EXCLUSIVE Coronation Street star hints he's ALREADY signed up for Celebrity Big Brother after Jack P Shepherd was crowned series champion
Coronation Street star Ben Price has hinted he may be the next soap name to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house, after co-star Jack P Shepherd was crowned series champion. The actor, 53, who plays Nick Tilsey on the ITV soap, has seen his close pals and co-stars Jack and Colson Smith previously take part in the famous show. Speaking to MailOnline on the red carpet at Saturday's Soap Awards alongside Colson and Jack, Ben quipped that it's 'already signed off' that he'll be joining CBB next year. Jack was crowned series champion after beating runner-up Danny Beard in April's final, with JoJo Siwa finishing in third place. Speaking about returning to work after the win, Jack told MailOnline: 'When you come back, everyone's exactly the same. Everyone said it was great. It was a surprise, the aim wasn't to win.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The actor was nominated by his fellow celebrity housemates quite a few times, which he insisted was because he told them he didn't care if he was up for eviction. He explained: 'I was only one that wasn't bothered if I was nominated. I said to them, it's fine.' The trio, who are continuing to host their On The Sofa podcast, also reflected on Colson's heartbreaking exit from the soap, after his character Craig Tinker was tragically killed off last month. Colson said: 'It was weird, there's been quite a lot of like milestones to get over and weirdly the last day was quite an enjoyable thing because you've worked so hard for it to come to that point and you're kind of saying goodbye to something that's been such a big part of your life. 'But we had a really nice day, I was lucky Jack and Ben were there and my family came into work. I had a really nice last scene, I was in Roy's Rolls with a nice group of people.' The best and brightest in serial drama were in attendance for the British Soap Awards on Saturday, with the ceremony set to be broadcast on ITV on June 5. It was the BBC 's EastEnders that cleaned up on the night with eight awards while Hollyoaks received three, Emmerdale two and Coronation Street only one. They kicked off their wins with Best Episode which went to Phil's Psychosis: The Mitchells In 1985. EastEnders also won Scene of the Year for Angie Watts' Shock Return while Navin Chowdhry won Best Villain for his role of Nish Panesar. Steve McFadden, who plays fan favourite Phil Mitchell, won the Best Dramatic Performance award while Patsy Palmer won Best Comedic Performance for her role as Bianca Jackson. Rudolph Walker & Angela Wynter (Patrick & Yolande Trueman) delivered another win for EastEnders as they won Best On-Screen Partnership. Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey Slater, won the Best Leading Performer Award and EastEnders also won the most coveted award of all: Best British Soap. Hollyoaks' three awards started with Isabelle Smith who won Best Newcomer for her role as Frankie Osborne. The Osbornes then won the Best Family award while Hollyoaks' sibling sexual abuse storyline received the Best Storyline award. Emmerdale's Amelia Flanagan won Best Young Performer for playing April Windsor while camera operator Mike Plant took home the Tony Warren Award which is given to employees working behind the scenes. Coronation Street's sole gong of the night was the Outstanding Achievement Award which went to David Neilson who has played Roy Cropper for 30 years. Jack P. Shepherd puts on a loved-up display with fiancée Hanni Treweek at the British Soap Awards after winning Celebrity Big Brother
Jack P. Shepherd cut a suave figure as he attended the British Soap Awards with his fiancée Hanni Treweek in London on Saturday. The Coronation Street actor, 37, looked dapper in a black tuxedo with a matching bow tie and white shirt. Hanni looked incredible in a black backless gown with long sleeves and a flowing train as she posed alongside her partner. The pair were also joined at the event by Colson Smith and Ben Price who host the On The Sofa podcast with Jack. The outing comes after Jack was crowned the winner of Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, beating out RuPaul 's Drag Race star Danny Beard. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Speaking about returning to work after the win, Jack told MailOnline: 'When you come back, everyone's exctly the same. Everyone said it was great. It was a surprise, the aim wasn't to win.' The actor was nominated by his fellow celebrity housemates quite a few times, which he insisted was because he told them he didn't care if he was up for eviction. He explained: 'I was only one that wasn't bothered if I was nominated. I said to them, it's fine.' Jack and Hanni got engaged during a romantic safari holiday in the Serengeti in June 2024. At the time, the couple posed for loved-up snaps in their safari getups to announce the happy news on social media. Flashing her sparkling engagement ring, Hannah beamed for the camera before kissing her new fiancé. Captioning the snaps, she gushed: '05.06.24 I said YES to forever!!!' Jack and Hanni have been dating since 2017, after meeting on the soap when she worked in the press office. She later became a storyliner on the ITV show, before quitting to work as a fashion influencer. Despite being colleagues, their romance actually began when Jack impressed Hanni at a mutual friend's wedding. Speaking to OK! Magazine in 2020, Jack recalled: 'Then our mutual friends got married and we were both guests at the wedding. 'We got chatting, I made Hanni laugh, we had a couple of drinks and we flirted. That was it.' The duo then later bumped into each other once again in a Sainsbury's, which led to an exchange of texts and a blossoming romance. He told The Daily Star: 'I texted her afterwards and said 'that was awkward' and she told me she thought she looked a mess and then we started texting from there. 'I actually thought she looked fit – I just saw the girl I fancy wearing Lycra! We quickly went on our first date and we just clicked.' In 2018, the couple went public with their relationship and Jack gushed that Hanni was his 'soulmate' in another interview with OK! Magazine.

Adelaide jockey Kayla Crowther recovering from nasty collarbone injury
Adelaide jockey Kayla Crowther is hoping to return to trackwork next month, following a fractured collarbone sustained in a pre-race incident at Murray Bridge in April. Crowther, 26, has avoided surgery, and is making steady progress, the fracture is 'protruding' but isn't giving the hoop too much discomfort. • PUNT LIKE A PRO: Become a Racenet iQ member and get expert tips – with fully transparent return on investment statistics – from Racenet's team of professional punters at our Pro Tips section. SUBSCRIBE NOW! 'It feels pretty comfortable, it just looks ugly really,' Crowther said. 'I don't have any pain relief or anything, I can do a fair bit with my left arm now. 'I took horses into the track Monday, Ben (Price) rode them, I can do a little bit, walk them around and put them on the float and stuff with my other arm.' Crowther is eyeing a return to trackwork riding in June, which would have her back race riding by early July. She is scheduled for another consultation with Racing SA doctor Steve Kennett in mid-June. 'Dr Kennett said six weeks, which takes me until the 12th of June, he wants to reassess it then,' she said. 'That's probably to start a bit of trackwork again if he's happy with it. 'It's been three weeks and I can't lift my arm up yet without it hurting, my gut feeling is that he's probably not going to say 'you can ride now'. 'I'm hoping if its improved a lot by that six-week mark, and he says I can go back to trackwork, I'll spend a couple of weeks doing that and it might be a total of eight weeks out from the races.' Blanc Visage storms over the top of them down the outside ðŸ'¥ @KaylaCrowther2 — (@Racing) April 21, 2025 • 'No two-horse race': Gollan insists chances aplenty in Doomben Cup Crowther was dislodged from the Garret Lynch-trained Got An Inspiration on April 30 when exiting the mounting yard for race six at Murray Bridge. 'He ran into the side of the gate, I sort of flopped off the side of him,' she said. 'The fall was harmless, I was about to get up but he must have got caught on the fence or something, and he just galloped over me. 'To be honest, I was more winded on the other side, I didn't even feel the collarbone at the start. 'I stood up and I thought 'I can breathe again, that's good'. 'I felt my collarbone, and there was already a big lump, and I thought 'this is broken already' – you could tell straight away.' The injury saw Crowther miss out on the remainder of the Adelaide racing carnival, including a Group 1 ride on Prairie Flower in The Goodwood, alongside a win and stakes placing with Fine Future. 'Obviously I would've liked to have ridden Prairie Flower again but Will (Price) gave her a perfect ride, she sort of ran up to her best,' she said. 'I was gutted I missed out on Fine Future, he won that finals race and then ran third in a stakes race, that was a bit of a bugger to miss.' • Nichols to unveil well-bred filly after breeder's bad luck Crowther is one of the hardest working jockeys in South Australia, and while there is never a good time to get injured, it has given the hoop a rare chance to reset. The premiership winner currently sits second in SA's statewide premiership with 62 wins. 'It's a bit of a shame, but to be honest, since I've started race riding I don't think I've had more than three weeks off, when I had a little bit of ankle surgery, and I think that was 2018,' Crowther said. 'It's actually really nice to have a bit of a break from racing, because I would never give myself this much time off. 'It probably came at a good time, to have a real reset, as much as being forced doesn't help, to have a proper break from racing, it will make me even hungrier. 'I ride everywhere, and ride a lot of races every year, it will ignite a bit more love for it, I love racing, but I think it will drive the passion for it, having a forced break.'

‘Makes you 10 times hungrier': Lachlan Neindorf's success drives jockey Ben Price to pull off upset aboard Sghirripa in The Goodwood
Young gun hoop Ben Price watched on as Lachlan Neindorf snared another Group 1 in the South Australian Derby, and the deeds of his great mate has him determined to make his own mark on the Group 1 stage. Price, 22, will pilot local sprinter Sghirripa in Saturday's $1m The Goodwood (1200m) at Morphettville, which is headlined by Everest winner Giga Kick. Saturday will mark Price's third opportunity at Group 1 level. He finished 11th aboard Beautiful Jewel in the Australasian Oaks last month and 13th aboard Beau Rossa in 2022's Goodwood. A Group 1 win is the pinnacle for any jockey, many dream of it, yet few achieve it, and Neindorf's feats in last year's Robert Sangster and the Derby has only fuelled that desire for Price, the son of multiple Group 1-winning jockey, Simon Price. 'Lachy and I are very good mates, I've been mates with him before he'd even had a race ride,' Price said. 'Seeing him ride Group 1 winners makes me even more hungry, if Sghirripa is the horse that could get me a Group 1, I'd be really rapt. 'It obviously makes you 10 times hungrier seeing your mates win them.' Sghirripa cruises home to take out our feature race the Standish Handicap, gaining an automatic start in the Newmarket Handicap on Super Saturday at Flemington on Saturday 9 March. ðŸ'½ @racing #SummerRacing — Victoria Racing Club (@FlemingtonVRC) January 13, 2024 Group 1 opportunities are scarce for Adelaide jockeys, there is only four majors on the Adelaide's racing calendar, and competition for Group 1 rides interstate is fierce. 'We all want rides in Group 1's, us Adelaide jockeys probably struggle to secure Group 1 rides throughout the carnival, but we can do it,' he said. 'Lachy has showed that in the last two years, we are capable of riding in Group 1 races and we can win them, we just need the stock underneath. 'I don't think putting an Adelaide jockey on is any disadvantage to any horse – that's for sure.' Grey flash Sghirripa, trained by Shane and Cassie Oxlade, is a $41 hope with Sportsbet for The Goodwood, and comes into the race following a runner-up performance in the Group 3 Irwin Stakes behind Asfoora. The son of Lonhro is a five-time Group 1 performer, and may have stolen last year's Oakleigh Plate, won by stablemate Queman, with even luck. 'I'm very excited, I'm very grateful to Shane and Cass for giving me the ride,' Price said. 'He went very well a fortnight ago in the Irwin, it wasn't the idea to be out in front like that, I thought he had every chance and he acquitted himself very well. 'He's had a good trial in-between, his trial was fantastic, he moved really well, I thought his action was probably ten times better than it was before I rode him a fortnight earlier. 'We know he's a solid galloper on his day, there's obviously a strong two or three chances, but anything can go wrong in those sort of races, all we need is a bit of luck and he's a horse that can be right in the finish.' • Jolly has hopes of Volcanic explosion in Goodwood Allocated the widest gate on Saturday, tactics will be determined by how well Sghirripa jumps. 'If he jumps, he'll probably roll forward and make the running again, if he steps a stride slow, there's plenty of options for horses we can get on the back of,' he said. 'I'm looking forward to it, it's a small field, anything can happen and he deserves his chance in a race like this.' For a second time, Price will line up against older brother, Will, at Group 1-level, the pair contested the 2022 Goodwood, and Will is aboard Clarken and O'Shea-trained mare Prairie Flower in this year's edition. 'I actually got him the ride to be honest, Will Clarken rang me a week ago and said 'I'm struggling to find a rider for the horse', I said 'why don't you chuck Will on?',' he said. 'Five minutes later he rang me back and said 'Will's booked', he can obviously ride as well, it's good to see him have a ride in the race.'

ITV Coronation Street legend left 'limping' as freak accident at home causes chaos
A Coronation Street star has shared how he was left 'limping' after a shock accident occurred at his home recently, after going on the hunt in his loft for an animal intruder A Coronation Street favourite found himself "limping" after stumbling upon an unexpected find in his kitchen. On the latest episode of the On The Sofa podcast, actor Ben Price, widely known as Nick Tilsley on the iconic soap, shared a comical, albeit painful incident at home amid a bizarre hunt for a rodent. Chatting with co-stars Jack P. Shepherd and Colson Smith, Ben detailed the comical "accident" that ensued following an odd run-in with wildlife at his home. The soap sensation hilariously revealed he had someone coming to fix his oven, which led to a grim discovery during a pre-repair clean out, a deceased rodent lurking under his kitchen unit. Given his living situation next to fields, Ben suspected his loft might be harbouring more mice. Despite nursing a jiu-jitsu injury that rendered one leg essentially useless, he gallantly climbed up to check for further uninvited guests. His somewhat risky pursuit took a turn for the worse when his foot crashed through the ceiling plaster. He humorously recollected the calamity, saying: "And I put my foot straight through; straight through. I've fallen through the ceiling, but my leg's dead, so I can't pick it back up. So, I have to use both my - my leg's trapped in - and I'm going, pulling it back." His torment didn't cease with the accident; looking down at his rubble-filled bathroom below he added: "And I think to myself, 'I've only put my little foot through', so it's just a foot mark in the ceiling. I'm thinking nothing of it, I look through the thing, and there was not one bit, the shower, the loo, the tiles, the floor, that wasn't covered." Expanding on the disaster, he said: "It was utterly covered. The whole ceiling, the whole part of the ceiling, had fallen down. Utterly, utterly gone. So then, I'm limping down the stairs, Star's like, 'You've put your foot through the ceiling; where are the mice?'" Taking no time to dwell on what had just happened, he hurried to tidy up the chaos without delay. As fate would have it, his wife was heading upstairs for a shower when he humorously quipped: "You just need to know something, you just need to know something!" soon revealing: "I've put my foot through the ceiling". Initially foreseeing a minor patch-up job, he shared his frustration when his wife took the mishap as a cue for a full bathroom makeover. Meanwhile, despite sharing an update from his home life recently, Ben has been a prominent feature on our screens over the last decade and a half having originally landed the role of playing Nick back in 2009. Since then he has appeared in a number of the shows biggest storylines.
