Moms work hard, so they deserve a day to relax and enjoy themselves while their loved ones take care of them. You can show how much you appreciate the mom or mother figure in your life this Mother's Day by taking them out or picking up some special treats for them to enjoy at home. Restaurants throughout the city are making it easy, offering moms free flowers or other gifts and hosting decadent buffets with bottomless drinks and activities to keep kids busy. It might be hard to imagine going out in these freezing temps, but Valentine's Day will be here soon so you need to make plans to avoid heartbreak. Restaurants throughout the Chicago area are offering luxurious special menus so you can spend the night having oysters, Champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries with your special someone, but there are also more casual ways to mark the occasion such as heart-shaped pizzas or dim sum feasts. Spots have also really leaned into the idea of Galentine's Day, encouraging friends to get together for a flower-arranging class or drag brunch and there are even parties where you can celebrate with your dog.
