'P***** off' Goldberg HITS OUT at WWE for ruining his last-ever match and retirement speech insisting they wouldn't have treated John Cena or The Undertaker that way

Former WWE world champion Bill Goldberg has hit out at his send-off from the sport after a disappointing retirement match last weekend. Goldberg, a five-time WWE champion, said he was 'p***** off' at the way his last bout with current champion Gunther was handled. The former wrestler and NFL footballer, who was also the WCW champion and has been inducted into the WWE hall of fame, complained about his post-fight speech being cut by the broadcaster. 'Let's just say I'm p***** off at the way I went out,' he said on The Ariel Helwani Show. 'I put so much into it and I don't feel as though the effort was reciprocated to put a stamp on what I accomplished. 'I'm not going to say I'm not ecstatic about the opportunity that I got, but I was a WCW guy. "Let's just say I'm pissed off at the way I went out. I put so much into it and I don't feel as though the effort was reciprocated to put a stamp on what I've accomplished. I think it could have been done a little bit differently. That's all. 'I'm happy with my performance, I'm happy with the setting but could it have been better? Absolutely, it can always be better.' As Goldberg took the microphone to confirm he had just completed his last fight, his speech was cut short by the broadcaster seemingly short on time. When pressed for more detail on what could have been done differently, Goldberg turned to the matter of his speech. 'There's about 100 things,' he said. 'I did three interviews beforehand... I did three. In six months. 'They cut me off 30 seconds into my speech bro, you don't do that. 'It's live television and you can plan for it. I know it is what it is. 'The match might have gone long, whatever it is, but I just think it could have been a little classier prepared than it was. 'I'll just say that's a mild understatement. Come on, man. 'They wouldn't do that to Taker right? They're not gonna do that to Cena, Cena's gone around the world doing his retirement thing. 'Mine was just a World Heavyweight Championship match.

Saturday Night's Main Event 2025: Predictions, match card,

Saturday night keeps getting hotter. WWE is fresh off a Night of Champions card that packed plenty of action and set the stage for a huge weekend this weekend. Now, WWE will put on Saturday Night's Main Event, and the show is loaded. Advertisement Here's everything you need to know about the show. When is Saturday Night's Main Event? Saturday Night's Main Event will be held July 12. What time is Saturday Night's Main Event? The show will start at 8 p.m. and will last two hours. What channel is Saturday Night's Main Event on? Saturday Night's Main Event will air live on NBC. How to stream Saturday Night's Main Event The show will stream live on Peacock. Where is Saturday Night's Main Event taking place? Saturday Night's Main Event will be held at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Saturday Night's Main Event match card GUNTHER vs. Bill Goldberg for the WWE championship Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre Solo Sikoa vs. Jimmy Uso for the United States championship Advertisement Saturday Night's Main Event predictions Here's how we see the matches going on Saturday. GUNTHER vs. Bill Goldberg prediction I'm really looking forward to this match. Goldberg isn't a kid, but he is a legend. And he will give this match his all. He's in there against one of the best. If anyone can protect a guy who isn't at his best, it's the ring general. Goldberg is going to hit some big moves, he's going to make it fun, and he's going to go out on his back. Looking forward to this, looking forward to see where GUNTHER goes from here and happy that Bill Goldberg is getting a chance at his retirement match. And this is coming from a huge Bret Hart fan! Prediction: Goldberg shines, GUNTHER wins. Advertisement Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight prediction Is anyone better than these two right now? It's crazy that this match is on free TV. Seth Rollins is the hottest thing in wrestling, something that often happens with Paul Heyman guys. And the fans are so in love with LA Knight. He's in the mix as a top guy and he's capable of doing even more. I don't want to see either of these guys lose. The winner will get help. It would make sense for Rollins' henchmen to interfere and cost LA, but I think Roman Reigns returns here. Why not? Have him come out, beat up Seth, and set up a SummerSlam match. I still want this match to headline WrestleMania, but if they're doing it in New Jersey, I'm all in! I'm going with LA Knight. Yeah! Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre prediction A friend floated an interesting double turn in this match. I never thought of it, but Orton is slowly turning bad and how much longer will the fans boo a guy like Drew McIntyre? That's a great idea. This will be another great match with two top stars, and it's crazy WWE can just throw matches like this around on free TV and not worry about burning through a main event because the roster has so much depth. Both should win, so it's a coinflip. I'm going with Drew McIntyre winning. I'd really like to see him vs. GUNTHER soon. Advertisement Solo Sikoa vs. Jimmy Uso prediction This is going to have a bunch of interference, and hopefully it gets the Bloodline back on track. I can't see them taking the title off of Solo, so I'll say his friends jump in and cost Uso the chance at the win, but Jacob Fatu comes out and him and Jimmy clean house. Maybe Jey comes back to help? The Bloodline was the best storyline in WWE history, and I'm not sure what inning we're in now, but I'd be all for a doubleheader. Prediction: Solo Sikoa retains US Title, but crazy stuff happens after. This article originally appeared on Asbury Park Press: Saturday Night's Main Event card, predictions, how to watch

Former WCW champion Bill Goldberg will take on Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship in what is set to be his 'final' match. Here's why Goldberg is leaving the wrestling business behind and how you can watch him step into the ring one final time on UK television. When we mentioned at the start of the week that it is going to be a busy weekend for wrestling fans, we were not kidding around. With WWE Friday Night Smackdown around the corner, could more matches be announced for either the WWE's all-female PLE, Evolution, or will another match be added to what is already a pretty stacked card for the latest WWE Saturday Night's Main Event? Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Lapsed wrestling fans might have a particular interest in watching this month's event, as former WCW Champion Bill Goldberg steps into the ring, expectedly for his last time, as he challenges World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. After 'The Ring General' had called out Goldberg for months, last Monday saw the current champion narrowly avoid getting speared by Goldberg. But he still managed to get punched in the face while backing down from Goldberg's goading to hit him. Here's how you can watch Goldberg's 'last match' (we use that very loosely for good reason) in the United Kingdom, along with what other matches are scheduled to take place on the July 12, 2025, edition of Saturday Night's Main Event. Why is Bill Goldberg retiring from wrestling? Former WCW champion Bill Goldberg will be wrestling what is anticipated to be his retirement match at the weekend's WWE Saturday Night Main Event. | WWE Is he though? In wrestling, nothing is ever for certain… But Bill Goldberg's upcoming match against Gunther in Atlanta is widely speculated to be his final match in WWE. The decision to retire at this point is primarily driven by a combination of his advancing age, the toll his intense wrestling style has taken on his body, and a desire to live a more 'laid-back life' with his family. At 58 years old, Goldberg has been candid about the significant physical hurdles he faces in preparing for in-ring competition. He has revealed experiencing multiple injuries during his training for this final bout, including severe limitations with his left knee (making running difficult) and a right shoulder that he hasn't been able to use effectively for five years. These long-standing and recent injuries severely restrict his ability to perform his signature moves, like the Spear and Jackhammer, at the level he expects of himself. He's mentioned on his podcast that he has "a life to live" and "responsibilities," indicating a shift in focus away from the demanding schedule of professional wrestling. He views this match as an opportunity to go out on his own terms and transition into a new chapter. While the storyline with Gunther began with "The Ring General" disrespecting Goldberg and his son, the underlying reasons for Goldberg's retirement are deeply personal and physical, culminating in this final anticipated performance. What other matches are taking place at the next WWE Saturday Night's Main Event? Three matches have so far been confirmed to take place on the July 12 2025 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event - alongside the aforementioned Goldberg v Gunther match, LA Knight will square off against Seth Rollins while Randy Orton will take on Drew McIntyre. WWE champion Gunther admits Goldberg is still 'very intimidating personality' as he gears up for title match

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is next. At least that's what Hall of Famer Goldberg declared as he re-entered the professional wrestling world for one final match. He has had his sights set on "The Ring General" since their interaction at Bad Blood last year. Goldberg will look to avenge some of the comments Gunther made about him and his family at "Saturday Night's Main Event" on July 12. Gunther told Fox News Digital he was looking forward to the opportunity, even as Goldberg has threatened to "beat the f---" out of him. "That is the intensity you expect from Bill Goldberg, that is what he is known for," Gunther said. "He is not somebody that beats around the bush or tells a lengthy story about all the intricate details of why he acts the way he acts. He is straight to the point and that is what made him stand out throughout his whole career. "He is 58 years old now, but I can tell everyone when he is in the ring with me, like in front of me, this man is a very intimidating personality, very tall person, still in fantastic shape, so yeah, I am ready for it, and I am ready to face it. It is going to be very interesting how it plays out in the ring." Gunther teased Goldberg in recent weeks about defeating him in three minutes – something Goldberg was famous for during the dominant days of his reign in World Championship Wrestling. However, whether it's three minutes, 30 minutes or three seconds, Gunther just wants to walk out of Atlanta as the victor. "We shall see. At the end of the day, especially when it is for the title, a win is a win. But I am not too concerned about that," Gunther told Fox News Digital. But it's always been me playing with all the synonymous things or terms out there with Bill Goldberg and that is what made him stand out. "An absolute killer his whole career. He was not known for long classic matches. He is known for being a killer, finished off everyone in a very short time, and he was very successful with it. So let's see it is going to be interesting what he wants to do, what his strategy is for everything, is he going to try to play a bit slower or try to stick to what he always did, so it is going to be interesting to see." With Seth Rollins as the holder of the Money in the Bank contract, which guarantees him a title shot at any place or any time, Gunther's second World Heavyweight Championship reign may not be for long. However, Gunther made clear his mind is on Goldberg going into the premium live event later this month.
