JEDDAH, May 31: Al-Ittihad added the King's Cup to its Saudi Pro League triumph, defeating Al-Qadisiyah 3-1 in front of 51,331 fans at Al-Enma Stadium, completing a historic domestic double. Having secured the league title just days earlier, Al-Ittihad lifted the King's Cup for the first time since 2018, when it also won 3-1 over Al-Faisaly at the same venue. The club announced on its official X account: 'First-team player Steven Bergwijn suffered an injury after falling inside his home last night, resulting in wounds to his leg and hand.' Al-Ittihad's medical team responded immediately, with the team doctor accompanying Bergwijn to International Medical Center for treatment. The winger received stitches at the injury site before being discharged. Bergwijn has been granted a brief medical leave and is expected to return to training in the coming days. However, he will miss Al-Ittihad's clash against Al-Khaleej on Wednesday in the 22nd round of the Saudi Pro League.
