Battlefield 6 trailer is here: A look at theme, release date, and more
After years in development, Battlefield 6 is now gearing up for release. The makers, on Thursday, July 24, released the trailer of the highly anticipated game. The short video shows a glimpse of the theme of a significant geopolitical conflict. The events in the game take place between 2027 and 2030, and reportedly the missions seem to be in locations resembling the Great Siege Tunnels of Gibraltar. The trailer also shows New York under intense attack. The narrative centres around a battle between NATO and a private military organisation. According to the trailer, the military organisation named 'Pax Armata' attacks countries like Gibraltar, Belgium, and Georgia and the world at large. The footage that has been made public thus far also raises the possibility that allies like France are switching to Pax Armata, which seeks to undermine NATO's influence. According to renowned tipster Billbil-kun of Dealabs, Battlefield 6 will be released on October 10, 2025. It will be available in both a basic edition ($79.99) and a premium Phantom edition ($109.99). Game developer DICE, reportedly, conducted extensive testing on Battlefield 6. But reports suggest that only a limited number of players were allowed to participate in the covert playtest, which required them to sign non-disclosure agreements. However, a number of players broke their pledges of confidentiality and started sharing gameplay videos on YouTube. Additionally, EA has confirmed that an open beta, which extends the playtest to all players, will be arriving soon. Open Weapons vs Closed Weapons Why not both? Starting at Open Beta players can choose official playlists with Signature Weapons locked to class, or not. More to come. — Battlefield (@Battlefield) July 21, 2025 DICE did not share the playtest's start date, but the EA app has revealed the date. Reportedly the EA app on PC contained mentions of the BF6 beta alongside a publication date set for August 4, 2025. If true, the open beta will likely be announced during the multiplayer reveal event. Battlefield 6 will be skipping old-gen machines and releasing solely on current-gen consoles. Here are all the platforms Battlefield 6 will be available on: Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PS5. However, the PC version is said to be $10 less expensive. Pre-orders are expected to go live on July 31 without early access on any edition. Standard edition owners can upgrade to the Phantom version at any time for $29.99.

Massive PS5 discount and Call Of Duty bundle coming this week claims leak
Sony is set to announce various price cuts for the PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro as part of a new sale, according to a reliable insider. Shortly after raising the price of the PlayStation 5 digital edition in the UK, it seems Sony is preparing to announce some temporary discounts. Every year around May, Sony usually holds a Days Of Play event with special offers across PlayStation games and consoles. Last year's event saw the company make massive £90 reductions on the PSVR2, while the PlayStation 5 received a £40 discount. It seems Sony is preparing to announce a similar set of discounts for this year, along with a reduction to the recently launched PS5 Pro. According to reliable leaker Billbil-kun, this year's Days Of Play event will start from Wednesday, May 28 and run for two weeks until June 11, 2025. As part of this sale, it's claimed the standard and digital versions of the PlayStation 5 console will receive a discount of €100 in Europe. While no UK price specifics are given, if it directly lines up, this will equate to around £80 off the £479.99 and £429.99 price for each respective console in the UK. The PS5 Pro will also apparently see a discount, albeit only €50 off the €799.99 price in Europe. In the UK, the PS5 Pro costs £699.99. It's claimed the PSVR2 headset will similarly receive a €50 discount, while a selection of DualSense controllers will be available for €54.99. More Trending According to the leak, these won't be the only discounts revealed during the event. A series of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 bundles are also expected to launch on the same day, which will include a digital copy of the game alongside the PlayStation 5 console. The bundle with the standard version of the PlayStation 5, with a disc drive, will apparently cost €50 more than the standard price in the sale, at 'around 499 euros'. Meanwhile, the digital edition bundle will see the same increase to €449.99. There's a chance not all of these promotions will apply to the UK, and it's unclear if the US tariffs will impact its potential rollout in other territories, but we won't have long to wait, as the official announcement is expected sometime on Tuesday, May 27. Beyond this event, Sony is rumoured to be planning a State Of Play presentation for next month, although some believe it may have been delayed to the autumn. Nintendo Switch 2 US pre-orders expected "in days"
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Quick Summary A renowned leaker has revealed the pre-order dates for the Nintendo Switch 2 in the US and Canada. Already available to order in the UK and elsewhere, North American pre-orders will allegedly start next week – from 21 April. The Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order phase will finally begin in the US and Canada next week, it is claimed. According to a renowned video games leaker, Nintendo has settled on a price after the tumultuous to-ing and fro-ing over tariffs, and North American retailers will be given the green light to take orders for the new console. The final RRP is not fully clear as yet, but Billbil-kun, who has regularly been spot on with other leaks, has posted on BlueSky that Canadians will be able to pre-order the Switch 2 from 23 April (next Wednesday). He then followed it up with a post suggesting the US pre-order date could be even sooner – from 21 April. This was gleaned from his contacts at "some US retailers", he says. Billbil-kun also suggests that accessories, such as the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller and official SanDisk microSD Express cards will enter the pre-order phase on 30 April. It is highly likely, considering how quickly the alleged pre-order round is now approaching, that Nintendo has opted to keep its price at the originally quoted $449.99. The company (or US retailers) will be swallowing any extra costs imposed by Trump's tariffs. That could be because Nintendo of America already imported "thousands" of consoles ahead of the tariffs being implemented. And as a large amount of additional units will be manufactured in Vietnam, they apply for the 10% import charge that is currently in place, rather than the 145% levied on China. Sadly, the Nintendo Switch 2 nor any other video games console or accessory is eligible for the same tariff exemption as smartphones and semi-conductors. If it was made by Apple, that might have been a different story. The console price in the UK, Europe and Australia remain unaffected by US tariffs. They continue to be set at £395.99, €469.99, and A$699.95 respectively. You can find out how to pre-order your Switch 2 in those countries via our handy live stock checker.

New PS5 Console Bundle Leaked, Reportedly Out Soon
A new PS5 console bundle is reportedly in the works, and will be out as soon as March 2025, according to a reliable insider. We're leaning towards this rumor being true because the bundle allegedly includes a copy of GOTY 2024, , which Sony would naturally want to highlight. This report is brought to us by Dealabs user billbil-kun, who has a near flawless track record when it comes to leaks. According to them, the bundle will include a standard PS5 Slim along with a disc drive, and a download code for Astro Bot. Billbil-kun didn't say if the PS5 Pro and PS5 Slim digital edition will get the bundle treatment or not. However, they did say that the release date is expected to be March 13, 2025, so we'll find out soon enough. Billbil-kun is based in Europe, so this date may not apply to the U.S. and/or other regions where the bundle will launch. They estimated the European price tag to be around 474 and 499 euros. As for when the PS5 Astro Bot bundle will be announced, billbil-kun is speculating a reveal at the rumored PlayStation State of Play, which is reportedly taking place later this week.
