y urged the people of Bihar to ensure victory of NDA in the forthcoming assembly polls to once again make his father the state's chief minister.
While interacting with reporters at the Mahavir Mandir near Patna Junction, where he had gone to perform 'Rudrabhishek' on his birthday, Nishant also hoped that people would re-elect his father as the latter recently came with several pro-people schemes and also promised to provide jobs and employment opportunities to one crore youth over five years.
"He has done so much for people in the recent past. He recently announced to provide govt jobs and employment opportunities to one crore youth in the next five years. Many people were recruited in various govt departments. The 35% quota for women has now been reserved for women hailing from Bihar. Also, power consumers in the state will be getting 125 units free," said Nishant while recounting the works of his father.
Nishant does not play an active role in politics.
However, in recent months, he has started appearing on public platforms, fuelling speculation about his entry into electoral politics. Asked whether Nishant will contest the assembly election himself, he avoided giving a direct answer and said, "Chaliye thik hai, isspar aage dekha jayega" (Alright, let's see about that later)."
"My mother, while she was alive, used to conduct 'Rudrabhishek' and feed poor people on my birthday every year.

After her demise (in 2007), my father continued the tradition. I came to this temple after taking my father's blessings," said Nishant, who is the only child of his parents.
During his visit, strict security arrangements were made at the Mahavir Mandir complex. At the temple, Nishant was welcomed by Sayan Kunal, a member of the Bihar State Board of Religious Trust and son of late Acharya Kishore Kunal, an IPS-turned-religious leader who was the secretary 'Mahavir Mandir Trust' till his death in Dec last year.

3 held for stoking communal hatred
Lucknow: With the arrest of three people, Uttar Pradesh Police on Monday claimed to have foiled an alleged Pakistan-linked digital conspiracy to incite communal riots and possible terror attacks during the Kanwar Yatra in western UP. The miscreants were arrested for allegedly circulating morphed and inflammatory videos and audios designed to provoke communal hatred, police said. Police confirmed the footage was from Muzaffargarh in Pakistan and was related to an incident involving the murder of a woman and her seven children by her husband in April last year. The conspirators misrepresented this incident to spark communal violence. A special police team arrested Mohammed Nadeem (25), Mansher (45), and Rahees alias Furkan (35) from Kakrauli. Three mobile phones used for spreading the content were seized, and a case under relevant BNS sections and the UAPA Act has been registered. Investigations are underway to identify other collaborators, with possible links to radical outfits and Pakistani agencies, said police officers in the DGP headquarters. "The digital diagnostics revealed that the morphed message originated from Pakistan," said Bhanu Bhaskar, additional DG, Meerut zone. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Nikoo Homes: Luxury Starts @ ₹1.2 Cr* Nikoo Homes Sadahalli Learn More Undo Given Muzaffarnagar's sensitive law-and-order environment, the security was intensified with the deployment of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Rapid Action Force and rigorous social media monitoring. The police identified a WhatsApp group, 'Kakrauli Yuva Ekta', where fake videos and audios were being circulated to inflame tensions. "This was not just an attempt to spread communal hatred but a premeditated plan to provoke riots and possibly orchestrate a lone-wolf terror attack," said a senior officer. On the directions of DGP Rajeev Krishna, the police are continuously monitoring social media, said Bhanu Bhaskar.

Jagdeep Dhankhar's Resignation Starts Race For Next Vice President
New Delhi: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar's abrupt resignation on Monday evening has opened the contest for his successor. With the ruling BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) enjoying a majority in the electorate, which includes the members of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, it was taken by surprise by Dhankhar's decision to quit. It is likely to consider the probable names in the coming days. One of the governors, as Dhankhar was of West Bengal before taking the vice president's office, or a seasoned organisational leader or one of the Union ministers -- the BJP has a large pool of leaders to choose from for the position. Dhankhar's predecessor was M Venkaiah Naidu, a former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president who was in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he was tapped by the party for the key constitutional position in 2017. "We are still processing it. But I believe the party will choose someone who is a solid choice and is non-controversial," a BJP leader said, suggesting that a veteran party hand might be the preferred option. Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, a Janata Dal (United) MP, is also being seen as a probable as he has been serving in the position since 2020 and enjoys the government's trust. Dhankhar's three-year tenure was marked by his frequent run-ins with opposition parties in the Rajya Sabha but his voluble commentary, often on contentious issues, left the government less than amused at times. In a sudden move, Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned from his post on Monday evening, citing medical reasons. He has sent his resignation to President Droupadi Murmu and said he is stepping down with immediate effect. "To prioritise health care and abide by medical advice, I hereby resign as Vice President of India, effective immediately, in accordance with Article 67(a) of the Constitution," Dhankhar said in his letter to the president. Dhankhar, 74, assumed office in August 2022 and his tenure was till 2027. He was also the chairman of the Rajya Sabha and his resignation came on the first day of the Monsoon session of Parliament. Dhankhar's abrupt resignation followed a day of surprising developments in the Rajya Sabha for the government, as an opposition-sponsored notice for a motion to remove Allahabad High Court judge Yashwant Varma was submitted to him and he mentioned it in the House. The development came as a jolt to the ruling alliance, which had sponsored a similar notice in the Lok Sabha and taken the opposition on board. Dhankhar was the NDA's candidate in the election for the vice president, who is also the ex-officio Chair of the Rajya Sabha, in 2022.
