David Gilmour Returns To The Charts With A Family Affair
A little over a year ago, David Gilmour released 'Between Two Points' as a single from his then-forthcoming album, Luck and Strange. The tune arrived just a few months ahead of Gilmour's fifth solo collection, and it took a little less than a year before it reached several sales rankings in the United Kingdom, where he remains a rock superstar.
'Between Two Points,' which features Gilmour's daughter Romany on backing vocals and harp, reappears on a pair of tallies across the Atlantic this week as it once again becomes a bestseller.
'Between Two Points' Reappears on Two Charts
The two Gilmours, father and daughter, reemerge on both the Official Vinyl Singles and Official Physical Singles charts. 'Between Two Points' reenters the vinyl-only tally at No. 33 and lands on the ranking of the top-selling songs on any physical medium — be it CD, cassette, or vinyl — at No. 45.
David Gilmour's Biggest Solo Hit
'Between Two Points' already ranks as Gilmour's biggest hit on the Official Vinyl Singles chart. It previously peaked at No. 7, beating the No. 9 high point that 'Yes, I Have Ghosts' reached years prior. It has now racked up 11 appearances on the roster — more than Gilmour's other two hits combined.
'Between Two Points' Vs. 'Arnold Layne'
The song doesn't earn those same honors on the Official Physical Singles chart, however. Gilmour's own 'Arnold Layne' beat the current hit's No. 8 peak by one rung. 'Between Two Points' has lived on the physical list for 12 turns to date, while 'Yes, I Have Ghosts' spent 16 frames on the Official Physical Singles chart throughout its run.
'Between Two Points' Needed Months to Chart
'Between Two Points,' a cover of British band The Montgolfier Brothers' tune of the same name, didn't reach either of the charts on which it currently appears until April of this year. Since then, it has largely held on, though the composition did disappear toward the end of June. Since then, the cut has returned twice on the Official Vinyl Singles chart and once on the physical ranking, as sales of the track ebb and flow.

Rosé's Biggest Single Returns To An Important Region Months Into Its Life
Bruno Mars and Rose's 'Apt' climbs again in its fortieth week on U.K. charts, returning to the top ... More 40 and appearing on five tallies simultaneously. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - MAY 05: Rose attends "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style", the 2025 Costume Institute Benefit, at Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 05, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by) By the time most pop songs hit 40 weeks on any chart, they're lucky to even still be present. Pop music is known for its quick turnover rate, and while a very lucky few smashes can remain in the public's mind for months, if not years, that kind of success is incredibly rare. Bruno Mars and Rosé scored a surprisingly sturdy smash with 'Apt.,' which didn't just earn a lofty debut or reach impressive positions on the charts, it's managed to stick around for dozens of weeks. The collaboration isn't just holding on — it's actually managing to rise across nearly every tally it appears on in the United Kingdom, which is uncommon for a tune that's been present since last year. 'Apt.' Appears on Five Charts Simultaneously This week in the U.K., 'Apt.' lives on five different charts. It's a win when it comes to streaming platforms and pure purchases, and when combined, general consumption. This frame, the tune lifts on four rosters and even returns to the Official Physical Singles chart. Physical copies of 'Apt.' are still selling incredibly well, as the tune reappears at No. 38, becoming a top 40 smash again. Sales and Streaming Wins Amazingly, 'Apt.' is a top 40 hit on the other four charts where it's still found as well. The cut sits highest on the Official Streaming ranking, coming in at No. 16. It also lands at No. 24 on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads rosters. 'Apt.' returns to the top 40 region – which usually defines when a charting cut becomes a real smash – on the main list of the biggest songs in the U.K., coincidentally in its fortieth week on the list. The multilingual track steps up from No. 43 to No. 40, narrowly managing to find space within that tier. A Former No. 1 That's Still Rising In the past, 'Apt.' has hit No. 1 on almost every chart where it's now climbing. The Korean-English duet only missed the peak position on the Official Singles chart, where it almost became a historic leader. Instead, it topped out in second place.

Doechii Scores A New No. 1 With A Half-Decade-Old Song
Doechii's viral hit 'Anxiety' debuts at No. 1 on the U.K.'s Official Vinyl Singles and Physical ... More Singles charts, driven by limited edition vinyl sales. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - MAY 05: Doechii attends the 2025 Met Gala Celebrating "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" at Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 05, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/FilmMagic) Doechii's song 'Anxiety' has experienced quite the unusual journey. The singer and rapper first shared the tune, which is built around a prominent sample of 'Somebody That I Used to Know' by Gotye and Kimbra, in 2019, when she was still working to become well-known. At the time, it didn't pick up much traction, but die-hard fans never forgot the track. Earlier this year, following her performance at the Grammy Awards and her win for Best Rap Album, the song began to go viral. Doechii wisely re-recorded the composition and officially released it as a single, and it didn't take long for 'Anxiety' to rise into the top 10 on rankings all around the world. Just when it seemed the cut might finally be finished with its chart run, it surges once again, giving the hip-hop superstar another winner. 'Anxiety' Debuts at No. 1 'Anxiety' arrives at No. 1 on the Official Vinyl Singles chart in the United Kingdom this frame. The tune opens atop the tally thanks to its recent release on various limited edition colored wax pressings all around the globe. With this new win, Doechii replaces 'I Miss You, I'm Sorry' by Gracie Abrams, which also took its time climbing to the summit. Doechii's Track Record Remains Perfect Doechii has only ever sent two songs to the Official Vinyl Singles chart, and as 'Anxiety' arrives in first place, her track record remains flawless. In April, 'Denial Is a River' also reached the top space, spending two weeks on the tally before flowing away. 'Anxiety' Hits No. 1 on the Physical Chart Thanks to its vinyl release, 'Anxiety' also rockets to No. 1 on the Official Physical Singles chart, vaulting from No. 24 to the peak position. The track earns the hip-hop powerhouse her second No. 1 on the tally, as it likewise follows 'Denial is a River' on this ranking. Sales Push 'Anxiety' Up Another Tally Purchases of 'Anxiety' skyrocketed in the U.K. recently thanks to the vinyl pressing. That uptick is reflected on the Official Singles Sales chart, where the cut bolts from No. 92 to No. 29 in its nineteenth frame on the roster.
