Selena Gomez slammed for 'rich-person' behavior after watching Knicks game at Beyonce concert

Selena Gomez has irked social media users after she revealed she kept up with the New York Knicks game at a Beyonc e concert over the weekend. The actress, 32, appeared to be in attendance at Beyonce's Cowboy Carter show at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday. Dressed in a Cowboy Carter-branded Stetson, Selena posted a series of snaps from the concert… but one particular image left fans reeling. Dressed for the occasion: The actress shared a selfie of her clad in cowboy attire for the gig Watching the performance from a very empty suite, Selena uploaded a picture of a phone screen which was showing the Knicks take on the Pacers. 'Still got my eye on the game,' she captioned the snap, which had been added to her Instagram Story. Some were outraged by Selena's actions and blasted her for not 'appreciating' the Beyonce gig. Some even went as far as hinting that she didn't want to be there. Complaining on Reddit, one said: 'Not surprised. Rich people can't appreciate things because they've destroyed the pleasure center of their brain from getting what they want all the time. 'Selena will never know an ounce of the happiness I felt in the cheap seats.' 'Only time I watched something on my phone at a show was the one time I didn't want to be there at all,' another said. However, many defended Selena and understood her motive given that the Knicks have not reached the NBA Finals since 1999. One said: 'I live in NYC and plenty of my friends who went to the Cowboy Carter show last night also had the game on their phones… I'm not a basketball fan but apparently it's been a big deal.' 'In fairness the last time Knicks won a championship, Beyoncé wasn't born,' another wrote. 'So let fans enjoy two things.' A third added: 'Don't think it has a thing to do with her being rich. It's a societal problem of all of us having constant access to what we want on our phones. 'Every time I go to concerts people are scrolling too and we're in the nosebleeds.' 'This is supposed to be a problem?' asked another. 'It's the playoffs!' 'Yeah I'm a huge Beyonce fan and a soccer fan,' a fifth continued. 'I also wouldn't do it at her concert but come on lol. Sometimes if it's an important game, it's hard to resist having it on in the background of whatever you're busy with.' On Sunday, the New York Knicks beat the Indiana Pacers 106-100 in game three of the conference finals. The Paces are currently 3-1 up after their win on Monday. It's a huge time for the Knicks who are still in with a chance of winning the 2025 NBA Championships. They have not won an NBA championship since 1973.

The nine-city tour will also play in Europe before the finale on Saturday, July 26, in Las Vegas. The five shows at MetLife are record breaking — they're the most by an artist on a single tour at the venue. Beyoncé lassoed hips, hearts and minds, too, at her MetLife Stadium Cowboy Carter show on May 22 in East Rutherford. The show kicked off a record breaking five dates for Beyoncé at the venue, which included May 24 and 25. She also plays Wednesday, May 28, and Thursday, May 29. The nearly three-hour spectacle on May 22 was a delight of a country music concert, Beyoncé style, that touched on contemporary themes and critiques with a smile and a twirl. The central point is country music was founded in the hymns, spirituals, blues and field songs of Black America, and that fact this is not widely recognized — well, that's part of the American problem. 'They used to say I spoke too country,' sang Beyoncé in 'American Requiem,' from her hit album, 'Cowboy Carter.' What is the remedy? An album and tour of country music that takes the genre to its roots and explores exciting possibilities. From a delicate performance of the Beatles 'Blackbird,' dedicated 'to all the beautiful Blackbirds who came before me and opened the doors for me,' to a delightful corn-fed rendition of Dolly Parton's 'Jolene,' Beyoncé showed an impressive range and exquisite feeling in her vocals. The multi-piece band made all the right notes and shadings, and the the backup singers delivered a rich context, especially on the new 'Flamenco.' Mind you, Bey did not strap on her cowboy boots and cowboy hat to just stand there and sing. Beyoncé and her big dance troupe were in constant motion throughout the night, and that included daughters Blue Ivy and Rumi. Yes, there many cowboy hats, in the audience and on stage, too. Beyonce wore several, which complemented her several rhinestone cowgirl looks throughout the night. Bey favored sparkled bodysuits and chaps, with the hats and boots sometimes accented by the American flag. When not dancing, Bey rode a horseshoe and late model sedan over the audience via wires — and, on stage, a mechanical bull, gold horse and truck with giant horns. She looked like a cool Kid Rock when she was on the truck, for a stutter rhythm version off 'Crazy In Love.' Video vignettes framed the night, such as the concept of the 'reclamation of America.' Heady stuff, and perhaps unsettling to portions of the population. But they were delivered here with such charm and skill that this lesson in American cultural history will not soon be forgotten. Here's the May 22 setlist: Beyoncé setlist American Requiem Blackbird The Star-Spangled Banner Freedom Ya Ya / Why Don't You Love Me Oh Louisiana America Has a Problem Spaghetti Formation My House Diva Alligator Tears Just for Fun Protector Flamenco Desert Eagle Riverdance II Hands II Heaven II Tyrant Thique Levii's Jeans Sweet Honey Buckiin' / Pure Honey / Summer Renaissance Texas Hold 'Em Crazy in Love Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) Love on Top Irreplaceable If I Were A Boy Jolene Daddy Lessons Bodyguard II Most Wanted Cuff It Heated Before I Let Go Daughter Renaissance I'm That Girl Cozy Alien Superstar 16 Carriages Amen 'Cowboy Carter' The "Cowboy Carter' album won Grammy Awards for Best Country Album and Album of the Year. Beyoncé opened her Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin Circuit Tour April 28 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, and it played in Chicago before the East Rutherford shows. The May 22 show began a few minutes after 8 p.m. in a light drizzle. "I want to say thank you for being here in all this rain and cold weather," said Beyoncé at MetLife. "I'm going try my best to keep you'll warm. The East Rutherford concerts are record breaking — they're the most by an artist on a single tour at the venue. The nine-city tour will also play in Europe before the finale on Saturday, July 26, in Las Vegas. NJ Transit trains start departing Secaucus for the concerts at 4:53 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, and Thursday, May 29. The last train will not leave MetLife Stadium before 1 a.m. Check out for more info. Subscribe to for the latest on the New Jersey music scene. ‘Street Woman Fighter' goes global

JYP Entertainment founder Park Jin-young, Beyonce tour dancer Aliyah Janell and Mike Song to judge popular dance competition The popular dance competition series "Street Woman Fighter" is back for a third season — this time, with only one Korean team. "World of Street Woman Fighter," the show's latest iteration, features competition between dance crews from five countries: South Korea's Bumsup, the United States' Motiv, Japan's Osaka Ojo Gang and RHTokyo, New Zealand's Royal Family and Australia's AG Squad. Series producer Choi Jung-nam said the decision to include crews from other countries was aimed at showcasing more global talent to Korean audiences, building on the success of their introduction in season two. 'When it came to casting global crews for the program, we didn't approach it with the mindset that specific countries had to be represented. We wanted to introduce crews that have a certain level of skill and status, and who could tell compelling stories within the context of our program,' Choi said during a press conference held Tuesday in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Due to the diversity of participants this time around, the production team said it is facing new challenges in the editing process to ensure a seamless viewing experience across languages. 'Since we're trying to show viewers the best version of the footage through editing, many translators are involved. Because we're dealing with multiple languages: Korean, English, Japanese and more. It's taking a lot of time to translate. ... Even if there are some rough or imperfect parts, I hope you'll look forward to the dancers' expressions through the language of their bodies.' Joining the judges' panel this season are three powerful figures from the dance and entertainment industry: JYP Entertainment founder Park Jin-young, Beyonce tour alum Aliyah Janell, and renowned dancer and choreographer Mike Song. Park, who brings perspectives as a performer and a producer, reflected on his approach to judging for the new season. 'In the past, when I was judging singers, there was some connection to my company, so I had to be careful. But this time, I felt I could speak based on what I saw and felt. Some of the contestants this time are dancers I paid to choreograph for me. So while I'm watching as a fellow dancer, I also naturally see things from the perspective of a K-pop producer who commissions choreography," said Park. Despite the nation-versus-nation frame of the competition, producer Choi emphasized the broader mission of the show. 'I found myself returning to the original mindset -- rather than thinking about which country to root for, I saw it as a way to introduce international dancers to fans who loved 'Street Woman Fighter' and to help build a fandom for them.'
