. Proofs in the next slide 'Proof 1: All terrorist that have been caught over the years are originally from Pakistan. 'Proof 2: Your military leaders attended the state funeral held by Hafiz Abdur Rauf, brother of the Jaish-E-Mohammed chief. 'Proof 3: Your defense minister Khawaja Asif recently admitted to the state sponsored terrorism on Sky News. But I care about YOU, not them. That's why... 'Dil se sorry agar lagra hai ki hum nafrat faila rahe hai. The Indian who have met Pakistanis, UNDERSTAND you. But both Indian & Pakistani media (news channels) are currently spreading lies. 'Most of our populations want peace for the innocents near the border. But India also wants to end Pak Military & ISI's state sponsored terrorism. Ek final cheez... This is not : Indian People vs Pakistani People. This is: India vs Pakistani Military & ISI. Hope peace prevails in the long term, Inshallah,' he concluded. The post caused massive outrage on social media. It has now been taken down, but screenshots are still circulating on social media. People criticised the podcast host for his 'sympathetic' stance towards Pakistan and called his words an insult to the armed forces of India. 'His immature and callous behavior is unacceptable. He should be reminded that his opinions aren't always needed. Authorities should investigate him and other Mumbai celebrities for,' wrote one X user. 'Shameful. Ranveer Allahbadia aka Beer Biceps openly supports Pakistanis — then quietly deletes his posts after backlash. This is what happens when we blindly support the wrong influencers and make them viral,' another wrote.

Ranveer Allahbadia TROLLED For Apologising To 'Pakistani Brothers And Sisters', Deletes Post

Last Updated: YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, aka BeerBiceps, faced backlash for an Instagram post about Pakistanis. After the recent India's Got Latent controversy, YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia —popularly known as BeerBiceps — is once again in the spotlight, facing criticism and online trolling. This time, it's over a now-deleted Instagram post directed at the people of Pakistan amid the India-Pakistan tension in the wake of Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. In the post, shared on Saturday, Ranveer wrote that he holds no hatred toward Pakistanis and apologised if anyone from the neighbouring country felt that Indians were spreading hate. Though the message appeared to be an attempt at promoting peace, it didn't sit well with many on social media. Users quickly began calling him out, accusing him of being tone-deaf and questioning the timing and intent behind the message. The backlash was swift enough that the post was taken down shortly after it was shared. In the post, Ranveer had written, 'Dear Pakistani Brothers & Sisters, I will get hate from many Indians for this, but it is important to be said. Just like many Indians, I don't have hate in my heart for you. Many of us want peace as well. Whenever we meet Pakistanis, you invariably welcome us with love." He went on to add, 'But…your country is not run by a government. It is run by your military and your secret service (The ISI). The average Pakistani is VERY different than these 2 bodies. The average Pakistani has dreams of peace & prosperity in their hearts. These 2 villains have hurt your economy since independence. Proofs in the next slide…" Citing proofs, he wrote, 'Proof 1: All terrorist that have been caught over the years are originally from Pakistan. Proof 2: Your military leaders attended the state funeral held by Hafiz Abdur Rauf, brother of the Jaish-E-Mohammed chief. Proof 3: Your defense minister Khawaja Asif recently admitted to the state sponsored terrorism on Sky News. But I care about YOU, not them. Dil se sorry agar lagra hai ki hum nafrat faila rahe hai. On a parting note, he wrote, 'Ek final cheez… This is not : Indian People vs Pakistani People. This is : India vs Pakistani Military & ISI. Hope peace prevails in the long term, Inshallah." One comment on X read, 'I always believe everybody deserves a second chance …we did with this guy too…but #beerbicep #RanveerAllahbadia does not deserve any sympathy hereafter. Boycott his podcast." Another read, 'Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." First Published: May 11, 2025, 12:09 IST
