'Kaizer Chiefs need Sipho Mbule' says Moagi
It's been the week's biggest question among Kaizer Chiefs supporters across Mzansi. Should the club sign Sipho Mbule or not? Moshikaro Moagi, the famous Amakhosi supporter who promised to walk home from the FNB Stadium to Tzaneen, if Kaizer Chiefs lost to Mamelodi Sundowns last season, has said the 27-year-old Mbule should wear gold and black next season. The Bethlehem-born midfielder is a free agent after the 2024/25 Betway Premiership champions released for ill-discipline towards alcohol. Orlando Pirates make decision on 34-year-old star 'If given the chance, he could prove himself. He's a talented footballer, so I believe he should be given an opportunity. If you look at his performances, when Kaizer Chiefs face Sipho Mbule, he always puts up a strong fight. That alone might indicate where his passion lies. 'He was the standout player at Sekhukhune United this season. Even his parent club, Mamelodi Sundowns, seems hesitant to confront him, which is why they included a clause preventing him from playing against them. 'There is definitely a position for Mbule at Kaizer Chiefs, as we currently lack experienced players. Most of the other players don't match his level at Chiefs; he is more advanced. 'The player I do not recommend signing is Rivaldo Coetzee. I'm not convinced that we need him at Chiefs, even though he is currently a free agent,' Moagi concluded. Agent defends former Sundowns star Mbule
Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sipho Mbule is living through the darkest days of his career. His agent, Mike Makaab, is showing up for him. As confirmed before the start of last season, Sundowns sent the 27-year-old Mbule on loan to Sekhukhune United. After 18 appearances, including two goals and three assists, the club released Mbule for alleged misconduct. During the 2022/2023 season, the Bethlehem-born star was punished by Sundowns for reporting to training under the influence of alcohol. When somebody has a 'tag', they seem to be the target of most of the negativity that prevails in the industry. It's crazy,' Mbule's agent, Makaab, told Soccer Laduma after his agent's exit from Sundowns. 'What I am saying to you is that if it were one player with a so-called clean reputation and another player with a sketchy reputation, and they did the same thing, you wouldn't hear about the player with the clean reputation. 'I say this honestly because I have been in the industry for 28 years and I've seen it with my own eyes,' Makaab added. 'I can tell you that yes, Sipho may not be perfect. But I can also tell you that what has been reported is far from the truth. I'd rather not divulge any further because I would then be implicating people, and I don't want to implicate people. What you've read about his so-called misbehaviour leaves much to be desired. And I'm not protecting him,' Makaab added. Sundowns to release or keep talented midfielder
Betway Premiership champions and CAF Champions League finalists Mamelodi Sundowns are facing a big decision on a big talent: Sipho Mbule. As reported last month, Sekhukhune United released the 27-year-old midfielder to return to Sundowns. Mbule made his dream move to Sundowns from SuperSport United on a three-year deal in June 2022. Since then, Mbule has made 51 appearances, scoring three goals and one assist. Due to ill-discipline, the champions then loaned the Bethlehem-born player to Babina Noko in January until June. According to his agent Mike Makaab, Mbule's deal with Sundowns ends on 30 June. The African giants also have an option to extend the deal for another season. 'Mamelodi Sundowns have until the end of May to exercise the option, if they don't exercise option then Sipho is a free agent. We will then look at the number of possibilities for him,' Makaab said via iDiski Times . Sipho Mbule in action for Sundowns againts Cape Town Spurs at the Loftus Versfeld. Image: BackpagePix 'I'm not concerned, he is a talented player; Yes, of course, he has his problems, we don't have to beat around the bush about that, he is a talented football player, and I'm convinced that he is going to put his best forward. 'He has an option. If Mamelodi Sundowns take the option, then we have to look at other means of trying to move him if both him and the club are not keen to continue with their relationship. 'It's never easy as we've done in the past. We're gonna have to take this case carefully, examine all the possibilities and then hopefully guide and assist Sipho in making the right decision for his future,' Makaab concluded. Sundowns star asked to fight alcohol to save his career
The story has been widely reported. After continued indiscipline, Mamelodi Sundowns' Sipho Mbule has been released by his loan club, Sekhukhune United. As reported over the past month, Sekhukhune United decided to release Sundowns' loaned midfielder Mbule for reporting to training under the influence of alcohol. Speaking to the media in the past week, Sekhukhune's captain, Cardoso, pleaded with the Bethlehem-born star to save his career. 'It's quite sad to see [what's happening with Mbule]. We had a chat so many times, and as you saw again now, another story unfolded, and he's been let go by us [Sekhukhune United],' Cardoso told the Soccer Beat Podcast. I mean, he should be in the national team, and he's such a great character. But the disciplinary issues do affect him. At 26 years of age, we all go through that phase, and sometimes it's too late to realise, which I hope doesn't happen to him. 'I hope this has woken him up because Sundowns wanted him back when he went through that good stint with us to go to the Club World Cup, and I don't think that will happen now with all the negativity around him. 'So I do hope that if he ever gets to see this, I do hope that he comes out of what he's going through and changes his lifestyle because he's another player who should be playing in Europe, he has all the talent to play anywhere in the world. 'Sipho, I hope that you turn your career around, brother,'' Cardoso concluded. Mamelodi Sundowns' Mbule warned
Mamelodi Sundowns star Sipho Mbule has left Junior Khanye rather worried. As confirmed before the start of the season, Sundowns sent the 27-year-old Mbule on loan to Sekhukhune United. After 18 appearances, including two goals and three assists, the club has decided to release Mbule for alleged misconduct. During the 2022/2023 season, the Bethlehem-born star was punished by Sundowns for reporting to training under the influence of alcohol. 'Sundowns have a few contracts coming to an end in June and the club will be using the coming weeks to make decisions on who to keep and let go of,' Soccer Laduma reported. 'One of the players who is unlikely to stay at the club is midfielder Sipho Mbule, who was sent out on loan to Sekhukhune United. 'Indications are that Sekhukhune are letting the player go before the end of the season following another alleged incident of ill-discipline,' the outlet added. 'A couple of months ago, Mbule had to meet up with management following an incident with a technical team member, which was resolved.' 'It's disappointing and it hurts because I love Sipho Mbule. These days, football is not about talent only, they look at all the dynamics,' Khanye told Kick Off. 'This boy is talented, why he is doing all this is shocking. The reason Sundowns sent him to Sekhukhune is because of such behaviour and not because of talent. 'This is painful because (a) majority of footballers are breadwinners at home. The saddest part is he will not remain at the age he is currently in for long. 'He has already dented his reputation from Sundowns, it's just that back then in Rulani Mokwena he had a coach who was always on his side. 'I don't know how many chances he wants because he saw what happened to the likes of us. It took me about 10 years to get a deal again. 'Every time I gave clubs a call, the response I'd get would be: 'Yes, you are talented, but unfortunately we cannot risk about you'. What players don't understand is that these coaches and club directors do talk to each other about players. These teams work very closely. 'Sipho is killing his career, no team will risk with him. It will take God and his ancestors to save his career, not a human being. He might not play professionally again. I see him spending at least six months without a team. 'I see him taking the same path the likes of us experienced,' Khanye concluded. IS JUNIOR KHANYE RIGHT?
