June is 'concert season' in Nashville. Festivals, rock shows and Willie Nelson are among our top picks

The month of June in Nashville could be considered "concert season." Between the amphitheaters being open for the summer season and two of the area's biggest festivals happening this month, it's easy to check dozens of performers, from newcomers to legends, off the bucket list — in some cases with one ticket. Here are our top picks for June's live music scene: Wanna see Tigirlily Gold, Shaboozey, Kameron Marlowe, Parker McCollum, Cody Johnson, Kelsea Ballerini and Keith Urban? You don't have to pick one. You can see them all during CMA Fest. This lineup is just from one of the show-packed days of the fest which takes place all across downtown Nashville and features both up-and-coming country acts as well as some of the genre's biggest names on big and more intimate stages. The fest ends each night with a massive lineup inside Nissan Stadium. Tickets: Grammy Award-winner rapper Lil Baby brings his WHAM World Tour to Nashville's Bridgestone Arena with BigXthaPlug and Loe Shimmy. Lil Baby has sold 30 million albums and has 47 RIAA-certified platinum records, 45 RIAA-certified gold records, and over 75 billion global streams. Expect the night to be full of energy with moments of on-stage collabs and maybe even a surprise guest or two. Tickets: Rock review: AC/DC rocks Nashville with sold out Nissan Stadium concert after weather postponement: 'Thank you for sticking with us' Counting Crows burst onto the rock scene in the early '90s with their multi-platinum hit album "August and Everything After," which spawned massive hits such as "Round Here," and "Mr. Jones." The band went on to record seven more studio albums and received Grammy and Academy Award nominations for their song "Accidentally in Love" which the band recorded for the movie "Shrek 2." With The Gaslight Anthem opening, the night promises to be an excellent live rock show. Tickets: Pop-up show: All-American Rejects play rowdy house party in East Nashville and it almost didn't happen: 'This is where rock 'n' roll is born' If CMA Fest wasn't enough of a multi-day live music experience, or you just want to get your festival on, then Manchester's Bonnaroo is a must-see. With four days of music ranging from Olivia Rodrigo to Luke Combs, Goose, Avril Levigne, Red Clay Strays and Glorilla, there's something for everyone who loves live music. The festival offers single-day and multi-day tickets with varying ranges of VIP experiences available. Tickets: Riley Green and Ella Langley emerged with one of the songs you can't get out of your head in 2025: "You Look Like You Love Me," which took home Single and Music Event of the Year at this year's ACM Awards. Green is headlining the show along with Langley, Lauren Watkins and Preston Cooper, which should make for a fun show at a great outdoor venue. Tickets: Good deal: Nashville area concerts by Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss, Nelly among Live Nation's $30 summer tickets promotion Arguably two of the biggest names in music; Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan, will both take the FirstBank Amphitheater stage as part of the 10th anniversary Outlaw Music Festival. Joining these legends are members of the Nelson family along with Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Trampled By Turtles and Tami Neilson. Morgan Wallen Is Only Competing With Himself At This Point

Morgan Wallen can't be beaten this week on the Billboard rankings. His name appears across many of the company's tallies — often in multiple spots — and in some cases, he fills three dozen or more spaces at once. That kind of performance is reserved for only the top stars in the music industry, and even some of them can't manage such a massive showing. Nowhere is Wallen's success more evident than on the Hot Country Songs chart, which makes sense, and he is the true king of the most consumed country tracks in the United States at the moment. Thanks to the many new tracks featured on his No. 1 album I'm the Problem, the singer-songwriter makes history and breaks one of his own records. All 37 tunes featured on I'm the Problem appear on the Hot Country Songs chart this week. The list only includes 50 spaces, which means Wallen occupies almost 75% of the entire roster. Wallen now claims the record for the most simultaneous hits on the Hot Country Songs chart. He beats the previous record of 35 by two additional wins. The superstar and Grammy nominee set that high point just two years ago when his album One Thing at a Time opened atop a number of Billboard rankings, with 35 cuts featured on the set appearing on the same tally. For the first time ever, one artist claims the entirety of the top 10 on the Hot Country Songs chart. Wallen pushes every other tune out of the region, with "All the Way" by BigXthaPlug and Bailey Zimmerman ranking as the loftiest title not connected to him. This frame, that cut dips from No. 7 to No. 11. Half of those top 10s are debuts, while the other half are singles taken from I'm the Problem that had previously spent time inside the space, including a pair of previous champions. As he increases his career total, Wallen reaches a milestone 40 top 10s on the Hot Country Songs chart. Out of 116 total placements, he has now led the charge with 11 different tracks — including his new No. 1, "What I Want." The collaboration with Tate McRae launches atop the country-only ranking this frame.

Lorde Previews New Single in NYC After Police Axe ‘Unscheduled' Pop-Up Appearance

Lorde has given fans in New York City a preview of her new single after plans for an in-person event fell by the wayside thanks to local law enforcement. The New Zealand singer is reportedly preparing to launch new single 'What Was That' on Friday (April 25), with the track serving as her first piece of solo music since 2021. The first taste of her upcoming fourth album, Lorde initially teased the single with her first-ever post on TikTok, sharing a video of herself walking through Washington Square Park in New York City while listening to the dreamy synth-pop track. As a result, fans flooded to Washington Square Park to hopefully catch a glimpse of the musician, though the gathered masses were soon urged to leave by local law enforcement. Lorde took to her Instagram Stories soon after to address those who had turned out for the last-minute affair. 'Omg @thepark the cops are shutting us down I am truly Amazed by how many of you showed up !!!' she wrote. 'But they're telling me you gotta disperse … I'm so sorry.' According to Rolling Stone, a spokesperson for New York City's DCPI stated that officers had been alerted to an 'unscheduled event' within the park, adding that a 'sound and parks permit' is required to hold a concert event in a NYC park. 'This individual did not possess either,' the statement added. 'Organizers of the event were informed they could not perform and they left the location.' Fans who remained within Washington Square Park were rewarded for their patience, however, with the singer later showing up to play her new single. Though Lorde didn't perform the track live, she danced along to 'What Was That' while it was being played by producer Dev Hynes of Blood Orange fame. Lorde's appearance in New York City comes just over a week after she made a surprise appearance during Charli XCX's Coachella set to guest on a performance of 'Girl, So Confusing.' With her new single set to arrive soon, Lorde's new era is fast-approaching, telling fans in her recent voice note that 'everything is about to change.' She added, 'These are the last moments where it's just us, which is crazy. But so right. I'm so ready.' The best, worst and megachurch-iest of Stagecoach Day 2

Less than a week after Coachella concluded, the Stagecoach country music festival has drawn another crowd in the tens of thousands to the now mostly grassless Empire Polo Club in Indio. The three-day event kicked off Friday and will run through Sunday night with headliners Zach Bryan, Jelly Roll and Luke Combs. I'll be here all weekend to bring you the highs and the lows as they happen. Here's what went down on Day 2: 'This is officially the biggest show I've ever headlined in my career,' Jelly Roll said not long into his main-stage performance, and for him that presented an opportunity to do more than entertain: 'I never would have dreamed that God would've brought a boy from Tennessee to the desert of Southern California,' he added, his voice steadily rising like a pastor's, 'to lead us in church service on a Saturday night to heal the broken through the power of music.' True to that framing, the face-tattooed rapper-turned-singer did plaintive versions of his songs 'Son of a Sinner' and 'I Am Not Okay' — both of which draw on his history with drugs and jail to tell stories of redemption — and brought out an actual worship leader, Brandon Lake, to sing his growly Christian-music crossover hit, 'Hard Fought Hallelujah.' The stage set resembled a gas station with a neon sign assuring us that Jesus saves — an oasis in the desert, in other words. Jelly Roll made time for some more earthly pleasures: cameos from BigXthaPlug and Wiz Khalifa that reminded you of his hip-hop roots, and an appearance by MGK, who did his appealingly bratty pop-punk 'My Ex's Best Friend.' He also brought out Alex Warren to sing his gloopy ballad 'Ordinary' and to premiere a new duet between the two of them called 'Oh My Brother.' (Unfortunately, it sounded like Imagine Dragons.) Jelly Roll finished his set with another faith-minded moment, welcoming Lana Del Rey to the stage to join him for 'Save Me' as simulated rain fell on the two of them. Del Rey's feathery croon was totally wrong for the song, which calls for an unembarrassed quality that's not part of her whole deal. But Jelly Roll looked so amped to have her out there that you were inclined — hey, what do you know — to forgive. Saturday's big megachurch energy continued with Creed's late-night set in the Palomino tent, where singer Scott Stapp struck an assortment of messianic poses as his bandmates ground out the gospel-grunge riffs of 'One Last Breath' and 'Higher.' For the latter, Creed brought out the pop-soul star Tori Kelly — just one of the many millennials and zoomers who've kept Creed in business a quarter-century after the band's hit-making era. Did you know that Lana Del Rey had made out with your pal Morgan Wallen, as she claimed in a song at Stagecoach on Friday night?Did she say so? Good for her. Your girlfriend recently announced she's pregnant. If you could choose, what would be the first song your child hears?'Island in the Sun' by Weezer? I don't know. It's a good vibe. You posted a photo the other day of you and Bailey Zimmerman hanging out at Billy Bob's in Texas. Bailey's drinking a Twisted Tea. Did you let him know that Twisted Tea is a disgusting drink?I honestly don't know what happened that night. We went to a bar, and I think his manager was like, 'Please don't go out with Koe.' Once we got offstage, it was sort of chaos — kind of black-out city. Twisted Tea, I'm not a big fan of it. But Bailey's young. I remember being that young and drinking it too — I can't hold it against him. What's an adult beverage you've sworn off?I will never drink Rumple Minze ever again. Last year, Jessie Murph said on TikTok that she'd been called a rat by some of your fans for appearing on your song 'High Road.' Then she directed them to the solo version you released and told them to go get their DUIs. What's your response? She's a bad bitch. Shout out to her. Everybody that was talking s—, go f— yourself. You wrote songs for your album '9 Lives' with the songwriter Amy Allen, who also had a hand in Sabrina Carpenter's 'Short n' Sweet.' Are you into Sabrina's album?I'd be a liar if I said I wasn't in there jamming it. I'm a Sabrina fan. Are you involved in a beef with another musician at the moment?I'm currently beefless. I think I'm pretty cool with everybody. If you hear different from somebody else, though, let me know — we'll fire it up for sure. Last week you posted a photo from the studio. The best new song you've got so far — what's it about? We wrote a song about a serial killer the other day. What's a tattoo you regret?'F— 2020' on my leg. I was super-drunk when I got it. I woke up the next morning, wiped the blood away and said, 'Well, that's there forever.' Tiera Kennedy, dressed in an Aaliyah T-shirt for her second Stagecoach performance of the day, moving nimbly through SWV's always-welcome 'Weak.' Ashley McBryde, on the main stage at sunset, nailing the haunted yet blissed-out vibe of Don Henley's 'The Boys of Summer.' Playing Stagecoach as part of a tour behind last year's 'Passage du Desir' (which he released under the alter ego Johnny Blue Skies), Sturgill Simpson and his tight four-piece band offered up an hour of soulful boogie-rock jams that evoked the Allman Brothers backed by Booker T. & the M.G.'s. Speaking of covers: In addition to William Bell's early-'60s soul staple 'You Don't Miss Your Water,' Simpson played a longing rendition of, uh, 'Party All the Time' by Eddie Murphy. Like T-Pain on Friday, Shaboozey completed a rare Indio trifecta on Saturday, performing on Stagecoach's main stage after doing both weekends of Coachella. (Perhaps that's why he wore three bedazzled belts as part of his sharp denim suit.) The rap-fluent country star sang a moving rendition of Bob Dylan's 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door,' which he called one of his favorite songs of all time; brought out Sierra Ferrell to do 'Hail Mary'; and closed of course with 'A Bar Song (Tipsy),' his 2024 smash that spent 19 weeks atop Billboard's Hot 100 last year. Around the time of February's Grammy Awards, Shaboozey appeared to have tired — reasonably! — of 'Tipsy's' rootsy jollity. Here, though, he seemed reenergized by the thousands singing along. One vivid demonstration of Stagecoach's evolution from the festival's early days: Scott Storch's appearance inside Diplo's HonkyTonk, where the producer and songwriter was introduced by his Don Julio-guzzling hype man as the guy who dated both Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian. Eyes hidden behind his signature aviators, Storch took up a spot behind a Korg Kronos synthesizer and played along with a handful of the slinky pop and R&B hits he helped create in the early 2000s — not least Justin Timberlake's 'Cry Me a River,' before which he very dramatically ripped a cig. Help me parse the timeline in your viral hit 'Austin.' The narrator used to live in L.A., then moved to Austin and now is talking about moving back to L.A.?'Austin' is actually about Nashville, but Nashville had some s— rhymes, so we changed it to Austin. In the song, I had been in Nashville — Austin — was living in L.A., and I was moving back to Nashville. That was the whole storyline there. And the guy that I was talking to was in Nashville. Well, Austin. Hmm. Is it true that things don't rhyme with Nashville?Cashville? Hashville? Would you rather be 10% smarter or 10% funnier?Funnier. I feel pretty smart. But also: You have to be intelligent to be funny. What's the last thing you used ChatGPT for?In the set today, I whip out a harmonica and play it, so we built a harmonica holster into my outfit — my ass-less chaps that are hanging over there. They were asking what the dimensions were, and I was like, 'How would I know?' But ChatGPT will know. Throwback to your L.A. days: Ralphs or Vons?I'm more of a Trader Joe's girl. Most hated freeway? The 10 is f—ing terrible. Do you consider yourself a theater kid?Yes — a thespian, all the way. Is 'theater kid' derogatory?People use it as an insult, but I think it's the biggest compliment. Before I go onstage, to everyone in my band and my dancers, I'm like, 'Broadway, guys — Broadway.' I channel my musical-theater self onstage, as if I'm playing myself in a musical-theater production. What's a musical you'd like to be in but you haven't yet?I'm dying to play Sandy in 'Grease.' How many unread text messages do you have?823. Does anyone besides you know the passcode to your phone?I think my whole team does. I don't have anything to hide on there.

Teddy Swims Makes Chart History as ‘Lose Control' Beats the Weeknd's Record for Most Weeks in Top 10

Teddy Swims made chart history this week as his hit single 'Lose Control' broke the record for longest-running song in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. 'Lose Control,' which bumps from No. 8 to 7, has now logged a total of 58 weeks in the chart's top 10, beating the Weeknd's record of 57 weeks with 'Blinding Lights.' The song has spent 87 overall weeks in the Hot 100, and first entered the top 10 in Jan. 2024. It previously peaked at No. 1 following the longest consecutive climb to the summit at 32 weeks. Elsewhere on the singles chart, Kendrick Lamar and SZA earn a ninth consecutive week at No. 1 with 'Luther,' just ahead of Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' 'Die With a Smile' and Drake's 'Nokia.' Chappell Roan's 'Pink Pony Club' bumps from No. 5 to 4, while Alex Warren's 'Ordinary' ticks from No. 7 to 5. Rounding out the top 10 are 'A Bar Song (Tipsy),' 'Lose Control,' BigXthaPlug's 'All the Way' featuring Bailey Zimmerman, Benson Boone's 'Beautiful Things' and Morgan Wallen's 'I'm the Problem.' As for the highest-performing albums of the week, Ken Carson earned his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with his latest, 'More Chaos' (Opium/Interscope Records). It was a relatively light week for album debuts — Carson's set leads with 59,500 equivalent album units — as no other fresh sets entered the top 10. Billboard reports 'More Chaos' had the smallest weekly total for a No. 1 album in nearly three years, since 2022 when Pusha T's 'It's Almost Dry' opened at No. 1 with just under 55,000 units. And thanks to the opening dates of Lamar and SZA's 'Grand National Tour,' albums from both superstars re-entered the top three with 'GNX' climbing to No. 2 (from No. 5) and 'SOS' lifting to No. 3 (from No. 4), respectively. Elsewhere, Sabrina Carpenter's 'Short n' Sweet' claims the No. 4 slot; Drake and PartNextDoor's '$ome $exy $ongs 4 U' is at No. 5; Morgan Wallen's 'One Thing at a Time' is at No. 6; Playboi Carti's 'Music' is at No. 7; Bad Bunny's 'Debí Tirar Más Fotos' is at No. 8; Ariana Grande's 'Eternal Sunshine' is at No. 9; and Lady Gaga's 'Mayhem' rounds out the tally at No. 10.
