VARANASI: In a significant initiative to raise awareness about bone and joint health, the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, hosted a walk as part of Bone and Joint Week. Geriatric care in focus at this year's Bone and Joint Week
The Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA) will be observing Bone and Joint Week 2025 until August 10, with this year's theme being 'Old is Gold – 360° Care for the Elderly' that emphasises a holistic approach to geriatric orthopaedic care. On Monday, programmes were centred around on Bone and Joint Day. The week's events include initiatives such as elderly care clinics, bone health and fall-prevention awareness drives, youth outreach programmes, among others, according to an official press release. The Tiruchi Orthopaedic Society (TOS), led by K. Balasubramanian, president, Terrence Jose Jerome, secretary, and P.R. Ramasamy, executive member – Central Zone 1, will be in charge of the programme execution with community-centric planning and delivery in the Tiruchi district.
