The Pat McAfee Show could be coming to Steelers training camp, thanks to Aaron Rodgers

Intense positional battles may not be the only excitement at Steelers training camp this year — as Aaron Rodgers invited Pat McAfee to host his show live in Latrobe. On Tuesday's episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers asked McAfee to come to Latrobe and 'do a little live show at training camp with the Steelers.' Here's how he responded: 'Maybe we should go do a training camp,' McAfee said. 'I don't know if we're allowed — that would have to be approved by the Steelers. I think the Steelers would approve that.' Tone Digs, a co-host on the show, chimed in and said Steelers Senior Director of Communications Bert Lauten approved it. That led to McAfee all but confirming the event: 'Alright, we will.' McAfee, a yinzer through and through, has a proven track record of Steel City entertainment — as evident by his successful Big Night AHT in Pittsburgh show. McAfee has done live shows all over the country — and if Rodgers gets his way, Steelers fans may soon have a front-row seat at training camp. Pat McAfee Show announces first Aaron Rodgers appearance since Steelers signing

Steelers fans may be in for a treat, as four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers is set to appear on tomorrow's episode of The Pat McAfee Show. On Monday, McAfee announced Rodgers would be joining the show — marking his first appearance on the podcast since signing with the Steelers. Back in April, Rodgers appeared on The Pat McAfee Show and shed light on a variety of topics, such as his issues with Jets HC Aaron Glenn, the 'Steelers held hostage' narrative, his no-show at Big Night AHT, and the possibility he was mulling over retirement. While polarizing, when Rodgers speaks, people listen — which is why McAfee's announcement has the Steel City, and the rest of the league, on notice. McCarthy was their guy. Steelers hosted Rodgers for a visit At the end of March, Rodgers had reportedly snuck through the back door of the Steelers facility to meet with GM Omar Khan, HC Mike Tomlin, OC Arthur Smith, and others. Insider Gerry Dulac broke the news — and Rodgers later confirmed on The Pat McAfee Show that the meeting went well. Art Rooney II says all signs on Rodgers arrival are positive ESPN's Brook Pryor reported on April 1 that Steelers President Art Rooney was confident in Rodgers' imminent arrival in Pittsburgh. Rooney admitted that he didn't expect the signing to take so long — but stated the Steelers would wait "a little while longer." Big Night AHT signing rumors One of the biggest Steelers rumors this offseason was Rodgers potentially announcing his Steel City decision at Pat McAfee's Big Night AHT — but he didn't attend the event. McAfee would acknowledge that Rodgers reached out and said it was because he didn't want to take away from the other entertaining individuals that night. The Pat McAfee Show appearance On the April 17 episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers finally cleared the air regarding his 2025 future — addressing his departure from the Jets, Ben Roethlisberger's Vikings speculation, retirement, and a potential Steelers signing. Rodgers joins Pittsburgh country club rumor surfaces On May 10, Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan claimed that Rodgers had allegedly joined Nevillewood Country Club — one of the top-rated golf courses in the Pittsburgh area. Less than eight hours later, CBS Pittsburgh's Rich Walsh shot down the rumor — stating that he had been in contact with the country club and that, while they'd love to have Rodgers, the four-time MVP had not joined. Steelers fan reportedly spots Rodgers leaving Pittsburgh hotel On 93.7 The Fan, "Brett from Southside" called in and reported that Rodgers was spotted leaving a hotel in Pittsburgh's Strip District on Friday, May 23 — just days away from the beginning of Steelers OTAs on May 27. A small rumor spark that set up for a bigger bang from Rodgers himself. Rodgers' hint at Steelers signing at Mike Stud concert goes viral Video of Rodgers' Q&A at a Mike Stud concert was uploaded on Friday, May 23 — where the four-time MVP was asked if he'd ever consider playing for the Bears. He jokingly declined and hinted at potentially facing them on the road in 2025. With the Steelers scheduled to visit Chicago in Week 12 — and other landing spots essentially nonexistent — there's little doubt which team Rodgers was referencing.

Aaron Rodgers had honorable reason to skip Big Night AHT in Pittsburgh

Big Night AHT was one of the most exciting and entertaining Pittsburgh events in recent memory — all thanks to the legendary yinzer himself, Pat McAfee. One notable absence from the show was none other than four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers — who has been tied to the Pittsburgh Steelers since the start of free agency. Advertisement It was rumored that Rodgers would do a favor for his close friend McAfee and announce his decision to play for the Steelers at the show — and it's precisely this rumor that ruffled Rodgers' feathers. When Rodgers first acknowledged Big Night AHT on Thursday's episode of The Pat McAfee Show, he kept it short and sweet: 'I'm sorry I couldn't make it [to Big Night AHT]. I really wanted to be there.' McAfee then quickly jumped in to counter his friend's modesty: '[Rodgers] told me, he was like, 'Could you imagine if I go in there? I'd be the biggest [expletive] of all time. The amount of time that you put into this, and all the people that you have, and then I show up [to steal the spotlight].'' Advertisement Rodgers joked that the conversation he had with McAfee should've been kept private — but his decision to skip Big Night AHT to keep all eyes on the glamour of the show itself was truly honorable.
