Abhilasham OTT Release Date: When and where to watch Saiju Kurup & Thanvi Ram's Malayalam romantic film online
Abhilasham OTT Release Date: Saiju Kurup recently headlined this Malayalam film, which is now ready to make its digital debut. Released theatrically on March 29, the romantic saga received mixed reviews and earned Rs 1.08 crore at the box office. Directed by Shamzu Zayba, OTT lovers can now watch Abhilasham on Prime Video starting May 23, and those outside India can stream it on Simply South. Abhilasham's cast and crew Produced by Ann Sariga Antony and Shankar Das under the banner of Second Show Productions, this Sreehari K Nair musical is cinematographed by Sajad Kakku and edited by Nimz. Other than Saiju, Abhilasham also stars Thanvi Ram, Arjun Ashokan, Shine Tom Chacko, Navas Vallikkunnu, Binu Pappu, Uma KP, Neeraja Rajendran, Sheethal Zackaria, Ajisha Prabhakaran, Nimna Fathoomi, Vasudev Sajeesh, Aadhish Praveen, Zhinz Shan and Nandana Rajan among others. Abhilasham's plot overview The story revolves around Abhilash, a man who has harboured feelings for his childhood friend Sherin for years but has never expressed them. After Sherin returns to town as a widow with a daughter, Abhilash's unspoken love resurfaces. His best friend, a lawyer named Ajesh, devises a plan to bring them closer by involving them in a legal complication over a shipment of attar bottles, leading to humorous and heartfelt situations. Abhilasham's review A part of The Lensmen's review of the film read, 'Abhilasham was a concept where if they had reduced the melodrama and used the climax to build a 20-minute short film, the feel factor would have worked wonderfully. The kind of breathing space the film gets when Binu Pappu and Tanvi Ram have a conversation at the end should have been the movie's tone. Pirated copy of 'Thudarum' screened on tourist bus, producer to take legal action
A pirated copy of the film Thudarum was found being shown on a tourist bus travelling from Malappuram to Vagamon. A student who was on the trip recorded the incident and sent the video to actor Binu Pappu via Facebook. Producer M Renjith has said that legal action will be taken against those responsible for this illegal screening. reported Onmanorama Meanwhile, Thudarum, starring Mohanlal and directed by Tharun Moorthy, has become a box office hit, entering the Rs 100 crore club on its sixth day in cinemas. This is Mohanlal's second film this year, after Empuraan, to achieve this milestone. The film is his 360th project and also stars Shobana in a leading role.

Fahadh Faasil, Arjun Das thriller Torpedo to roll from year-end, says Thudarum's Tharun Moorthy
The latest Mohanlal film directed by Tharun Moorthy is going strong in theatres and is all set to be released in Tamil too on May 9. While the director has been busy promoting Thudarum across Kerala and meeting fans, he took time out to have a quick chat with Hindustan Times. Talking about his new film, the Saudi Vellakka director said, 'My next project is with Fahadh Faasil and Arjun Das. We just announced the project in fact. It's titled Torpedo and is a kind of thriller that has been written by my colleague Binu Pappu, who is an actor and associate director. We have a great working relationship. The music is by Sushin Shyam, Vivek Harshan is the editor and the cinematographer is Jimshi Khalid. Ashiq Usman is the producer. We will start shooting the film at the end of the year.' Torpedo also features actors Naslen and Ganapathi. The film's production design is being done by Gokul Das, while Mashar Hamsa is handling costume design. There will be some stunning action sequences that will be choreographed by Supreme Sundar. Writer Binu Pappu has worked with Moorthy on his first film Operation Java as an actor and as an associate director and actor in Moorthy's second film, Saudi Vellakka. In 2022, Binu Pappu had told media that he was working on a screenplay that will be directed by Moorthy and it has come to fruition now. Given that Thudarum has grossed more than ₹130 crore in nine days worldwide, there is a lot of excitement about his next film with Fahadh Faasil. Fahadh had a good 2024 where he delivered numerous hits including Aavesham and Pushpa 2. Right now, the Tamil audience is looking forward to his Maareesan which also stars Vadivelu and is set to release in July. His Malayalam film Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, also produced by Ashiq Usman, is likely to release in September.

Thudarum Box Office collection Day 6: Mohanlal movie Thudarum, delivering strong performance, is making waves at the box office. The action-comedy drama film registered a marginal 4% drop in earnings on Wednesday, April 30. Let's have a look at the box office numbers of Tharun Moorthy directorial latest Mollywood movie. The movie featuring Shobana, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, and Irshad Ali in key roles alongside Mohanlal opened with ₹ 5.25 crore net earnings on April 25. The movie, released in Malayalam and Telugu languages, amassed ₹ 6.24 crore net in India on Day 6, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. Overall, during 6-day run in theatres, Thudarum raked in ₹ 44.24 crore net at the domestic box office. As Malayalam screenings contribute significantly to Thudarum revenue, the movie registered an overall 48.92% Malayalam Occupancy on Wednesday, Sacnilk reported. Mohanlal in a post on X announced that the film has grossed ₹ 100 crore worldwide in less than 6 days. 'Thrilled to share that #Thudarum has crossed ₹ 100 crore at the worldwide box office! Celebrate the moment with #Kondattam – the Thudarum promo song!' the caption states. He also shared the new Thudarum promo song 'Kondattam.' Jointly produced by Mohanlal's production house, Aashirvad Cinemas, and Rejaputhra Visual Media, the crime-thriller features a powerful narrative and Binu Pappu and Prakash Varma's strong performance. Notably, Mohanlal was last seen in Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial blockbuster movie L2 Empuraan.

Jakes Bejoy decodes 'Thudarum' soundscape
Audiences and critics can't stop talking about the soundscape of Thudarum , Mohanlal's latest blockbuster now playing to packed cinemas across Kerala. With powerful performances from Mohanlal, Prakash Varma, and Binu Pappu, a gripping screenplay, and stirring music, Thudarum is more than just a film – it's an experience. The music, composed by the talented Jakes Bejoy, adds emotional depth and power to every scene. Jakes, who also scored Identity and Officer On Duty this year, recently gave fans a behind-the-scenes look into the sound design of Thudarum . In a post featuring a collage of the lead actors alongside an elephant, a king cobra and a wolf, he revealed hidden musical symbols in the characters. 'Listen closely for metaphorical cues in the sound,' he wrote. 'The kombu and chenda represent Mohanlal's character, nagapattu and dissonant violin motifs echo through George's role, and a wolf's howl reflects Benny, played by Binu Pappu.' He also described the haunting folk track Pemari and other vocals as 'the cry of the mother forest herself' – tying beautifully into the film's raw and earthy themes. Jakes and director Tharun Moorthy had earlier worked together on Operation Java , and their bond clearly remains strong. Tharun replied to Jakes' post, calling him 'the companion'. Excitement continues to build as the much-awaited promo song Kondattam , sung by MG Sreekumar, is set to release soon. The singer has promised it will stir the same thrill as Velmuruga Haro Hara from Naran . Thudarum has already broken box office records and is on track to become Mohanlal's second Rs 100 crore hit this year, following Empuraan . The film, co-written by KR Sunil and Tharun, follows a former stuntman turned taxi driver whose quiet life is thrown into chaos after his beloved taxi is taken away unfairly.
