He moved to Parkhead from Argentinean side Lanus in 2022 for £3.75m and left in a reported £5m deal. Internacional could make a quick buck if Sevilla firm up their interest in Bernebei, who has more than three years left on his contract. The La Liga club have been on the lookout for a new left-back since January when they scrapped Valentin Barco's loan from Brighton and failed to find a suitable replacement. According to information from Esportes GZH, Sevilla's representatives will accompany Bernebei's agent Juan Cruz Oller when they watch. Internacional's next league match against Juventude from one of the stadium's executive boxes. Since leaving Glasgow, the 24-year-old has established himself as the best left-back in Brazil's Serie A and has been tipped for a call-up to the full Argentina squad. Lionel Scaloni, the World Cup-winning coach, has so far remained loyal to the players who excelled for him in Qatar during the South American qualifiers. But with Argentina's place at the 2026 finals now mathematically assured, Scaloni is understood to be ready to experiment by bringing some new faces into his squad for the next matches against Chile and Colombia in June.
