MOSCOW, May 29 (Bernama-TASS) -- Russia has offered to hold a meeting with Ukraine in Istanbul on June 2 to present a memorandum aimed at addressing the root causes of the ongoing crisis, said Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Putin-Zelensky Meeting Possible, But as Result of Moscow-Kyiv Talks

MOSCOW, May 28 (Bernama-TASS) -- A personal meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky remains possible, but it must follow progress in negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday. 'There are no changes in the position on the principal possibility of such a meeting,' Peskov told reporters in response to a TASS news agency's question. He stressed, however, that such a meeting should be the outcome of concrete agreements between the two delegations, not held in isolation.

At Least 94 Pct Of Gaza Hospitals Damaged Or Destroyed — WHO

GENEVA, May 23 (Bernama-TASS) -- At least 94 per cent of all hospitals in the Gaza Strip have been damaged or destroyed, and people in the north of the Palestinian enclave have practically lost the opportunity to receive any medical care, the World Health Organisation (WHO) said in a report. "Only 19 of the Gaza Strip's 36 hospitals remain operational, including one hospital providing basic care for the remaining patients still inside the hospital, and are struggling under severe supply shortages, a lack of health workers, persistent insecurity, and a surge of casualties, all while staff work in impossible conditions. 'Of the 19 hospitals, 12 provide a range of health services, while the remainder are only able to offer basic emergency care. At least 94 per cent of all hospitals in the Gaza Strip have been damaged or destroyed,' the report stated, according to the Russian News Agency (TASS).

Russia, Ukraine Will Soon Start Talks On Ceasefire, Ending Conflict, Says Trump

WASHINGTON, May 20 (Bernama-TASS) -- Russia and Ukraine will soon begin talks on ceasing fire and ending the conflict, United States (US) President Donald Trump stated after his phone call with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, Russian News Agency (TASS) reported. "Just completed my two hour call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia. I believe it went very well. Russia and Ukraine will immediately start negotiations towards a Ceasefire and, more importantly, an END to the War," he wrote on his Truth Social platform. "The conditions for that will be negotiated between the two parties, as it can only be, because they know details of a negotiation that nobody else would be aware of. The tone and spirit of the conversation were excellent," he added.
