Nitish's son urges people to ensure victory of NDA
Patna: CM Nitish Kumar 's son Nishant Kumar on Su nda y urged the people of Bihar to ensure victory of NDA in the forthcoming assembly polls to once again make his father the state's chief minister. While interacting with reporters at the Mahavir Mandir near Patna Junction, where he had gone to perform 'Rudrabhishek' on his birthday, Nishant also hoped that people would re-elect his father as the latter recently came with several pro-people schemes and also promised to provide jobs and employment opportunities to one crore youth over five years. Many people were recruited in various govt departments. The 35% quota for women has now been reserved for women hailing from Bihar. Also, power consumers in the state will be getting 125 units free," said Nishant while recounting the works of his father. Nishant does not play an active role in politics. However, in recent months, he has started appearing on public platforms, fuelling speculation about his entry into electoral politics. Asked whether Nishant will contest the assembly election himself, he avoided giving a direct answer and said, "Chaliye thik hai, isspar aage dekha jayega" (Alright, let's see about that later)." HC seeks ATR on Badi Patan Devi temple committee
Patna: The high court on Friday asked the Patna DM to submit an action taken report (ATR) regarding the formation of an 11-member committee for the daily management and upkeep of the Badi Patan Devi temple in Patna City. A single bench of Justice Rajiv Roy passed the order while hearing a contempt petition filed by Prahlad Kumar Yadav. On Oct 10 last year, Justice Roy had asked the Bihar State Board of Religious Trust to immediately remove tainted members from the existing temple management committee and directed the Patna DM to initiate the process of forming a new committee. The court had emphasised that this must be done in line with the guidelines set out in a high court judgment dated July 23, 2024, delivered in a case related to the Kusheshwar Asthan Trust in Darbhanga district. State counsel Prashant Pratap informed the court that a managing committee has already been constituted for Kusheshwar Asthan in compliance with the July 2024 judgment. He added that the Board is now legally obligated to form similar committees for all thakurbari, temple and muth entities registered as public religious trusts in Bihar. The matter is scheduled to be heard again on Aug 8.
