Victim shot at Abilene hookah lounge
ABILENE, Texas () – A victim was shot at an Abilene hookah lounge early Sunday morning. The shooting happened at the hookah lounge on the 700 bock of N 6th Street around 2:00 a.m. Police say officers received reports of shots fired at the location and when they arrived on scene, they located a male with a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and has not been public identified. An investigation is underway and police are asking anyone with information on the incident or possible shooter to come forward and contact Abilene Crime Stoppers at (325)676-8477. Shots fired during altercation at north Abilene Allsup's
ABILENE, Texas () – At least one shot was fired during an altercation at a north Abilene Allsup's Wednesday afternoon. The incident happened at Allsup's at the intersection near N 10th Street and Willis Street just before 1:00 p.m. Police at the scene told KTAB and KRBC two parties were involved in an altercation in the parking lot of the convenience store and during the altercation, they pulled guns on each other. One of the suspects fired a shot, which did not hit anybody. The suspect who fired the shot fled the the scene. Police have been unable to locate him and do believe he was injured in some capacity, though they did not disclose how. The other party involved remained on scene and says he was acting out of self defense. An investigation into the incident is ongoing and no further information is available at this time. Driver hospitalized after truck flips onto side in south Abilene
ABILENE, Texas () – A driver was hospitalized after a truck flipped onto its side in south Abilene Thursday morning. The incident happened at the intersection of Spindletop Drive and Industrial Boulevard just before 9:00 a.m. Police at the scene told KTAB and KRBC the driver of the truck pull out onto Industrial Boulevard and was hit by a truck that was oncoming. The truck that pulled out onto Industrial did flip onto its side, and the driver was hospitalized with unknown injuries. No other injuries have been reported in connection to this crash, and it's unknown if any citations have been issued. The investigation is ongoing. Check with for any updates on this crash. Motorcyclist killed in south Abilene crash
ABILENE, Texas () – A motorcyclist was killed in a south Abilene crash Sunday evening. John Thomas Bell, 37, of Abilene was pronounced dead at the hospital following the crash on the 1500 block of South Treadaway Boulevard just before 6:30 p.m. The Abilene Police Department says Bell was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash and investigators do believe alcohol may have been a factor. Woman hit by train in Abilene, witnesses say she ran out of vehicle onto tracks
ABILENE, Texas () –A woman was hit by a train in Abilene Tuesday morning, and witnesses say she ran out of her vehicle onto the tracks. The incident happened on the tracks near N 1st Street and Willis Street just before 10:30 a.m. Witnesses told KTAB and KRBC this woman was driving the wrong way (westbound in the eastbound lanes) down N 1st Street when she pulled over into a business parking lot and ran out of her vehicle and onto the tracks, into the path of an oncoming train. KTAB and KRBC did observe her body covered on the ground at the scene. First responders say they are aware of this woman's identity and need to notify her next of kin.
