With headliners Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese missing Fever vs. Sky clash, Kelsey Mitchell steals the show
CHICAGO – The Indiana Fever recorded a third dominating win over the Chicago Sky, 93-78, to win the season series. Indiana is now 3-0 this season against Chicago, and the two teams will play two more times this season. Kelsey Mitchell had a season-high 35 points, while rookie Makayla Timpson had a career-high 14 points. Neither Caitlin Clark, nor Angel Reese played Sunday, both sitting out with injury. The Fever are 14-12 and remain sixth in the WNBA standings. Fever vs Sky stats: Check out the box score from Indiana's win Here are two observations: Veteran guard Kelsey Mitchell was the one to keep the Fever on track on Sunday afternoon. She had 13 points in the first quarter, matching the Sky's first-quarter total, and assisted on two other shots. She powered through contact in the second quarter, even when she had a small hiccup. After making a contact through a layup and falling on her back, she was slow to get up, holding her groin area. She subbed out 10 seconds later, doing some stretches on the sideline and staying on the bench for the final two minutes of the first half. She was the first one back out to warm up after halftime and started the second half with no issues. And she was right back to her old self — she scored the first 10 points of the third quarter for the Fever and had 15 total in those 10 minutes, helping Indiana out of a third-quarter slump and keeping the Fever firmly ahead. Mitchell finished with a season-high 35 points, along with two rebounds and six assists. She did look in pain at times, holding at that groin area throughout the second half, but played through it. With just one practice under her belt, new Fever signee Chloe Bibby is already making an impact. The Fever signed Bibby, who spent some time with the Valkyries this season, to a seven-day contract on Friday. The signing came after she finished playing in the Asia Cup in China with the Australian National Team. Bibby had just one official day of practice with Indiana before traveling to Chicago for her first game in a Fever uniform, and they utilized her quickly. She came in for the first time in the first quarter and nearly immediately drained a 3-pointer, then did it again over 6-7 Kamilla Cardoso. Coming out of the first half, she had eight points in eight minutes. Bibby played ahead of Damiris Dantas and Brianna Turner in the frontcourt, as Dantas has seen her spot in the rotation dwindle since returning from FIBA Americup in early July. Bibby is a fast, stretch forward, and she fits how the Fever hope to play — with or without star Caitlin Clark available.

Newest Indiana Fever addition Chloe Bibby 'really excited' for another WNBA shot
As the franchise continues to navigate Caitlin Clark's injury absence, the Indiana Fever brought in a reinforcement. Indiana signed forward Chloe Bibby to a seven-day contract. Bibby goes from teammates with one Hawkeye to teammates with another Iowa alum. Bibby played in five games across two stints with the Golden State Valkyries earlier this season where she was teammates with Kate Martin. The 6-foot-2 forward enjoyed her best performance of this 2025 season against the Indiana Fever. In her five games thus far, Bibby has averaged 6.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game on 40.7% field goal shooting and 42.1% 3-point shooting. Ahead of its Sunday date at the Chicago Sky (7-17), the Fever's newest forward shared her appreciation to join Indiana. "Obviously, I'm really excited. I had some stint there at Golden State and that was a great time. So, yeah, went over, played with Australia, won a gold there and that was great. Just to be back in the W and have another crack is really exciting, really grateful for this opportunity here with the Fever and just excited. "Everyone's been super great, really helpful. Just kind of taking it all in stride right now, one step at a time, but everyone's been super helpful. It's been a good transition so far," Bibby said. After being waived by Golden State on June 30, Bibby joined and led her national team, the Australia Opals, to a gold medal in the 2025 FIBA Women's Asia World Cup earlier this month. Bibby was in China when she got the news that she would be joining the Fever. "I went from San Francisco to China. I didn't really get to go back to Australia. So, just from China, I was like, well, I already have some stuff packed, so then just come back over here, back to America. So, yeah, it was good. It all happened pretty fast, but, like I said, super grateful for the opportunity," Bibby said. The Aussie feels her playing style should suit Indiana well. "Really physical team, tough, fast-paced and I like that fast style, so I think that suits me a lot. Fast-paced, shoot the three ball and I think that's exactly what I do, so hopefully I can find my strides here and get into some rhythm. "I think just as long as I bring some energy, fast-paced everything and just try to find my shots within the offense. Just getting to know the girls and chemistry and stuff. It takes time. But, to try to build that quickly and everyone's been really good so far," Bibby said. Though it's not been as a teammate beforehand, the 27-year-old is familiar with the Fever roster. "I think I've honestly played against everybody. I haven't played with anybody, but I think with college, professional, there's some sort of tie nearly with everybody on the team, so that's good," Bibby said. Bibby also has extensive overseas experience, including being named the Polish League MVP while with the AZS AJP Gorzow Wielkopolski in the 2023-24 season, and MVP of the Liga Femenina de Baloncesto in Spain with the Spar Girona in the 2024-25 season. During her collegiate career, Bibby spent three seasons at Mississippi State before playing her final two seasons at Maryland where she averaged 13.2 and 11.9 points per game during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, respectively. Bibby was a second-team All-Big Ten selection at Maryland in 2022 and honorable mention All-Big Ten in 2021. Indiana (13-12) squares off against the Chicago Sky on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. CT on ABC. Chloe Bibby 'super grateful' to be back in WNBA. How Fever will use her to help Aliyah Boston
INDIANAPOLIS – Chloe Bibby was in China when she received word earlier this week the Indiana Fever were signing her to a seven-day contract. The 6-foot forward already had a few things packed for the trip from San Francisco, so instead of going back to her native Australia, she returned to America, making it to Indianapolis in time for the Fever's practice Saturday afternoon. "It all happened pretty fast, but I'm super grateful," said Bibby, who will likely make her Fever debut Sunday at Chicago (3 p.m., ABC). "To be back in the W and to have another crack is really exciting. … I'm taking it all in stride right now and going one step at a time, but everyone's been super helpful. It's been a good transition." Bibby began the season with the Golden State Valkyries, appearing in two preseason games before re-signing with the team on June 15. She appeared in five games during that second stint, averaging 6.4 points and 2.8 rebounds, and shooting 42% (8-for-19) from 3. Her best game of the season came against the Fever, wherein she scored 12 points with three rebounds over a season-high 24 minutes. Bibby was waived by Golden State on June 30. The former Mississippi State Bulldog and Maryland Terrapin helped her national team, the Australia Opals, win gold at the FIBA Women's Asia World Cup earlier this month, averaging 8 points and 6.2 rebounds. Coach Stephanie White said Bibby's size and ability to stretch the floor and create space inside for Aliyah Boston will be beneficial for the Fever, who had an open roster spot after beginning the season with just 11 players because of salary cap restrictions. "She came in, she studied the offense and she's been good." "It's a challenge any time you're integrating a new player midseason, but I think at the position she'll play for us — that stretch 4, middle of the floor — there's not a lot of nuance to how we'll use her," White said. "We'll shorten the playbook a bit, make it specific to ways that we can continue to stretch the floor when we put her out there with AB." For her part, Bibby said Indiana's "fast-pace, shoot the 3-ball" offense suits her style quite well. She just needs to "bring some energy," play with tempo and try to find her shots within the offense. "I'm getting to know the girls and (developing) chemistry," Bibby added. "It takes time, but we're trying to build that quickly." Asked if things are beginning to slow down for her following the journey from San Francisco to China to Indianapolis, Bibby smiled and responded: "I'm feeling a little bit settled now. I have had a lot of sleep, which is great, so I think I've gotten over the jet lag."

Indiana Fever sign Chloe Bibby amid Caitlin Clark injury absence
As Caitlin Clark continues to rehab a right groin injury, the Indiana Fever added to their roster. Indiana signed Australian forward Chloe Bibby on Friday morning to a seven-day contract. Bibby, 27, played in five games across two stints with the Golden State Valkyries during this 2025 WNBA season. During the preseason Bibby appeared in two games, averaging 5.0 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. After re-signing with the Valkyries on June 15, Bibby played five games with the team before being waived on June 30. During her second stint with the team, Bibby averaged 6.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. Bibby's best performance came against the Indiana Fever on June 19 when she scored 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting. The 6-foot-2 forward knocked down a pair of 3-pointers in that 88-77 win over Indiana. Bibby also grabbed three rebounds, assisted once and came away with a steal in the Valkyries' win. 'Spacing the floor, that's part of our philosophy, right? ' Valkyries coach Natalie Nakase told reporters after that June 19 game. 'So, she fits in really well with the fact that she's a big that can space the floor. But then, you know, on the other end, she's really physical. She can get rebounds. So yeah, Chloe is like a Swiss Army knife.' Bibby also helped her national team, the Australia Opals, to a gold medal in the 2025 FIBA Women's Asia World Cup earlier this month. Two years prior, Bibby also guided the Opals to a bronze medal in the 2022 FIBA World Cup in Sydney. 'I'm just competitive,' Bibby told Matthew Walter of 'I think over the years, with having that and growing that confidence in my shot to where if I get it and I'm open, and I know that's the right shot, I'm gonna shoot it, and I feel confident with that… I'd love to have a stint in the W, I'd like to be here full time. That's obviously a goal, it's the best league in the world for a reason." Indiana had an open roster spot after beginning the season with just 11 players. In the WNBA, seven-day contracts may be signed in the season's second half. Under a seven-day contract, players earn the prorated minimum base salary. Players can sign up to three seven-day contracts with a single team, but can sign with multiple teams during that time. The seven-day contract affords WNBA teams flexibility when they might not want to commit to a guaranteed contract, though teams can also elect to sign those players to a rest-of-season contract at any point.
