Newest Indiana Fever addition Chloe Bibby 'really excited' for another WNBA shot
Indiana signed forward Chloe Bibby to a seven-day contract. Bibby goes from teammates with one Hawkeye to teammates with another Iowa alum.
Bibby played in five games across two stints with the Golden State Valkyries earlier this season where she was teammates with Kate Martin. The 6-foot-2 forward enjoyed her best performance of this 2025 season against the Indiana Fever.
In her five games thus far, Bibby has averaged 6.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game on 40.7% field goal shooting and 42.1% 3-point shooting.
Ahead of its Sunday date at the Chicago Sky (7-17), the Fever's newest forward shared her appreciation to join Indiana.
"Obviously, I'm really excited. I had some stint there at Golden State and that was a great time. So, yeah, went over, played with Australia, won a gold there and that was great. Just to be back in the W and have another crack is really exciting, really grateful for this opportunity here with the Fever and just excited.
"Everyone's been super great, really helpful. Just kind of taking it all in stride right now, one step at a time, but everyone's been super helpful. It's been a good transition so far," Bibby said.
After being waived by Golden State on June 30, Bibby joined and led her national team, the Australia Opals, to a gold medal in the 2025 FIBA Women's Asia World Cup earlier this month.
Bibby was in China when she got the news that she would be joining the Fever.
"I went from San Francisco to China. I didn't really get to go back to Australia. So, just from China, I was like, well, I already have some stuff packed, so then just come back over here, back to America. So, yeah, it was good. It all happened pretty fast, but, like I said, super grateful for the opportunity," Bibby said.
The Aussie feels her playing style should suit Indiana well.
"Really physical team, tough, fast-paced and I like that fast style, so I think that suits me a lot. Fast-paced, shoot the three ball and I think that's exactly what I do, so hopefully I can find my strides here and get into some rhythm.
"I think just as long as I bring some energy, fast-paced everything and just try to find my shots within the offense. Just getting to know the girls and chemistry and stuff. It takes time. But, to try to build that quickly and everyone's been really good so far," Bibby said.
Though it's not been as a teammate beforehand, the 27-year-old is familiar with the Fever roster.
"I think I've honestly played against everybody. I haven't played with anybody, but I think with college, professional, there's some sort of tie nearly with everybody on the team, so that's good," Bibby said.
Bibby also has extensive overseas experience, including being named the Polish League MVP while with the AZS AJP Gorzow Wielkopolski in the 2023-24 season, and MVP of the Liga Femenina de Baloncesto in Spain with the Spar Girona in the 2024-25 season.
During her collegiate career, Bibby spent three seasons at Mississippi State before playing her final two seasons at Maryland where she averaged 13.2 and 11.9 points per game during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, respectively.
Bibby was a second-team All-Big Ten selection at Maryland in 2022 and honorable mention All-Big Ten in 2021.
Indiana (13-12) squares off against the Chicago Sky on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. CT on ABC.

The folks over at Pro Football Sports Network ran a full seven-round mock draft via their simulator, and we are going to break down the picks for the Pittsburgh Steelers. We appreciate the work that goes into a mock draft like this and we appreciate them thinking outside the box for the Steelers in the first round. First round - WR Jordyn Tyson - Arizona State After four quarterbacks go off the board in the Top 10 picks, the Steelers pivot here and go for the top receiver in the draft instead. Tyson is absolutely elite and a bargain this late in the round. He's one of the best route-runners of the last five years and impossible to guard one-on-one. Second round - QB Fernando Mendoza - Indiana The calculated risk pays off for the Steelers as Indiana's Fernando Mendoza is still on the board in the second round. By the time the draft gets here, there's a real chance Mendoza is long gone but for now, we will take this as a huge value pick. Third round - CB Chandler Rivers - Duke Assuming Darius Slay doesn't re-sign, adding Rivers here makes a lot of sense. He's got a nose for the football and has a very high ceiling. Third round - G DJ Campbell - Texas We look for Spencer Anderson to replace Isaac Seumalo should he move on after the season, but Campbell is a great option to be in as the top reserve guard on either side. Fourth round - OT Trey Zuhn - Texas A&M Zuhn has an NFL-caliber frame and length, excellent athleticism and lots of room to grow. Fifth round - DT Chris McClellan - Missouri McClellan is a prototypical 3-4 defensive lineman with the build the Steelers look for in a guy who can line up inside and outside. Sixth round - RB Kanye Udoh - Arizona State Udoh heads into the season with a ton of hype as he transferred to ASU from Army. It's an ideal circumstance for Udoh to showcase his skills, although he's not going to be a feature back. Seventh round - TE Tanner Koziol - Houston Crazy frame at 6-foot-7 and a surprisingly good athlete for all that length. Nice developmental prospect.

Indianapolis Colts LB Zaire Franklin making training camp debut
Indianapolis Colts' linebacker Zaire Franklin was on the field and warming up prior to Saturday's training camp practice. Franklin has yet to practice during training camp up to this point as he continued to recover from offseason ankle surgery. Earlier in the week, Shane Steichen expressed his optimism that Franklin would be able to return fairly soon. It appears that time has now come. Now, there may still be a ramp-up period for Franklin. Just because he's warming up may not mean that he goes through team drills today. We will have to wait and see what the practice plan is. Franklin is coming off a career year in which he led the NFL in tackles, while also setting career highs in sacks and interceptions. He made his first Pro Bowl and was named a second-team All-Pro as well. Being paired with Jaylon Carlies, who brings a coverage element to the position as a former safety, and operating in Lou Anarumo's defensive back-heavy scheme, should all benefit Franklin, who could, as a result, see added opportunities near the line of scrimmage this season, which is where he's at his best. Dallas Wings are 0-3 against the Indiana Fever this season after losing 88-78 at AAC
For the second time this season, the Dallas Wings fell to the Indiana Fever at the American Airlines Center, losing 88-78 on Friday night. The game was moved to the AAC in anticipation of a Clark-Paige Bueckers showdown, but Clark missed her 15th game overall and the Fever improved to 8-7 without her. Despite the loss, star rookie Bueckers didn't disappoint the crowd of 17,857 – second highest in Dallas history – with 22 points, her 12th 20-point game as she increased her WNBA record for double-figure games. She was the only player in double figures for the Wings, who now are 8-21 on the season. Arike Ogunbowale had eight points and did not play in the fourth quarter. The Wings could seem to stop the quickness of the Fever's guard Kelsey Mitchell, who put up 23 points, and the frontcourt of Aliyah Boston and Natasha Howard, who had double-doubles. With a 9-0 burst in the second quarter, the Fever pulled away from a 22-22 tie at the end of the first quarter to lead 48-42 at the half. The Fever then upped the lead to 70-57 after three quarters. Dallas cut it to 75-69 in the middle of the fourth quarter, but Indiana scored the next five to all but seal it. Indiana, which tied a season high with 19 turnovers, had 12 3-pointers while Dallas didn't hit one until the fourth quarter and finished 2 for 15 – a season-low 13.3% from beyond the arc. The Wings went 24 for 25 from the foul line for a 14-point advantage, but the Fever were a plus-14 on the boards, plus-10 on the offensive end. The Wings are now 0-3 against the Fever this season. "No excuses. Proud of our resilience in the fourth quarter, but again, we need a toughness right from the tip," Wings head coach Chris Koclanes said during the post-game press conference when asked about the shots not falling in the second half of the game. "They came out stagnating us offensively, and we couldn't do anything or get any type of movement or separation, and on the boards as well. When you're missing shots, you have to play even harder," Koclanes continued. He told the media that his team has areas to continue to improve and grow. Wings forward Maddy Siegrist's return from a knee injury is set for the team's next matchup against the New York Liberty. She was initially expected to hit the floor against the Fever, but was ruled out ahead of the game. Siegrist has missed the last 17 games because of a right knee fracture. Siegrist, the NCAA Division I scoring leader ahead of Clark when she played for Villanova in 2022-23, was limited to 11 games in an injury-plagued rookie season two years ago. She has averaged 9.4 points and 5.2 rebounds in 11 games and had her only double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 boards in the game before she was injured, an 81-65 loss to Minnesota on June 8. Dallas returns to the road on Tuesday, Aug. 5, to face the New York Liberty. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT. Dallas has a 1-0 advantage in the series against New York. The Wings defeated the Liberty 92-82 on July 28.
