David Gilmour's 'Between Two Points' returns to the Official Vinyl Singles and Physical Singles ... More charts, nearly a year after its initial release. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - APRIL 12: David Gilmour performs live on stage at Madison Square Garden on April 12, 2016 in New York City. (Photo by) A little over a year ago, David Gilmour released 'Between Two Points' as a single from his then-forthcoming album, Luck and Strange. The tune arrived just a few months ahead of Gilmour's fifth solo collection, and it took a little less than a year before it reached several sales rankings in the United Kingdom, where he remains a rock superstar. 'Between Two Points,' which features Gilmour's daughter Romany on backing vocals and harp, reappears on a pair of tallies across the Atlantic this week as it once again becomes a bestseller. 'Between Two Points' Reappears on Two Charts The two Gilmours, father and daughter, reemerge on both the Official Vinyl Singles and Official Physical Singles charts. 'Between Two Points' reenters the vinyl-only tally at No. 33 and lands on the ranking of the top-selling songs on any physical medium — be it CD, cassette, or vinyl — at No. 45. David Gilmour's Biggest Solo Hit 'Between Two Points' already ranks as Gilmour's biggest hit on the Official Vinyl Singles chart. It previously peaked at No. 7, beating the No. 9 high point that 'Yes, I Have Ghosts' reached years prior. It has now racked up 11 appearances on the roster — more than Gilmour's other two hits combined. 'Between Two Points' Vs. 'Arnold Layne' The song doesn't earn those same honors on the Official Physical Singles chart, however. Gilmour's own 'Arnold Layne' beat the current hit's No. 8 peak by one rung. 'Between Two Points' has lived on the physical list for 12 turns to date, while 'Yes, I Have Ghosts' spent 16 frames on the Official Physical Singles chart throughout its run. 'Between Two Points' Needed Months to Chart 'Between Two Points,' a cover of British band The Montgolfier Brothers' tune of the same name, didn't reach either of the charts on which it currently appears until April of this year. Since then, it has largely held on, though the composition did disappear toward the end of June. Since then, the cut has returned twice on the Official Vinyl Singles chart and once on the physical ranking, as sales of the track ebb and flow.

David Gilmour Charts His First Top 10 Single — With His Daughter
David Gilmour and daughter Romany debut at No. 8 on two U.K. singles charts with 'Between Two ... More Points,' which also earns a new peak on a third ranking. (Photo by) David Gilmour can almost always be found on a variety of charts in the United Kingdom, though it's usually with the band that changed the look and sound of rock music forever: Pink Floyd. This week, he's back on the rankings under his own name — as well as with the group – and he's winning with a family affair. The guitarist's recent single debuts inside the top 10 on several U.K. rosters, becoming a proper smash on multiple lists at once. While the rocker is used to huge wins on the charts, this time, he's brought his daughter Romany along, and she joins him in the commercial success. 'Between Two Points' is a single taken from Luck and Strange, Gilmour's fifth full-length solo album. The set arrived back in September 2024 and was an immediate commercial and critical success in the U.K. Months after the project's release, Luck and Strange is still producing wins. 'Between Two Points' sees Gilmour collaborating with his daughter Romany, and while the song itself has been out for more than half a year, it's only just become a smash on a handful of tallies across the Atlantic. This week, 'Between Two Points' enters both the Official Physical Singles and Official Vinyl Singles charts. It starts in a lofty position on both lists, debuting at No. 8. 'Between Two Points' also returns to the Official Singles Sales chart this frame. It reappears at No. 10, giving both Gilmour and his daughter their first top 10 hit on that specific list. That's a new high point for the tune, which had previously only climbed as high as No. 48. Back in September 2024, when it was initially released, the track spent just two weeks on the tally — first at No. 78, then slightly higher, before vanishing. 'Between Two Points' is one of many songs that hit the charts in the U.K. thanks to Record Store Day 2025. The cut was reissued as a clear 12-inch vinyl, and the special, newly-minted version includes four tracks, which are all actually different iterations of the same song. The two Gilmours faced a lot of competition from other exciting offerings made available exclusively for the music industry holiday, and 'Between Two Points' is one of the top performers. While Gilmour has appeared on countless U.K. charts over the years — both solo and with Pink Floyd — top 10 solo hits are still fairly rare for him. 'Between Two Points' becomes just his second appearance inside the top 10 on the Official Vinyl Singles chart under his own name. The track also earns Gilmour just his third top 10 on the Official Physical Singles tally.
