She said the first thing you had to do was lose weight, and she was able to shed 3.5 stone. "The only way you can lose weight is a calorie deficit. You want to focus on nutrition and diet, nutrition and diet, nutrition and diet," she explained Bethanie focused on whole foods, high protein, fibre and healthy fats rather than trying to stick to a fad diet. READ MORE WEIGHT LOSS STORIES NO WEIGH I lost 18st without fat jabs - I didn't cheat my way to new body by using Ozempic Next, the mum-of-two revealed she focused on doing pilates with some light weights. Pilates focuses on strength training, especially the core, which helps tone the stomach. "As somebody who has lost and gained a lot of weight three times, twice from having children and I've had two caesareans, I can honestly say Pilates, after the fat loss, is what has really toned up my stomach and build it out with definition and muscle," Bethanie added. "Almost everything is working your core and it focuses a lot on breathing and I don't think we realise, generally speaking, how important breathing is to activate and engage your core, your deep core properly." The best part is that Bethanie didn't have to leave the house to get her workout done as she used online pilate workouts on YouTube. Bethanie added in the comments section that the only other form of workouts she did to lose weight and maintain was to make sure she got 10,000 steps in a day. I'm a personal trainer - these 5 at-home core slider exercises mimic reformer Pilates (1) She said: "To lose the weight, yes, I did do cardio and now I do 10k minimum steps a day & 2 heavier cardio days a week." She added that heavier cardio includes doing the stair master or an incline walk on the treadmill. The clip posted to her TikTok account @bethaniekendra soon went viral with over 87k views and people were quick to thank her for the weight loss advice. One person wrote: "I did my first Pilates with Izzy this morning after your recommendation and loved it, I'm looking forward to getting up early and doing day 2. Thank you for inspiring me." Another commented: "You've inspired me to do at-home Pilates. The fact you do most things from home just proves you don't need the best membership to get these goals like I always thought you did. I hate going to the gym." "Me too! Lost 13kgs doing Pilates only and just recently joined the gym as I hit a bit of a plateau so needed to ramp it up a bit," penned a third. Police probe video of allegedly drunk North West cop in uniform
Police are investigating a video on social media which reportedly shows a group of people accusing an on-duty, uniformed North West police officer of being under the influence of alcohol. The provincial police commissioner ordered the immediate investigation of the allegations, according to police spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone. 'These allegations cannot and should not be taken lightly as they are damaging to the integrity and professional image of the SAPS, further contributing to the trust deficit between the police and the community,' Mokgwabone said. 'It is therefore important that such allegations must be investigated expeditiously which will require the cooperation of all the witnesses.' Mokgwabone added that police were looking to speak to two members of the Patriotic Alliance and Operation Dudula who had travelled from Gauteng to support the group in Bethanie. 'Efforts have been made by talking to locals to obtain evidence and it has been indicated that the two are the best placed to help unravel the allegations against the police officer,' said Mokgwabone. 'The two possible witnesses are further advised that making and publicising information of such a serious nature without reporting it to the relevant authorities may result in them being charged with defeating or obstructing the course of justice.' Last month, KwaZulu-Natal police said they would take disciplinary steps against an officer who was captured on video driving a marked police vehicle that had a missing driver's side door. The video was taken after the police vehicle was involved in an accident with a minibus taxi in Durban North. The driver at the time of the accident was a female warrant officer. She was trapped inside the vehicle and the door had to be removed to rescue her. Another officer then drove the doorless vehicle to a police station.

Candlelit vigil to be held for woman who disappeared 17 years ago
TOWN OF DICKINSON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The family of a Killawog woman who disappeared 17 years ago is asking the public to keep her memory alive. Family members of Bethanie Dougherty joined the Broome County Sheriff's Office on Monday to invite the community to a candlelight vigil in honor of the missing wife and mother of three. Dougherty was last seen by her family on April 1, 2008, at around 10 p.m. at her home on Jennings Creek Road in Killawog. Her family reported her missing the following day when she could not be located. However, her car keys, cell phone, and purse were all found still in her home. In the early morning hours of April 2, 2008, before Dougherty was reported missing, New York State Police responded to the area of Jennings Creek Road in Killawog due to residents reporting hearing someone possibly screaming in the area. The area was checked, and nothing was located. According to the Sheriff's Office, a vehicle described as a mid-to-late 1990s Chevy S-10 style pick-up truck was reported in the area at the time of Dougherty's disappearance. The candlelit vigil will be held on April 1 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Killawog Fire Department at 602 Jennings Creek Rd in Killawog. 'Bethanie was a loving mother of three, and we want to make sure she is never forgotten,' said John Curtis, Bethanie's brother. 'We're asking the community to join us for this vigil and ask anyone with information that helps us find Bethanie to please come forward.' The investigation has been ongoing for 17 years. Dougherty's family is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to her return or recovery.
